What a strange name??

Several Years Ago, Freshman Magazine did a special Anniversary Album, which had several articles pertaining to Bel Ami Studios and their various models who had appeared in the magazine. One article was an interview with George DuRoy, and another article with the Freshmen Editors who worked with George and his staff from the beginnings of their long association. The question of the models names came up, and the Freshman Editors explained their various problems with naming the models. The earliest models were assigned American and Einglish sounding pseudonyms or Aliases. So Stefan Andersen became Benny Drew. Daniel Valent became Skip Marks, etc.

Then the editors realized that this was going to be a long and fruitful association, so they better give the models more Eastern European sounding names, with some consultation from George and his staff. That is how they cooked up the names for Lukas Ridgestone, Johan Paulik and all the others that followed.

Curiously, Lukas originally believed his identity would never be compromised in the Slovak Republic. But, even they eventually got massively computerized with business and home computers. Once they did, his cat was out of the bag to anyone in Greater Bratislava who could recognize him from the internet. And, people talked! To his Parents, relatives, neighbors, ad nauseum, and his friends and girl friends, to the point where he was in a difficult situation with many of them.

He said in his Freshman interview that this has created major problems and made it difficult with a lot of the women he has tried to date. He said that while their whole culture has become more tollerant of Gays, their culture and their straight women in particular, just don't approve of straight models or porn stars having gay sex on screen, especially the gigantic amounts that he has had. Poor Lukas, or whatever his real name is, got caught in his own web! Oh what a tangled web we weave, when we practice to decieve!

I don't want to start WW-III here with my opinions. I do feel strongly, however, that it is more honest and clear, and would be better in the long run for the Gay Culture and Gay Men, for Gay themed movies/erotic films and photo essays to be made by real Gay and BI People who are sincerely pursuing their orientation.

While I've heard the reasoning for beautiful or handsome straight models, actors/porn stars (meat puppets!) to make these films and photo shoots as "art" or as "sex fantasies" having nothing to do with reality, it doesn't ring true to me and I don't buy it. For me, it seems incredibly dishonest and some what exploitative of Gay Men. I'd prefer seeing real Gay or BI guys like me and you honestly going at it, doing what is natural for us. I find that incredibly stimulating and inspiring.

A few months ago, Corbin Fisher paired up a dyed in the wool Gay bottomboy with a very responsive Bi-curious stud for a really awesome roll in the hay. I found it to be much more psychologically, emotionally, erotically and intellectually stimulating and satisfying than watching my very favorite CF Staight Guys play Gay Lovers.

Understandably, their hearts just aren't in it, and their too damn homophobic and immature to get in contact with any real homo feelings they may have, so they can't grow beyond it to whatever may be their BI side. There's a destructive and counterproductive dimesion to those dishonest fake-Gay perfomances and productions. I think Gay men deserve better "Gay Entertainment" than that. It's high time we let the Gay Video and Photo industry know it!
