Tyler is definitely the best looking guy on the show. The frat boy has an enormous gullet and a beer belly. The hippie looks like his hair got mauled by a racoon. And the Latino guy while albeit attractive isn't as physically attractive as Tyler.

Tyler's personality has gotten better thankfully. He was quite the bitch during the first few episodes. But turns out he was dead on right about the ditzy Russian girl.

Co-sign. He could be attractive if he carried himself better, but he's too feminine, too moody and too bitchy for my tastes. So, I have zero attraction to him. Plus, he's playing the perfectionist/over-achiever. He's too critical of the Russian girl and tries to correct her personality flaws. I just hope one episode she clocks him and knocks him out.

Tyler is turning almost as bad as Karamo and Willie from Real World Philadelphia. Karamo was the anti-gay gay and Willie was the queen. (Although I thought it was hot when Karamo and Willie experimented one episode.)

See I KNOW Tyler is physically an attractive guy but man, his personality is so odious and utterly bereft of any substance or intelligence that it renders him unattractive to me. He is among the most obnoxious people I've ever seen on television and it surprises me actually how much my dislike of his stupidity, arrogance and cruelty can cloud my judgement of his physical or sex appeal. But there you have it. He does nothing for me sexually.

As for Paula, couldn't agree with you guys more! At first I felt sorry for her and what not, and I thought she would lead the show into an interesting discussion of eating disorders and anxiety but instead she's opted to be just an annoying drama queen. Without her eating disorder she's NOTHING and she knows this, which is one of the reasons she clings to it. Her getting drunk and yelling at John stunt is tired - she's managed to make John look like an innocent victim. There really should be a rule allowing the remaining guests to unanimously vote someone out of the house. I'd start with Tyler and then move on to crazy ass Paula.

The 'other guy' that Tyler brought home was named Bhakti or something like that. I agree that guy was fucking hot. I could'nt beleive that he would go with a queen like Tyler, though I would'nt pass up a chance for some free ass.

While I admit that Tyler is physcially attractive, his persona and femme-ness grates. I don't like Svetlana either (with her over-exaggeration on gay people) but I do hope that she knocks out Tyler some day.

Tyler turned to out to be EXACTLY right about the prissy bitch Svetlana, so that's why I'm cutting him a break. (Main reason I HATED him in the beginning of the season; but every negative quality he described about Svetlana turned out to be true. Especially when she calls his mourning 'My father just died of lung cancer two hours ago' boyfriend and accused him of being gay. BITCH! )

Also, he's growing on me with his funny lines:

i saw last night's episode when tyler was getting back at svetlana for telling john about what tyler was saying all about him. i thought it was hilarious! i do have to say that svetlana is just as ditzy and clueless about everything that surrounds her. she doesn't seem to keep business all to herself but goes around rambling about the whole situation. tyler is by far the BITCH on the show and that's why this season is so interesting. i can't help but love him though.

That's Paula's gimmick. She's anorexic. Other than that, she's useless and she's the oldest member (looks old too).

No one does it for me this year. This is a terrible season.

And it really bothers me that the guy screwed Tyler. Tyler isn't in his league and it made it seem like Tyler can just get any guy he wants.

I feel sorry Paula (or I did in the beginning) because of her eating disorder. I've known people who suffered from anorexia and I know how difficult it is to get to a place where you can live a healthy life even as you battle it every day (it's not something you can "cure" or get over - this is a common fallacy. It is instead something you learn to live with). I also think that she is unlike Tyler in that she is not as vindictive.

With those caveats aside, I do think she has become irritating, needy and especially obnoxious in her behavior towards John. Her eating is one thing but if she knows - and everyone tells her - that drinking turns her into a beast, then maybe she should just STOP DRINKING. Geeze woman! She IS similar to Tyler in the sense that she is channeling sublimated desires.

Just as Ty berates and harrasses Svet because he was secretly jealous from day one that all the (for him) unattainable straight hot men were VERY attainable to Svet (and indeed they were all sexually turned on by her initially), Paula's tantrums against John are similarly really based on sexual frustration, desire and envy. It's become very obvious that she wants him to find her attractive and maybe even make a pass at her. It is also obvious that she is jealous when he flirts with other girls - maybe not so much because she wants him for herself (I think her attraction to him is really just a need to be validated as "conventionally beautiful" by a man), but because she wants to be able to flirt with other girls the way he does. I think it's very possible there's a dialectic in her to be with and/or TO BE John. For someone as insecure and low on self esteem as she is, it's not unlikely for sexuality and narcissism to become conflated. Paula then takes out her frustration on John (who Tyler would probably want to sleep with) while Tyler takes his frustration out on Svet (who Paula would probably like to sleep with).

This dynamic would be fascinating if the producers were willing to probe deeper into their psyches - perhaps by forcing them both into REAL therapy (whoever this doctor is that Paula is seeing, he's not delving beneath the surface but really just giving out Oprah-like sentiments in what has become a culture of American emotionalism) and allowing us to see that they're just neurotic twitching nerve ends controlled by their desires. But instead we get the bitching and the whinning and the fake make-ups at the end. Instead, Tyler and Paula are content to be two of the most annoying, braying donkeys we've ever seen.

Of the two though, I despise Ty slightly more because he has little excuse and is nasty minded and vicious in a way that Paula isn't intentionally.

Will from Big Brother (actually both are cute. One was a doctor and winner of season two and the other was on the year before last BB) is the only drama queen/feminine gay (the one with the blonde hair) I have ever had a crush on.
