Rooney is his club mate and what Ronaldo did during England's game with Portugal (he stepped into a dispute that had nothing to do with him and bagdered the referee into showing Rooney the card that ultimately got him sent off) was despicable and un-sportsmanlike.

I don't have any illusions about Cristiano Ronaldo. He's got serious attitude problems, and clearly was doing his best to get Rooney booted. As much as I'd like to nail him, if I had to spend too much time with him, I'd probably smother him in his sleep.

But Cristiano wasn't the one that gave the card. England's fans should be much angrier at the uneven refereeing that occurred at the game. As far as the ref being 'badgered', any referee who lets a player tell him how he should be calling plays has no business being at the World Cup.

This constant Cristiano Ronaldo bantering is getting pretty dull. The truth of the matter is that he is considered by many professionals and analysts in the field of soccer to be one of the best players in the world right now. It does not really matter that a few of us at JUb find him hot or that JUB England supporters are pissed off at him. The guy can play soccer and thats what the World Cup is about. Rooney had as much to do with his own demise from the game on Saturday and even more so than Ronaldo. It's pretty tiring hearing the "Oooh poor Rooney was provoked by Ronaldo and therefore is justified in what he did" bullshit! Rooney could just as easily have walked away and won the game for England on Saturday. Obviously, he made a poor choice. I'm surprised more English fans aren't pissed of at Rooney! But it's always easier to hate the underdog isn't it. Especially when that underdog does not look, play and sustain the image that we expect from our soccer heroes!!!

If Ronaldo suffers consequences from his actions in Saturdays game in the near future, it will certain say plenty about the de-evolution and lack of sportsmanship that surrounds the sport of soccer at this present moment.
