Serious What are thoughts on a national hot line for angry people?

I don't mean the old man who is pissed because some kids walked on his grass. But the man or woman who is pissed at their husband, boyfriend, gf, wife, boss or the world in general.
The kid who is mad because he/she is bullied and is an outcast at school.

Would a free counseling hot line staffed with trained volunteers thwart violent attacks in some cases?

I don't think the people who need it would use it.

    We have 911 for that.

Seriously, though, we have free phone services for people who truly want or need help. There are hotlines for all sorts of things that cater to people in desperate situations.

Angry people rarely want or need help. The only hotline which would be of use would be for people who fear the angry person and there is already plenty of free help for people in those situations.

I believe that at least in the USA anger management should be taught in public schools. A national hot line for those who are overwhelmed with feelings of animosity, vitriol and hatred might diffuse situations before they escalate.

In the UK there are a number of such free hotlines. The Samaritans and Childline immediately spring to mind, but I'm sure there are others.
