    Passwords...

Do you have trouble choosing or remembering passwords? Also, do you change your passwords for security? I use a system of odd numbered words rotated on even numbered months. I have trouble remebering them.

You're better off using a sentence you can remember.

Something like: I live at 129 Mockingbird Lane. Use the first letter of each word. [email protected]

    Or, I hate the 45th President U-S-A = Iht45PU-S-A

easy to remember. Harder for someone to guess/hack

My passwords are pretty long and a reference to something or someone I love. I don't think a snooper will guess it since I keep personal info to myself.

    Re: Passwords...

Non important things all have the same password. Then I have a few others that only someone that really gets me would be able to guess and even then I doubt it.

edit: I never answer publicly questions like favorite movie or director for this reason. Some random places make you use those as check point questions to passwords.

I use a combination of words and numbers that relate to something of interest to me, and sometimes add special characters. I sometimes use the same passwords for a few things, but not always. I always write down my passwords someplace because I would never remember them.

I rotate between two passwords i hate when they ask for symbols and a bunch of characters.

My job makes us change our passwords every 90 days its annoying as well.

I once created a similar one with letters and numbers from an old address. Then I replicated it with other past addresses, also the current one. Then I randomly changed some characters... No one (literally NO ONE) could guess them.

I took the mention of Trump to not be that serious, more comical, like his behavior when among the grown-ups.

As for passwords, I take the greater threat to be a keystroke logger. They have no need to guess when they can simply see what you have entered.

I totally rely on password managers. If one ever goes bust, I would have to hope for password recovery. And being lucky to remember which email I used when I signed up.
Don't tell me about your rules, because I spit on any rules.

Or, if you want to reset passwords regularly, use a sentence that changes automatically in your mind:

    It's 12°C in December so I use Justusboys. I12°CiDsIuJ
    It's 5°C in May so I use Facebook. I5°CiMsIuF
    And so on.

Then of course you have to change every password every month.

Hey, it will happen, in the near future. After he leaves office.

My company makes us change ours every 3 months. I have my own system for that.

Funny story. One morning a couple years back I came into the office and found out I got locked out of he system whwnni couldn't check my email. Had been procrastinating on changing the password. Then I found out another guy also got locked out. Then another one. Eventually, we figured out that not a single person in our office could log into the system. Get that? The whole office forgot to change our passwords in time.

Yea they're boring. I change them from time to time when I forget them or there's been a major security breach.
