    Silence of the Snow

    1. There will be several parts and the sex will come, but you will have to be patient. I like developing characters and relationships before jumping into sex as I feel that increases the impact.
    2. For the moral police, the 'stranger boy' mentioned here is 18+ that I will mention in the story in due time, but I decided to write it here in case someone raises question.
    3. Please do add feedback as it encourages me to write.

    ---

I pushed the brake as hard as I could, hoping against anything that whatever was in front of me wasn’t alive. My hope was crushed immediately as I saw a thin figure emerge out of the shadow, though I was glad that my negligence did not cause any damage to him. My instinct was to run away – meeting a creepy, ghostly figure in a snowy night wasn’t something anyone would look forward to, especially not when you nearly crashed him under the tire. But some deeper, more primal part stopped me.

I pulled down the glass and asked, “Sorry, couldn’t see due to the darkness. Do you need any help?”

I was expecting some old, infirm man, and therefore was pleasantly surprised with what I saw: a very young, pale boy, with a lean and lanky figure and tattered t-shirt emerged into view.

“What on earth are you doing in the middle of a snowy December night here?” I asked.

Shaking vigorously, he leveled his eyes to mine. Two helpless, languorous eyes met mine, and I felt a strong, powerful emotion steer in me.

“Get in.” I said, knowing the risk I was taking was worth it.

His presence was a distraction, so to keep my already drunk state out of control, I decided to not talk with him. I only peered at his face a few times, and felt those same powerful emotions – and sensations – arouse me. Though I was trembling even in my jacket, he seemed to show an extraordinary resistance to the cold, keeping still in those tattered t-shirts.

Despite the gloomy darkness and inescapable snow, I managed to reach my house in due time and without any further problem. Following my gestures, he got out of the car and stood by my side as I reached for the calling bell.

“You are going to stay with us tonight. Tomorrow, once the snow subsides somewhat, I will take you to your family, OK? Just call your parents and tell them you are staying at my place for tonight.”

There was no response. I wondered if it was me or was there something really inhuman about this boy. I even wondered if I was hallucinating.
Soon the door opened and he jerked as though someone had just slammed him with a hammer. My eleven years old son opened the door. He was about to hug me but stopped dead at the sight of the stranger.

    “Dad…” Tim muttered.

I smiled at my son. “He’s … well he’s going to stay with us tonight.”

Tim nodded, looking skeptically at the stranger’s face, and then made way for us to pass.

I put my hand on his shoulder and slowly gestured him to move ahead into the house. It was like being wrapped in a blanket: all the cold and worries of life just shoved aside as the familiar warmth of the house greeted me.

“Where’s mommy?” I asked Tim, still holding the stranger with my hand.

    “To her parent’s…”

I sighed. Though from grief or pleasure even I did not know.

    “And…” Tim continued.

“And?” I asked, raising a questioning eyebrow at him.

“She said not to contact her.”

Not really surprised with the way things played out, I gave another sigh. And this time I knew it was relief and not misery that I breathed out. What I couldn’t understand, however, was the strange steering sensation that I felt in my crotch upon hearing that statement. Explaining it on my alcoholic state, I told Tim: “I want you to look for warm clothes that will fit him. Even if they don’t … well just bring anything you can find. And yes, see if the heater is turned on. He needs to take a shower.”

Tim nodded obediently and disappeared into his room.

I looked at him and once again felt a powerful surge of emotion pierce through my insides. Though the sodium bulbs were casting a very soft light, I could see him very clearly. It was as though his skin was glowing on its own. Thick eyelashes adorned the most beautiful set of eyes I have ever seen in my life. Those hazelnut eyeballs could speak poetry just by their gaze. Juicy pouty lips sat on a sculpted jaw. His deep brown complexion was like a chocolate waiting to be eaten.

    I smiled. “What’s your name?”

Those simple words did what even the cold couldn’t do: he started shaking, and that too vigorously.

I don’t know why, but I felt a pang in my heart. Unknowingly, I cupped my hand on his face and said: “It’s OK, son. Take it easy. No need to answer. Take your time…”

The shaking subsided somewhat, but the lonesome look did not depart from his face. His mouth opened, as though he was about to speak. Unknown, indescribable emotions burgeoned in my chest as he stared through me with those piercing eyes. No words came out, but his lips parted in such a way that I … I felt more than just emotions steer through me. Something else began to grow, to mushroom out of its way in my crotch. My lips parted too. I couldn’t help it: he was like a magnet pulling me to him against my better judgement …

    “Dad, I found it.”

I jerked like someone had slapped me hard on the face. I was glad that my son intruded, because what would have happened then could have further breached my already broken home.

“Sweetheart, bring them in here.” I said.

As Tim handed me the clothes, I looked at the boy and said, “Put on these warm clothes. Make yourself feel at home.”

Giving him some privacy, I nudged my son to his room. It was now time to settle affairs with my son.

Your note re the stranger's age appreciated. But an 11 year old left alone at home?

Auto -- with my experience, I knew the age thing would come up, so decided to put that in the beginning in case my story gets edited out

The mother had a fight with the father and decided to abandon them. Also she's bipolar which will be mentioned. It is their own house, an eleven year old can definitely take care of himself for a few hours. I hope I didn't break any code of conduct here by that!

Maybe things are different where you live but in some jurisdictions it is illegal to leave a child of that age at home alone. Just a thought

I am not advocating/condoning the act. In fact in the subsequent chapters, the mother will be penalized for her action and I'll show the damages she has done to the kids as cruel.

If we can depict murder/abuse and other gruesomely things in a story then why not this?

The act maybe illegal but I'll show it as such -- like when you write a story about an abused victim, and the victim narrates his experience, you are not promoting it. If anything , you are denouncing it. It is part of the story.

Sure no problem. I just thought I broke some forum COC.
Edit - you can edit the age to 14-16 if it is more palatable to you.

Your explanation makes it clear that the boy's mother was acting out of character/under stress - it happens!
