    Trump's Failed Korea Trip

He and FOX, of course see it as the greatest deal ever.

But the reviews aren't good. Seems like the Pentagon and South Korea were blindsided by Trump giving up military exercises.....there is widespread unhappiness with Trump's praise of Kim Jong Un and the US effectively has walked away without getting anything tangible from North Korea.

    As a reminder:

This agreement isn't worth the scrap value of the paper that bears the signatures.

If Agent Orange is a violin, Kim Jung Un is one of the world's best violin players...he knows how to play Trump well.

China and Russia also played the US beautifully on this.

Pull American troops out of the Korean peninsula and China will sleep better and Chinese and Russian influence in the peninsula will increase. Simple.

    Russian imperialism will flourish.

That will give Agent Orange more places to put his ugly condos and hotels and casinos.

Very good point, Frank. When two autocratic narcissists come together, it could go one of two ways. This, fortunately did not degenerate into a shoving, bitch slapping tirade of degrading insults on both sides...in which the interpreters would not be needed. Children share a special language. Dear Leader vs. not so Dear Leader. but yes, POTUS is so susceptible to anyone reflecting for him, that he would gladly trade South Korea and the West Coast for some hotel options in NK.
And yes, as noted elsewhere in this thread, POTUS is only the latest in a long line of POTI to be disappointed by lies and NK's promises. (the irony cannot be avoided). Who knows what KJU thought walking away from the worst hour of his life? Now, this is kinda weird... POTUS is a 73 yo man who denies any of his psychosocia diagnoses andl comorbidities. He fucked himself (as per usual) by going on his instincts. WTF? But then, his "scientific advisers" would probably interpret nuclear armament in the context of Revelations. Were there porn stars or defenseless Miss America contestants at his hotel? Was his hotel going into receivership? Both situations where POTUS has experience acting (out) on his instincts and cumming up a fucking WINNER. Nuclear armaments not so much. North Korea, even less. Where is Jared when you fucking need him, for Chrissakes? What he did to Palestine and for Israel, he could probably repeat on the Korean Peninsula (poor South Korea) of depending on which side the tweets land. To be fair , he is an old, flawed man with little understanding of world politics. After all his great statesmanship at G6, 7 or8, he should be Bushed [sic] and then on through a dozen time zones to Singapore to meet "Rocket Man"......and he brought John Bolton? WTF is up with that?

Unh, what? "Failed"? Might want to let the ink dry before passing judgement. Better than a war, so I'll take this agreement. No, I didn't vote for Trump but I support him here and nowhere else so far.

Neither Trump nor Kim are known for keeping promises and agreements. The piece of paper, in my opinion, is worth more than the words and signatures written on it.

Besides, Trump is more concerned with all the praise and adoration he hasn't been getting.

^ Did you read Post #1? In the past 33 years (half of my lifetime), North Korea has promised to denuclearize 12 times. This is #13. There is a history of behaviour here that isn't likely to change.

Trump 'jokingly' admitted that he'd like to be a dictator like Kim.

    I am without speech.

“He speaks and his people sit up at attention. I want my people to do the same.”
Short, must-see video in the article: https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-fin...125443732.html

It reminds me of our former prime minister Stephen Harper demanding that 'his people' refer to the Government of Canada as the Government of Harper. Harper was the closest we ever came to having a dictator as a prime minister.

    Re: Trump's Failed Korea Trip

Last night I was thinking about Trump and Kim and how this whole 'pissing contest' turned around so abruptly and why Trump's insults have suddenly become words of praise. I was thinking about Trump's comments (post #16) on Friday and the answer came to me before I fell asleep and I'm glad I hadn't forgotten it when I woke up. It's really quite simple. To defeat your enemy, pretend he is your friend.

Kim has Trump figured out. All those insults and threats and name-calling wasn't out of fear, it was out of jealousy. Kim knows how far a word of praise goes with Trump, so, give him a word of praise and Trump melts. He is putty in Kim's hands. And that word of praise is more important than anything that might have been accomplished in Singapore. Just look how much he's been bitching about the praise he hasn't been getting back home.

It's all about jealousy and not having what other world leaders have.

    Anti-USA propaganda easing:

“All the anti-American posters I usually see around Kim Il-sung Square and at shops, they’ve all just gone,” Rowan Beard, a tour manager at Young Pioneer Tours, told Reuters. “In five years working in North Korea, I’ve never seen them completely disappear before.”

Infamous posters and postcards showing North Korean missiles on their way to Washington are a thing of the past. Also removed are the anti-American trinkets that used to be sold to tourists as souvenirs. In their place are items showing themes of Korean reunification.

^ Ah yes. What about ism.

The go to response for Trump followers.

It is ridiculous to presume or assume that it would have been hailed as anything if it was as useless and fruitless as this trip. All this trip did was solidify Kim's position at home and result in North Korea giving up nothing while being given legitimacy on the world stage.

    Try harder.

Considering that President Chaos has said that Obama was responsible for NineOneOne, it wouldn't be a long stretch to put Obama in the 20th Century.

Oh, wait. The President would NEVER praise Obama.

    Is anyone surprised?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. spy satellites have detected renewed activity at the North Korean factory that produced the country’s first intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the United States, a senior U.S. official said on Monday, in the midst of talks to compel Pyongyang to give up its nuclear arms.

Photos and infrared imaging indicate vehicles moving in and out of the facility at Sanumdong, but do not show how advanced any missile construction might be, the official told Reuters on condition of anonymity because the intelligence is classified.

The Washington Post reported on Monday that North Korea appeared to be building one or two new liquid-fueled intercontinental ballistic missiles at the large research facility on the outskirts of Pyongyang, citing unidentified officials familiar with intelligence reporting.
