I took a nasty fall and might have broken my hip.
Just so you know.
I'll update you when I can.

God answers all prayers. Most of the time, though, the answer is 'No'.

Ask for some titanium parts.
Darn! Hope you feel better soon and that it is not too bad.
You're posting with a broken hip.....That's dedication.
Hope you're wrong, and it's not broken...........best of luck.
.
Above all, think positively. I certainly will.
"Dr." chris sez,
The fracture (if there is one) might not be your hip, but your pelvis with a hairline fracture. Much easier to manage.
ANECDOTE ALERT: Last summer I took a fall and landed on my hand. I was sure my ring finger was broken. NOT. It was only dislocated - the lesser of the two.
Hang in there,
chris
Yikes! I hope it's not broken or fractured.![]()
Aww man. I'm sure all will okay Neil.

Recently I heard a 'wise guy' story that I had a party at my home for twenty-five men. It's an interesting story, but I don't know twenty-five men I'd want to invite to a party. ~Joan Crawford
I hope youre ok ;-)
Wishing you a speedy recovery, hopefully you may have only badly twisted the ball and socket joint. Please let us know how things are going. Adam.

I just happened to step out into HT and saw your post!
You know you're in my thoughts and prayers.
Adam, Maybe you can put in for a transfer from Edinburgh to Peterborough for the next few months to attend to Neil's medical needs.

And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
I hope it's not as bad as you fear and that all goes well in any case.
Is Canada's health system the same/similar to Australia , NZ and UK ?
NEVER LISTEN TO A ONE SIDED STORY AND JUDGE.
Three years old but probably current enough.

Respectfully, Telly, the only think that is relevant in THIS thread, is Neil and his health.
Yes, Canada has a National Health plan.
The link Matt provided explains some of the machinations of how it works.
Additionally, Neil is on disability due to his genetic spine disease.
What I care about now, is how my good friend is doing.
I just sent an e-mail to the hospital asking if they could check their admission records and get permission from Neil to let me know how he's doing.
They likely won't, but I'm hoping for the best.
I do have his phone number, too - I can try that tomorrow and see if his roommate knows anything.
And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .
Wishing you the best, Neil. My condolences about the nasty fall; hope it isn't a broken hip. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
I think it's OK here...
It's loosely on topic. God knows, I'm not a defender of Telly and he has been behaving a bit odd lately but on this he's not outside bounds or anything on bringing this up is he?
The problem would be if the discussion was just on that and ESPECIALLY if it got a CEP taint to it...
Equally well, we could discuss similar experiences with accidents (how to prevent them for instance or close calls or whatever). Particularly hip accidents. Health is on-topic here isn't it?
You are being too harsh voodoo IMO
