The sovereign of the UK and of all of the British Empire (what is left of it) has been hospitalized with gastroenteritis. Gastroenteritis is a disease symptomized by shitting and pukeing. Not a pretty sight, but it does not spare even royalty.

Thank goodness for the royal throne then.
Ouch. Are we gonna have a king soon?
That we are capable only of being what we are, remains our unforgivable sin.

She got the shits.
I lost half a stone at the beginning of Feb due to something similar.
She's an octogenarian, and she needs some geriatric care. I've seen how it affect the elderly, and despite her being a royal, she is nevertheless fairly robust for someone who is older than my late mum.
Really .... don't make a prank call to the hospital because the royal family will drive someone to commit suicide.
Charles must have gotten a boner thinking his time had finally come![]()
In hospital?
She could die?
So, fingers crossed then.
Funny - I'm used to reading "Queen Elizabeth Hospital." Or "Queen Elizabeth Freeway," "Queen Elizabeth Theatre," etc. But Queen Elizabeth HospitalISED" is a new one.
Anyway I wish her well, and better her than Prince Charles. If he had diarrhoea for even just a day or two there would be nothing left.
The Queen Elizabeth hospital is now called the Toronto Rehab here and it's part of University Health Network.
I should know I spent a lot of time there.

At least she has health care coverage.
Happily, The Queen was well enough to leave hospital this afternoon.

Aw shucks, poor Chales .. no King .. again.
But seriously, I'm amazed at her highness' endurance and wish her many more proud years.

^he looks seriously unhappy and may not survive his mom with that!
I admire Queen Elizabeth II. No matter what, she just keeps on. Kind of inspiring.
God save the Queen and God bless her. Before anyone flames, consider that she has carried out a duty for over 60 years; a job she never wanted and watched kill her father. And she has done so without so much as a hint of bitterness or resentment. Perfect? No. She's human. But with quiet dignity she carries out HUNDREDS of official engagements throughout the year and does so with grace and aplomb. And for the record, Prince Charles doesn't even WANT the bloody job. I know its a life I wouldn't want. But it's the idea of service above self that keeps her going; something we all can learn from.
It appears Her Majesty is fully recovered and is about to resume her official duties.

She missed a trip to Rome.Gastroenteritis? The real problem was probably her getting sick to her stomach at the thought of running into that idiot Berlusconi that the Italians keep embarassing themselves by reelecting.
Ooh. Nice one with Blair.
Should've included Camilla.
