Don't worry. Everything on the right is getting weaker by the day.
Everyone has their own biases. Many in the black community are highly religious and some people find it hard to reconcile the idea of equality and their deeply held faith in religion. There are advances being made. Here in Maryland, where we just had a vote on marriage equality, we had a number of high profile preachers and religious figures as well as people in the black community speak out in favor of equality likening it to the civil rights movement in the 60's.
The ideas of equality are moving forward, but it is hard to overcome both deep seated bias against certain behaviors as well as well ingrained religious ideas and practices.
Just brought up gay rights and equality. I'm liking the ideas in this speech. I'm hoping we as a nation can translate these into action.
I'm wondering why you bother having an inauguration at all for a re-elected President. It's not as if anything much is changing.
I've been watching. Where are the naked men?![]()
Another inauguration. But he has my best wishes -- and should listen to Schumer.
the money wasted today could cover half our national debt
In Obama's inaugural speech today, he said:
"Our journey is not complete until our gay brothers and sisters are treated like anyone else under the law."
Absolutely amazing to this old fart who suffered thru the 50s and 60's as a "criminal", and "mentally ill".
Gotta continue the hate. Not even sure I get this one.

I'm getting one after another on my Facebook page. None of them seem to make sense. But maybe I'm too liberal to appreciate the intricate humor. Or to find anything funny, really.

> Having Republican facebook friends
I dont know where you get your numbers from. There are Black activists that fight for Gay Rights. A good deal of them are in the NAACP. Al Sharpton included, he marched with Dr. King.Remember, just because someone is apart of a disenfranchised group, doesn't mean that they will be for every disenfranchised group. Are you out there fighting for women's rights and the rights of the handicapable ? Why are there racist gays?
Michelle's wig is busted, she must have burned her scalp with a bad perm.

In his autumn, before the winter, comes man's last mad surge of youth
^ The shade. I can't.
(pretend there's an appropriate dramatic gif here)

Is it a coat, is it a dress is it a dresscoat is it a coat dress?
Did she ask for something to make her hips look huge?
Is it a costume for a modern version of the Tin Man in a Wiz revival?

"Fifty people on Facebook posting the same thing" stopped being annoying three months after joining. Now, it's just "Facebook".
Oh? Just throw it in the "whatever" pile? Fuck that! You're getting a smile on the radio instead -_-
That we are capable only of being what we are, remains our unforgivable sin.

No, just violently intellectually dishonestObama has done more for gay rights than any other President in US history. And not a little bit more, not kinda sorta more, but vast oceans of more. That it isn't enough for you would be only slightly embarrassing if you were not defending a party that isn't just doing less, but is in fact ACTIVELY fighting our equality.
So yes, you really have no ground to stand on to accuse Obama of not doing "enough" for us. He is doing all that he could do in the current political environment. The list is huge, and if you think that's not enough, how did you feel during Bush?

Don't worry y'all if Romney were President instead we'd all be in binders by now.![]()
MOVING IMAGE: A green-skinned, side-winged gargoyle holds up a huge handful of "some ass" tokens with a meaningful look.

Some of the occupants of the Presidential viewing suite look downright shabby.
Richard Blanco, named by Obama as the Inaugural Poet, who happens to be gay, read his authored poem for the inauguration. Impressive.

So how was the poet reciting the poem?
The news broadcasts here haven't included it.
^ thanks for the clip.
What was the vibe you noted?
There seems to be a hiccup at 4.00. "Free?"
I think this quote is the best from Harvey Fierstein
"And that is how it's done, America. Obama just vanquished our foes not with guns, but with intelligence, compassion and truth. I am so proud of America today. CONGRATULATIONS, PRESIDENT OBAMA."
"Even the prayers at today's inauguration include us. I can't stop crying with joy."
Beyonce Performance @ 57th Presidential Inauguration Ceremony - President Obama 2nd term 1/21/2013
I've been watching the Inauguration all day, love it. The parade is entertaining.
SiriusXM 11am to 3 EST
It was nice of Obama to close for Beyonce like that.
Lex
The shade. Beyonce remains unfazed.

one thing about the closet/you don't have to hurry/it will be bad tomorrow/so brother, don't you worry![]()
Thank you Mr. President for including the LGTB community yesterday.
Couldn't bring myself to watch any of it .... thoroughly dismayed by the degradation of the republic, the office of the Presidency, and the process of democracy that the Obama presidency represents
