When you shop do you buy from the bulk bins in your grocery (organic or not). I noticed some stores don't yet have much of a bulk selection but organic grocers do. And I calculated you can save quite a bit by buying bulk.
The only items you can't get are of course produce and meats as these aren't dry goods...
My local grocer even has pasta and popcorn in bulk as well as all kinds of granola in addition to nuts, legumes, grains (many types from amaranth to couscous and so on). Also on offer are bulk sweets.
Long ago, I thought bulk bins were totally unsanitary since I imagined people just sticking their hands in but plastic gloves are provided to handle pasta (cannot be spooned out obviously).
I am trying to get them to add bulk oils such as olive or sesame and maybe honey too though I wonder how they would do a dispenser for that? Health code may also be a factor....
I have never gotten ill from them though.
