Obviously the little douchebag who ruined the thread did what he wanted and left, he said he'd post all the new Tom pics, then disappeared....because of him, I'm not as into Tom as I was, and clearly, he hasn't been on anyone else's mind here....found these, thought I'd restart the thread and maybe someone will keep it current.

just a couple of hours after missing out on a medal in the 10m synchronised diving, British hope Tom Daley was receiving abuse on Twitter, including references to his late father.

18-year-old Daley, in partnership with Pete Waterfield, finished fourth in the event, having led at the halfway stage. A misjudged dive cost them their lead, and the duo could not recover.

But despite the near-miss, a defiant Daley made an example of a Twitter user who launched a sickening rant.
"After giving it my all you get idiots sending me this," Daley tweeted before linking to the message, from a user named Riley Junior.

all of toms fans (and basically everyone tracking the olympics on twitter) mauled the kid in response to the tweets, which continued:

once it got out of hand he started GROVELLING for an apology but by then it was too late. sky news was already reporting the tweets live on tv worldwide putting the **** to shame in front of millions of olympics fans. that didn't even stop him, cos he did the worst thing possible after all this..... he kept going

Jealous, pathetic, and seething.

Yeah, just finished reading about this. Apparently it was trending Worldwide.

He claimed he didn't know Tom's Dad had died.....there's been documentaries about it, it's been on every news channel for the last week and, assuming the kid doesn't watch the news or spend much time away from the keyboard, the commentary on the UK coverage of today's event mentioned it repeatedly, including shots of his family in the audience etc.

Tbh, I'm glad Tom called him out on it. Others will disagree but the low life deserves the hate.

This is so sick (meant by the traditional definition) and sad, and entirely uncalled for. Why do these Britons suddenly sound more like people who would hang out in in American "trailer parks" Forum?

A little part of me dies when I see people being so cruel. It reminds me of my reaction when I found out that Hank Aaron got death threats (complete with racist comments and other worst-of-humanity stuff) when he hit Home Run #715 in the 1970's. I started bawling on the spot, it was so cruel. My reaction isn't as visceral this time (perhaps because he is certainly not some well-known athlete I've been following for 10 or 15 years), but it is still very sad.

He needs some Twitter hugs.

I saw this earlier when I was in work. This guy had a severe case of the crazies.

He told several people he had a gun licence for shooting birds and was going to kill them with it (The gun, not the licence), he threatened to burn down some people's houses and even though he was trying to act 'tough' over the internet (though we know that's not possible) he tweeted Tom Daley several times saying "I'm sorry, I don't want to be hated" and when Mr. Daley didn't reply, Mr. Crazy went off on one!

This is why I hate the culture in which I have grown up. Fucking idiotic big man who looked about 12 years old threatening strangers. Makes me sick. Ironically, in the future this guy will win the lottery, go figure ...

After coming fourth in the men's synchronised 10m platform diving event on Monday, the 18-year-old received a message telling him he had let down his father.
Daley's father Rob died in 2011 from brain cancer.
A 17-year-old boy was arrested at a guest house in the Weymouth area on suspicion of malicious communications.

Yes both will be taking part in individual diving on 10th ? I think. I think the guy who made the comments was a 17 year old fan who was just massively dissapointed and made the tweet in the heat of the moment probably thinking no one will ever notice it. There were multiple other tweets he sent to Tom and people who retaliated. Stuff like "i hope you drown in the pool", just complete filth, the guy thinks it's that easy to win an Olympic medal

That was so lame. What he said was fucked up but he didn't need to be arrested for it. It's just stupid to me. They overreacted to that BIG TIME.
