I think it has been a part of zombie folklore since the original Night of the Living Dead to play off the scenario or your loved ones being the thing you should fear. It's easy for us to watch it in movies or television and say, "Sure, I'd kill off my sister/brother if they were bit". But in reality I don't think many people could.

I fully admit that I could not "deal with" my familiy if they were bit. I'd have to let someone else do it because I just do not have it in me. That said, I think it would be considerably easier to kill off random zombies whom you had no prior relationship with.

I think many of us survivors would have our own barn to deal with our family.

I love The Walking Dead. Who'd have thought a show about zombies could be so great? I really thought they would run out of ideas but the whole story just keeps getting better.

I don't think I'd ever be able to shoot anyone in my family, even if they had become a zombie.

Rather its your family are not and you are in denial thinking they are sick doesn't matter.
It would be difficult like helping a lover or family member kill themselves at the end of a painful terminal illness, but you can look at the walkers and tell if they are alive and sick they will never ever be anything what they were. It would be a very hard act of mercy to take them out of that hell and lay them down.

I read the official companion guide for The Walking Dead, and Frank Darabont said that he actually didn't want the show to be all action and violence; he intended for it to be more like a soap opera focusing on the human characters, with the zombies taking a back seat like we saw in the second season.


Personally, I think that most of the drama is handled terribly on this show. In particular, the love story between Glenn and Maggie seems very forced and awkward; they have no on-screen chemistry. The story lines with Carl and Sophia were incredibly slow to advance, and while they were the two biggest pieces of the plot for the season, the pacing of them was boring and just felt like a nuisance that was preventing any real action from happening. The execs cut the budget for the show, so they stretch it out by putting the characters out in Mayberry with hardly any action except for a zombie in a well?!




The second season made me lose interest in the show, so i'll wait to read what you guys say about the new season before I bother watching it. The art style in the comics might be a little crude and cartoony, but at least the story moves at a solid pace and has some more rewarding conclusions.

Sophia's mom dealing with her death-death, everyone deciding which was the correct way (Shane or Rick's), the girl collapsing in shock while her father/grandfather is out drinking, Lori going out to look for them and gets in accident and then the two dudes coming into the bar.

The thinner guy did a very good job of playing sneaky, it was a great, tense scene! And what a cliff-hanger! Next week can't come soon enough!

Well..i watched talking dead last night and thats been a huge complaint about this season. The EP said you will be seeing more zombies going forward.

Were they really bad news? Any more than what Hershel thought of Rick, Shane, and the rest of their gang when they came to the farm? Yes, the 2 dudes had guns, but so did Rick and Shane when they first came to the farm. I think the point of this scene was to make Rick understand more how Hershel felt when Rick's people first came to the farm. Killing those two guys was actually hypocritical of Rick. Imagine if Hershel first greeted Rick's people the same way.

I didn't really see any point to those two getting killed at the end. I blinked and there they were. I blinked again and they were gone. I would like to get some story on other survivors. I am getting bored with the farm. It needs to move a long now that Sophia is dead.

Two new characters introduced was great to see and while I was not sorry to see the obnoxious heavy guy get killed but I was disappointed that the Michael Raymond James character died so soon. Rick reminded me of Timothy Olyphant in Justified when he quick on the trigger shot him in that scene Michael Raymond is terrific actor and not all that shabby in the looks department either so it would have been great to see him stay on the show. oh well.
Then there is Lori, the story never went back to her after she crashed her car after hitting that walker.

I agree on the farm... form what I've read, it's a management issue -- the people with the checkbooks want the show to save money by reusing the same sets as much as possible. it's cheaper to film 2 scenes at the farm than 2 scenes in two different locations.

As much as I like the walking dead Mad men deserves the money. That's a really good show. The walking dead's first 5 episodes of season 1 were fantastic. Really on the edge of your seat. Now it's getting boring and just cruel at times. I swear in the graphic novels Carl kills Shane early on by shooting him. He is confused over the living and the dead. And doesn't Rick lose his hand or something in the comics? I read some of them long ago. And Laurie is still annoying as fuck. I hope that car crash did her in. She adds nothing to the show.

I love this show as well, the good and bad, i make a point to watch it and support it. I read the first comic...but now i want to stay away from them bc i dont want to compare the show and the comics.

If you ever watch "The Talking Dead" then you will find out a little more of what the director, producer and fans are wanting for this show on a fan base.

They already said it will not have 70% of the comic book story line. More zombies will be populated into the series. More human characters will come and go (die). The farm is just ground setting to bring forth the season two finale and forthcoming third season.

They are listening to fans because they want the show to continue with it success. It is the #1 most watched cable show on Sundays now that the football season is over.

Just sit back and enjoy it to see what happens because if you keep thinking the comic book storyline, you will be disappointed. Plus, if I read the comic books, it is not a golden rule for the TV version to be the same. It leaves the story to no new horizons and predictable.

Sit back, tune in on AMC and enjoy !!!

Ya i saw it. Still moving kinda slow this season. Whats his face so should have not shaven his head. However, it really does make him look more like the villain of the show--in which he is. And makes a damn good one. I have no idea on where the series is going now. This farm situation was cool for a second but focusing it around this entire season kind of sucks. I want to see them back in the streets, malls and in strain-full scary situations. Bring in more people so we can have a larger kill count.....Ah yes. And anyone notice the young guy who was bed side with the old mans wife ? WHo is that ive never seen him the entire season. Well im watching.

Things do not look good for Lori at this point...maybe she'll somehow survive the crash, but gets bit by a zombie and spends the rest of her pregnancy tied to a bed ala "The Dawn the Dead?"
Yeah, I think she's on her way out and I'm kinda excited to see her go. I also think Hershel's gonna die too, and Maggie will leave the farm with Glen and the rest of the group.
