Hey Dawson,
My first impression with the latest chapter is that Lane may be burning a bridge that he may regret later. Ryan may be a suave young resident, but he also had a very big ego. He wasn't too cool with Lane until he found out who his dad was. Of course Lane wasn't an angel during their conversation either. I give Jared one star for being the first to make contact. Whether it was by Facebook or texting the thought was there, but then again, who am I to question which form of communications teenagers find the most appropriate.
There were too many good times that Lane and Jared shared and to let that slip with one little spat boggles my mind. Lane may be walking into a situation with Ryan that he might not be able to handle. But, you are writing this story and I certainly like reading it, so don't pay me any mind.......lol

CHAPTER 29

So, I went to bed and got a good night’s sleep! I was dreaming about a lot of good things! From Dr. Portland to the times that Jared & I had together, my dreams that night were definitely fulfilled!

As I woke the next morning, I had a bit of a headache. I knew that I hadn’t had that much to drink, but couldn’t figure out why I was having a headache, then I remembered all of the action that had been happening on Facebook, and I wanted to see if I had anymore messages. I quickly looked at my phone and saw that I had a notification from Facebook that I had received another message from Ryan! Yay!

I raced to the computer and logged on. I was so excited and it showed because I typed my password wrong 4 times and then realized that it was my email that was wrong. I hate when that happens. I noticed that he sent me a response last night like 15 minutes after I had sent him that message. Damn! I was hoping that it wouldn’t have been last night, that it would’ve been this morning.

But before reading what he said, I remembered that Jared had sent me another message last night and I never responded to it. That also meant that I was going to! I always had to have the last word in, whether it was a fight with a friend or my parents, I always had to get the last word it. I know, it was a little childish, but what can I say? Ha! So I sent Jared this:

Now, it was to see what Ryan had sent me:

Hey there!

I am glad that you finally responded. I was getting a little uneasy when it took you some time to get back with me. I was afraid maybe I had scared you.

Well, I am glad that you’re just as happy as I am that I found you on here too! Most of my hunches are right.. and this one was no other exception. Lol. So, I was right about you being gay. How convenient!

Well, let me just say this… I think that your ex was a very lucky guy because he got to spend all of his time with you. I did notice you that night and thought to myself, “Wow! He could be a lot of fun!” Then when you turned out to be a little bit on the witty and arrogant side, I wasn’t sure what to think, but then quickly noticed you were just trying to irritate me, and it worked! That was also another instance when I thought to myself that I could definitely be friends with you.. and maybe something more.

Well, I realize it’s late and such, I should be going to bed. I also have to work all day tomorrow at the hospital. So, text me!

HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! That was the only thing that I could be thinking about right now. He wanted to get with me, he gave me my number, AND he thought I was arrogant. I will give him all of those, and I was acting arrogant that night, but it was just to piss him off, like he said. So it worked and I had laid an unexpected trap that I didn’t know I was laying and had no intentions of laying. So I texted him!

A couple more weeks had went by and the snow and such was gone and it was back to school for everybody! It’s such a depressing time to go back to school when you’re off for two weeks for Christmas break, go to school for 5 weeks and then off again for another 2 weeks. You just can’t get back in the groove of going to school again. Things with me and Jared were pretty much nonexistent. It was a little sad at first, but then I was starting to get over him with each text Ryan and I sent back a forth.

Ryan and I had some very interesting text conversations. We talked about anything and everything. I learned that he was a straight A student in high school, graduated with honors in college. His favorite food was Italian, color green, vacation spot was anywhere with a beach, ultimate vacation destination was London, and not really a pet lover, other than his Pug named Steve! I did make fun of him for having a Pug, but he did send me a few pictures of him and he was kind of cute. Kind of!

It was the Wednesday before Spring Break, and that also meant it was time for the State Championship Basketball Tournament! I was a big fan of basketball, I didn’t play in high school, but I was more of a fan of the girls team than the boys. The boys team just downright sucked all the time I was in high school, but the girls made it to state all four years when I was in high school and won state two of those years. They were the defending state champions and things were looking good again, so I was more than ready to cheer them on! My little cousin was also on the team, so that meant that all of my family would be going to watch the team play, so dad and Sharon flew down for the long weekend and would be taking me and Dawson back with him to Chicago for Spring Break. I kind of wanted to go somewhere on a vacation, but thought I’d have more than enough time away from home once summer got here, because I has already had 4 vacations planned right now, and this was only March!

The weekend was over before I knew it and all of the people in my town were ecstatic! The girls had won state again!! So I was also in a chipper mood for the flight back to Chicago. I had told Ryan that I was coming up there and we made plans to go to dinner one night and hang out some more. I knew Dawson would be all about it, but I wasn’t sure how I was going to be able to tell my dad about me new friendship/relationship. Ryan & I hadn’t made anything official, but it was definitely going good!

Once we landed in Chicago, we all turned our phones back on and dad saw that there was an emergency at the hospital. He gave us the option of going with Sharon or with him; Dawson and I chose to go to the hospital with him. I think it kind of annoyed dad and upset Sharon, but I didn’t care. I still wasn’t much of a fan of her since all that shit went down over Christmas Break with me and Spencer and her. So whatever. I didn’t care.

En route to the hospital, I texted Ryan and told him that I was on my way there and told him what dad had told us, and Ryan knew what was going on and said that it was possibly bad, but would have to wait to explain it to me once I got there.

It was late Sunday night and most of the time the hospital is really quiet and calm on the weekends and there is only a skeleton crew of doctors, nurses, and techs working, and once I found out who was working, I decided that I would make my “rounds” and go say hello to each of the doctors and nurses that I personally knew and the ones that I knew that liked me. All of dad’s friends were all about me! They absolutely loved me and I couldn’t blame them! Ha.

The doctors that I mainly wanted to see were some of dad’s best friends and they were the ones who were invited that New Year’s Eve night to dad’s house for the party, so most of them knew Dawson too! So, it wasn’t completely uncomfortable for him to be there with me either. We had been at the hospital for almost an hour and that’s when I finally made my way to the Emergency Room to find Ryan! Found him! He came over and talked to us and I introduced him to Dawson. Dawson’s mouth was watering and his eyes were glazed, but it wasn’t nothing a step on the foot couldn’t take care of!

Ryan told us what was going on. Something had happened with some of the staff members upstairs and they weren’t sure what was going on with them. I was only half paying attention, so I didn’t really care either! I learned that Ryan only had about 30 more minutes on his shift and the doctor that was to replace him was just now showing up. So that meant he could leave in about 20 minutes. I had Ryan page dad and once he called I asked how much longer he was going to be, he informed me he wasn’t sure; anywhere from an hour to 4 hours. So, I told him that Dawson & I would be going to dinner with some of the doctors in the ER and some of them that were on call. He asked if I would bring him something back. I obliged!

That week was heavenly! Not to mention that it went by WAY too fast! Before I knew it, it was Sunday morning and it was time to go back home. I was disappointed, but knew I was this much closer to graduation! Dylan was in Chicago for the week, so Dawson and he got to spend some time together, and that meant that I got to spend that much more time with Ryan. We hung out at his apartment watching movies, sitting in the hot tub, going shopping, eating out! I was really falling for him and I hoped that he was doing the same. On Friday night, I had to tell him goodbye, because he was leaving town for business early the next morning and wouldn’t be back in Chicago until I was already back home. That was the first night that we kissed. It was electrifying!

CHAPTER 30

After Spring Break, things at school were going by a lot faster than I had anticipated. There were only a few short weeks left of school and there were tons of senior things that had to be taken care of. Senior awards assembly, end of the year banquets, prom, baccalaureate, graduation… it was all coming to an end! I still had Dawson and Kelli by my side and the other 4 mutual friends that we all had that were inseparable! I loved my friends so much and the things that we did were freaking ridiculous. I was still texting and talking to Ryan everyday. We would text all through the day and then we would talk off and on when we had the chance at least 3 times a day. I was beginning to fall for him if I hadn’t already.

Dawson and I had decided that the first weekend that the two of us could get away, we were going to spend the weekend in Chicago! That weekend came in mid April. The two of us finally had one weekend free and it looked like it would be the only one until the middle or end of June. It was very depressing knowing that we are that busy all of the time, but also knew that the two of us would be doing some serious bonding before going to school in August.

The weekend was finally here! Just like clockwork, dad landed at the airport at 1:30 in the afternoon, ran and got a quick bite to eat and then Dawson and I met him at the airport to head for a weekend filled with mischief in Chicago! It was 3:45 when we landed and were finally in dad’s Mercedes SUV and heading to the hospital for him to pick up a few papers and sign a couple dozen files.

Ryan knew that I was coming to Chicago for the weekend, but had originally told him that I would be there later in the evening, so I thought that it was appropriate that I just let him think that I wouldn’t be there until then. So I marched to the emergency room and found that he was working. I saw him before he saw me and I just stood and stared at him for a couple of seconds. He was absolutely gorgeous.

He stood 6’3”, weighed about 225, solid muscle, black hair, brown eyes, was pretty tan, and had a gorgeous smile. His teeth were perfectly straight and were the whitest I had ever seen. When he smiled his mouth just popped with electricity. He turned and saw me and his entire face just lit up. I knew that he was in love with me from the way he acted. He hurried as fast as he could over to me and wrapped his arms around me and whispered in my ear.

“Holy shit!” He started. “I didn’t think you were coming so soon! Wow, you look incredible.”

I blushed.

“Thanks!” I managed to say. “You look pretty good yourself.”

He acknowledged Dawson and the three of us chatted it up before he was told that there were three ambulances on their way to the hospital because of a bad wreck on the interstate.

“Well, it looks like I’m going to be tied up for the next hour and a half. I’ll call you later and see what your plans are!” Ryan said as he hurried to get his station prepped.

Dawson and I turned to leave the ER and head to dad’s office when he said, “I think that you should invite me for a threesome the next time you guys have sex!”

I laughed and just gave him a go to hell look.

“Yeah, well I can promise you THAT isn’t going to happen, but good try! And believe me, the next time that we have sex, will be the first time and you’re definitely not invited to that one!” I laughed again.

We made it to dad’s office and found out that one of his really good friends was in the wreck and that he was just arriving at the hospital, so that meant that he was going to stay and be the go-to-man for the family whenever they arrived. He also announced that he was going to stay and be an extra pair of hands since they might be a little shorthanded. He told us that we could do whatever we wanted to do: take his car and drive around, stay at the hospital, go home, or just walk around downtown.

Dawson had finally told me about him and Dylan and that the two of them were pretty much in a relationship, but they hadn’t made anything official. They talked all the time and had some wild and crazy sex. He proceeded to tell me one of the times that they hooked up, but I told him that I just didn’t care that much and that he could save it for somebody who wasn’t related to him! He understood and apologized and then threatened me within an inch of my life that I had to tell him every little detail about mine and Ryan’s sex life whenever it became available. And thinking about that was making me a little on the horny side!

I had yet to see Ryan without anything other than underwear on and I could tell that he was packing some heat. I had seen my fair share of bulges here and there, but had also noticed that he was packing some SERIOUS heat. I couldn’t wait to see him in his Birthday Suit! Dawson and I were talking about what we wanted to do this weekend and I was reciting all of the local attractions that I was familiar with. He told me that he had never been to the Navy Pier, so it was a done deal that we would visit the Navy Pier this weekend! We made plans to do that tomorrow. It would be Dawson and Dylan and Ryan and I! I could hardly wait! We were double dating!!

The wreck turned out to be some pretty serious stuff and the family was taking it pretty hard. Dad had called Sharon and she was now in the waiting room with the guy’s wife and some other lady I had never seen before. I had met the guy that was in the wreck and his wife only once and couldn’t remember their names, so I did that awkward moment of just eavesdropping on their conversation but I had no such luck before Sharon called out.

“Lane, don’t you remember Mrs. Cooper?” She asked me.

“Oh, yes!” I replied when shaking Mrs. Cooper’s hand. “It’s very nice to see you again, Mrs. Cooper, but not under these circumstances.”

She was saying something else, but Ryan had walked out of the ER and was talking with another family across the room and my eyes were glued on him. I wasn’t sure what she had said, but instantly snapped back to the conversation I was supposed to be having with Mrs. Cooper and Sharon when Sharon suddenly said.

“Lane,” She said sternly. “Can I have a moment with you? In private. Now.”

Oh shit!

We walked around the corner to a little more secluded part of the waiting room where she proceeded to chew me out.

“I’m not sure what’s been up your ass lately, but you’ve hardly talked to me, you won’t look at me, and I’ll be damned if you haven’t even talked to Spencer. If this has anything to do with the fact of what he did to you over the holidays, you just need to get the hell over it. Grow up and quit acting so God Damn immature. You’re a fucking senior in high school and you need to start fucking acting like one. And now, with Mrs. Cooper, you didn’t even show your manners when talking to her. That’s unacceptable and it better not ever happen again. Do you understand me, you prick?”

I just stared at her. More like glared at her. And let me tell you, if looks could kill, she would have been dead with the look that I was giving her.

“Don’t you ever talk to me like that again, Sharon. Do you understand ME?” I snapped back.

“I will not be talked to like that in that tone from you. You’re grounded this weekend. You will not leave our house until it’s time for you to go back to Oklahoma. Got it?” She said.

“Yeah, well we will see about that, now won’t we?” I smirked in return and stormed off.

Dawson met me half way and asked what was going on.

“She’s a bitch. ‘nuff said,” I responded.

He laughed. Sharon saw. Sharon shot us look. We left.

I would deal with her when I got home later. I didn’t think that I was appropriate for me to show my ass in public, especially in my dad’s place of employment, and I was NOT about to let her have the last fucking word. You know me, always got to put my two cents in!

Dad came back out to the waiting room just a couple minutes later and announced that Mr. Cooper was going to be fine, but it was upon his recommendation that he be admitted to the hospital and stay over night. Mrs. Cooper didn’t object and Sharon volunteered to stay with her. I agreed with Sharon’s statement and she shot me a go to hell look. I just gave her my best cheesy smile in return.

Even though they had only been married for a short time, she was still uncertain for how to take me sometimes. And she was never prepared for what was going to come out of my mouth. She was also never prepared for my dad to always take my side in matters and end up doing what I wanted to do. So when she told my dad that she wanted to talk with him before he left, I rapidly told dad that Dawson and I were hungry and that they could talk later in the night. He needed to go feed us. Dawson agreed with me and my dad couldn’t say no to us. By this time Dylan was at the hospital with us and I was pretty sure that he and Dawson had made a special trip to the restroom to “release some tension.” Sharon was pissed that dad had agreed with my comment about how they could talk later and soon, dad, Dylan, Dawson and I were in the car heading to eat. I knew that I would get yelled at that for later, but I knew that it would happen at our house and I would raise hell with her and she wouldn’t win the next talking that we had. I always win and she needed to be reminded of that.

While we were at dinner I got a notification on my phone that some guy named Trey wanted to be friends on Facebook. I wasn’t exactly sure who he was and we and no mutual friends. The only similarity that we had between the two of us was that we were going to be going to the same university in the fall, so I decided that I would accept his friend request. While we were waiting for our food, I decided that I should creep on him. He wasn’t bad at all, really cute, had an incredible smile and looked like a lot of fun. It was when our food was arriving that I noticed I had a message from him and he informed me that the two of us were going to be roommates!

Whenever Jared and I broke up, I deleted him from my roommate list and was open to whoever wanted to be my roommate. And since you only get one deleted person, Trey and I were going to be roommates and there wasn’t anything the two of us could do about until school started.

I will say that Ryan was right on with his first impression of Lane. Lane tends to be heavy on the arrogant side. He has the attitude that he can do no wrong, but he may find that one day his Dad will wake up and take Sharon's side. It's hard for me to understand how or why he would be so disrespectful to his father's wife. That type of arrogance will only get him in trouble later on in life. Even Ryan may find it unattractive later in their relationship. But, on to the next chapter.

CHAPTER 31

I had replied to Trey’s message and told him that I was very excited that the two of us would be roommates. We had chatted off and on for the next couple of days. But, all of that is irrelevant. What’s relevant is what was happening in the Windy City!!

The four of us went to a Pizza parlor somewhere in town and got some delicious pizza. Nothing could beat Chicago-style pizza! Dad was striking conversations with us all during dinner and was asking us what if there was any exciting news that we needed to share.

“Well,” I started. “Dawson made the cheer team at his D1 University!”

“Wow!” Dad exclaimed. “Congratulations, Dawson! I can’t wait to come to a football game and watch you cheer!”

That was mainly the climatic topic during our conversations. Dad did ask Dylan how college was going and asked Dawson and I if we had for sure decided on majors. Dawson was going to be majoring in Zoology and minoring in Pre-Dentistry. I wasn’t sure why he was going into Zoology and then on to Dental school, but more power to him! As for me, I told dad that I would be majoring in Biochemistry with an option in Pre-Med on the Dental side. He laughed and said that he couldn’t be more proud that I was going to pursue a medical career. Such a stereotypical doctor!

Just as dinner was finishing, Dylan got up to go to the bathroom and dad was going to go outside to call and check on Mr. Cooper, but I kicked him under the table and he, surprisingly, got the hint.

“I’m not sure what’s been up with Sharon lately, but she jumped me at the hospital earlier, and I’m not ok with that,” I said. “If you don’t take care of it, I will.”

Dad just stared at me for a little bit and then said, “I’m not sure what’s been up with her either. But I do know that she hasn’t been the same since you and Spencer’s little incident. I know he can be a shit, but you’ve just go to get over it.”

“Yeah,” I interrupted. “I’m not about to get over it. He’s a turd and I don’t like him. In fact, his own brother doesn’t like him, dad.”

“Well, that may be the case, but she’s still your step-mother and you do need to show her respect regardless of if you don’t like her son. Just make an attempt to get along with the two of them this weekend.” He replied.

“Don’t count on it.” I said smirking as Dylan returned to the table.

Dad paid the bill and we were back in the car heading back to the hospital for dad to check on Mr. Cooper.

As we were exiting the elevator, Sharon saw us and started telling dad about something involving Mr. Cooper. Dawson and I just sat back and stared at the two of them. I could tell that dad was getting annoyed about her constantly bitching about something. Yes, she was a medical director at another hospital, but she had no room coming into her husband’s, my dad’s, hospital and telling him how to run it. Dad eventually got fed up with her and walked off from their conversation. This gave me the ample opportunity I needed to confront her. I brushed heavily passed Dawson as I was heading for Sharon hoping he’d get the hint and either follow me or make sure that he took Dylan somewhere else. She was standing in a pissed stance with her arms crossed, I put my left hand through her arm and pulled her down the hall so we could have a little bit of privacy.

“What the hell are you doing?” She asked angrily.

I ignored her and kept dragging her down the hall. She was being really hesitant about coming with me, and who could blamer her?! We finally found a dimly lit hallway that I led her down, let go of her arm, and made the first move.

“Listen here, Sharon,” I said sternly. “I’m sure you know what we’re going to talk about, so get ready! Don’t you EVER call me out on ANYTHING EVER again. Do you understand? I mean it, don’t you EVER. As for me not talking to Spencer, well hell no I’m not going to talk to that little shit. I can’t freaking stand him and I’m not about to go out of MY way to talk to HIM! Got it? So, I don’t need you breathing down my neck as to when I should and shouldn’t talk to him. Understand? Don’t you EVER, and I mean EVER, think that you’re going to have the authority to tell me anything. Also, do you know when the last time was that I got grounded? Like, when I was 3. So, I really don’t think YOU are going to get me ‘grounded’ so you shouldn’t even use that word around me and in my direction. If that’s how you threaten Dylan and Spencer, more power to you, but that’s not going to work with me from my parents, and it’s for damn sure not going to work with me from my stepmom.”

She was speechless. I turned to walk away and remembered one more thing that I wanted to say, so as I was already passed her I turned back around and shot back.

“Also, you might be my dad’s wife, but that does NOT mean that you’re MY mom. You’re my stepmom and you need to learn you place. Also, another thing that you need to take into consideration is the fact that my dad will ALWAYS take my side over you. Why? Because I’m his SON, so don’t you ever EVER fucking forget that.”

I walked out of the hallway and was met by Dawson. His jaw was dropped and I could tell that he had been eavesdropping on us. I didn’t care, that just gave me one more witness, because I was sure that she was heading to tell my dad about some off the wall story that I had just done. Whatever. I didn’t care anymore about her or Spencer. They could both just fuck off.

As Dawson and I were walking back to the floor’s elevator he told me that Ryan had came up here and was looking for me and said that he was looking pretty irritated and it looked like he needed to talk to me as soon as I was back. So, I asked Dawson to go with me and look for him in the ER. We found him!!

“Hey, Dawson said you needed to talk to me,” I said to him.

He turned around. He looked really scared.

“Ryan, what’s wrong?” I asked.

“Here, let’s go outside,” He said to me as he lightly pushed me towards to door.

As soon as we were around the entrance to the ER, I’m assuming the designated smoking area, but wasn’t for certain, Ryan wrapped me in a hug, resting his chin on my head. I wasn’t sure what to do, so I just wrapped my arms around his torso and lower back to return the hug. After about 3 minutes, he broke the hug and I looked into his eyes, I could tell he’d be crying.

“Lane,” He started. “I’m not exactly sure how to tell you this, but, I’ve messed up.”

Well, that had set my mind at ease, because I was beginning to think that something serious happened.

“Ok, Ryan, just tell me,” I said.

“Well, I don’t like when people beat around the bush, so I’m just going to admit it. Lane, I’m going to be a dad,” He said.

Well! That's a nice pickle Ryan got himself into. I can see Lane's world crumbling.

Alright, well thank you for voicing your opinion about this issue.. Although, I have a lot of this story already written and am posting some here and there to get this going, I am not sure what to say in this matter. I do thank you for voicing your opinion, but if this is how you feel, and how another reader feels, I fear that the next chapter may be the last installment that I post here.

Lane is a rude little shit! I don't care how angry you are at someone, I would have NEVER talked to an adult that way when I was a kid, and I would never talk to someone who was an adult when I was a child that way either! He really needs to be straightened out. I agree with Craiger, and I feel sorry for Sharon, she may be a bitch, but no woman, or adult deserves that kind of lip, my mother would have slapped the shit out of me! and with good reason. Lane didn't deserve Jared, doesn't deserve Ryan. He'll end up with an unsuspecting Trey, oh joy. His statements were, UNcalled for amd UNcceptable, lol I cant believe Im getting all worked up over a story but this makes me VERY angry
but Kudos to your writing! I love the fact that everything isnt all 'hunkydory' in your stories

CHAPTER 32

I just looked up at him not knowing exactly what to think, I wasn’t sure what to think or say. I just looked at him, blinked like thirty times, and backed up. I breathed deeply and proceeded to say something.

“Uh… Uh… Uh…. Uh…. Wow,” was all I could manage to say.

“Alright, well, congratulations,” I finally managed to utter.

I felt that was convenient and turned to walk off.

“Lane!” Ryan shouted, but I ignored him and kept walking to the entrance of the hospital.

I found Dawson where I had left him and told him to get the fuck to the elevator. Once we were on the elevator, I wrapped my arms around him. I thought I wanted to cry, but no tears came out.

“He’s going to be a dad,” I said before he had the chance to ask me what happened.

“What?!?!” Dawson exclaimed.

“Yeah, my thoughts exactly,” I said.

Before the elevator stopped at the floor we were to get off, I had released my grip on Dawson and we exited the elevator and went and found my dad. We entered the waiting room on the floor and found all of Mr. Cooper’s family and dad and Sharon. Sharon had pulled dad off to the side and I could only imagine what she was telling him. I started laughing at the sight, just to show her I could be a bitch! Dad turned and looked at a Dawson and I, held up his hand for Sharon to stop talking and proceeded to walk over to us.

“Are you all about ready to head home?” Dad asked us.

“Yes,” Dawson and I said in unison.

“Alright,” he said. “Why don’t you run up to my office, collect my briefcase and bag, get the keys and come back down here and we will head home.”

Not answering him, the two of us went back and pushed the down button on the elevator. Just as the elevator opened for us to get on, Ryan was exiting. My stomach sank.

“Can we talk?” He asked me.

“Sure!” I replied.

Dawson was standing in front of me and went to get out of line so he could catch the next elevator, but as he was getting out of my way, I pushed him into the elevator so he would know that I didn’t want him leaving me alone with him. I could tell from Ryan’s expression that he wasn’t too pleased with Dawson being there.

“I tried to text and call you, Lane,” He said before the doors had time to open.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that. I am really not sure where my phone is,” I replied to him trying to sound sincere.

I really don’t remember where my phone was. I was hoping that it was in dad’s office, but I don’t remember going back up there after getting back to the hospital after going and eating pizza.

“Are you ever going to talk to me again?” Ryan asked.

I thought to myself how stupid of a question that was and eventually said it.

“Well that’s a stupid question, Ryan,” I said. “Of course I’m going to talk to you, I will always be here for you and be your friend, but as for you and I ‘talking’ that isn’t going to happen. I think that you need to step up and be a dad for you child and know that you’re going to always be there for him or her. And I will always be here for you, just not like that anymore, just as a friend. Whenever you need to talk to me you can!”

“Thanks, Lane,” He said. “That means so much to me. I’m sorry. I really am.”

“You don’t have to explain anything to me. In fact, I’d prefer that you didn’t,” I said.

Just as the doors to the elevator were opening, I walked over to him and gave him one final hug. He hugged me back and I could tell that everything between us was ok. Hell, he even hugged Dawson, and the entire walk back to my dad’s office, Dawson was beaming!

The two of us walked into dad’s office and I located all of the things that my dad told me to get and laid them on the desk. Dad’s office had a door that was glass, but it was the textured glass so you couldn’t see through it and it was retractable, like, it wouldn’t stay open, it just automatically closed.

I’m not sure what came over me, but I just really couldn’t help myself, I walked over to Dawson, hugged him one last time and told him thank you for always being there for me. I broke the hug, brought my hands to my side and just looked at him and smiled.

“What?” He asked.

“Nothing,” I said. “Can I not just look at you?”

Before he had time to answer, I put my left hand on his neck and cheek and my right hand on his side and brought my face closer to his for a deep kiss. I kissed him long and hard right there in the middle of my dad’s office. I slid my tongue in his mouth first and explored all of the places I could find before I noticed that Dawson had wrapped his hands around my waist and was massaging my ass and had his tongue now in my mouth. After kissing, I still kept my eyes closed and rested my forehead on the side of his face. We were breathing heavy and I could hear his heartbeat—it was racing! I hugged him one last time and kissed him on the lips before letting go of him, this time it was just a peck and no tongue action. We collected dad’s things and walked back to the elevator.

After the elevator door opened I kissed him one more time, but this time it was on the cheek. He was smiling so big now, and I was too! I couldn’t believe that I had actually done that. I was stealing my brother’s boyfriend. Yuck! I couldn’t believe that I was doing that, but hell, he was my friend, not to mention my fuck buddy, first! Just as the elevator clicked on the 8th floor I reached over and gave Dawson’s bulge and good firm squeeze. He moaned audibly. I started massaging his crotch and just as the elevator dinged, I released my hold and looked and saw that he had a hard on that was noticeable. The door opened and I exited and he stayed back a little bit and had dad’s briefcase in front of his crotch trying to hide anything from sticking out his pants.

Sitting in the waiting room, I just couldn’t help but stare at Dawson. He was such a great friend, he was really cute, had always been there for me, and was a great family friend. I think I was in love.

He noticed me staring at him and he just smiled back at me. Wow! That smile was incredible. He had worn braces for 2 years and they had really helped him. He and I had started tanning for prom and it was noticeable on him. That made his green eyes and white teeth pop even more!

Getting into dad’s car to go home, Dawson and I got in the backseat and Dylan and dad took the front. Before we got out of the parking lot, Dawson reached over, squeezed my thigh and just rested his hand on the inner most of my thigh for a good three miles, before taking my hand into his and holding it the rest of the way home.

CHAPTER 33

I’ve always heard that you never know what you have until it’s gone. Well, I will be the first to admit to that! I really didn’t know what I had until it was gone, and the feelings that I was having towards Dawson were almost uncontrollable. I couldn’t believe myself. Part of me just wanted to push them to the side and ignore them since he was “dating” my stepbrother, but then another part of me wanted to interfere with that relationship just like he did with Jared and I. I was at a lost. I didn’t know what to do.

Upon arriving at dad’s house, we all got out of the car and headed inside. Dad and Dylan helped Dawson and I with our bags and went and placed them in our rooms, and once again, I would be sharing a bed with somebody else while visiting my dad—Dawson!

Dad and Dylan left the room and it was only Dawson and I in there, I hadn’t quite figured out where the hell Spencer was, but that was the lease of my damn worries. A lot of crap has happened within the last couple of hours, and I wasn’t sure how much longer I could hold on, and Dawson was seeing that. He walked over to me, brushed my hair a little, and softly stroked my cheek. I couldn’t help myself, I let one tear escape and slide down my face, and he instantly wiped it up with the hand that was on my face. I walked towards him to close the gap between up and just wrapped my arms around his waist and buried my head in his neck. I wasn’t crying that much, but I just wanted to be held by somebody who know me and what was going on with me. Dawson wrapped his arms around my shoulders and was rubbing my back, similar to how you would try to get a baby to burp! I had to smile at this, but then knew that he wouldn’t let anything or anybody do anything to me. I did love him; he was my best friend in the entire world!

I’m not sure how long we were standing in my room just hugging one another, but it didn’t seem like it was that long, before Dawson removed his hands from my back and placed them on my shoulders lifting me up to look him in the face.

He opened his mouth to talk a couple of times, but nothing ever came out, so I puckered up and kissed him on the lips. After backing up and opening my eyes again, I could see that his eyes were still closed and he had the biggest smile ever and the pretty much just melted my heart.

We crawled into bed together a short time later. When I awoke the next morning, my head was on his chest and he had his arms wrapped around me so tight that he didn’t want me going anywhere in the middle of the night. I just exhaled softly and savored the moment.

Before I knew it, it was already Sunday morning and it was time for us to head to the airport so my dad could fly us back to my mom’s house. It was always bittersweet when leaving Chicago. I absolutely loved that city so much! Dawson and I said our goodbyes to the few people that we at the house at the time of our departure and to Dylan and Sharon. The hug that I gave her was kind of awkward, but nonetheless, she did return a hug!

An hour and a half later, we were on the ground and loading our bags into my car at the airport in town. We gave dad a hug and told him thanks for letting us spend the weekend with him and then I offered to get him something to eat, but he declined the offer and said that he was thinking about flying to Colorado to pick up some dinner and take it back home to Sharon. He told us that we needed to not slack off during the last couple of weeks of school and that he would see the two of us the weekend before graduation. I gave him one last hug and waited to walk to my car until he was taxiing for the runway. I didn’t leave the airport until I couldn’t see him any longer and knew that he was going to be fine. I wasn’t exactly sure when it happened, but sometime while I was watching my dad takeoff, Dawson had slipped his hand into mine and our hands were resting on the center console of my car. I looked over and smiled at him again.

“Lane,” He said. “I think we need to talk.”

I smiled, “Yes, I think you’re right.”

During the 15-minute drive to get his car, which was still parked at school, we got all of the talking done. I had found out that he and Dylan had only had sex one time and that was the New Year’s Eve night that Jared and I caught them in the backseat of Dylan’s BMW. Other than that, they really hadn’t done much of anything. Dylan just wanted to know what it was like and was curious about it all and such and Dawson was happy to give him what he wanted! What a whore!

When entering the parking lot to school, I headed for Dawson’s assigned parking spot up on the front row. Pulling up behind it so we could unload his stuff, the two of us got out. After getting everything out of my car that was his and into his car, he asked if I wanted to come over later tonight.

“I would really like to, but I’m so tired that I don’t think that I will leave my house after I get home! But, if I change my mind, I’ll definitely call you and let you know, but if you want to, you’re more than welcome to come over to my house!” I said.

We said bye to each other and hugged again and he thanked me for letting him go to Chicago with me and the two of us were in our cars and pulling onto the road heading to our own houses.

Pulling into my driveway, I saw that mom and Joe were outside doing yard work, ‘Oh joy, this is how I get to spend the rest of my fucking day. Yay!’ I thought to myself. I pulled into the garage and got all of my bags out of the car. I knew that Joe’s birthday was coming up, so I did some shopping while I was gone and got him some of his favorite cologne, a new briefcase, and a leather bound notebook organizer thing that I had personalized with his initials. I knew he would like everything and I walked out to the front yard and asked my mom if she would come and help me with a few things inside.

I showed her the things and she loved them all. I told him that if she wanted to give him the briefcase, that’d be fine, but I was giving him the notebook thing and the cologne, but she told me that she had already gotten him some stuff and that she had picked up a couple of things that were from “me.” So, this would be a birthday that Joe was going to be getting a lot of presents for! I was more than happy to do that for him, because he definitely did deserve it! He was great! Not better than my dad, but I was very proud to call him my step dad, or better yet, my second dad!

I had gotten all of my bags unpack and my room back in order since being gone for the weekend and headed downstairs to find something to eat. Mom told me that we were either going to go out to eat tonight or we would order a pizza and have it delivered. I didn’t care either way, just as long as I got fed. In the mean time, Dawson had texted me and said that he was going to come over and I relayed the message to mom. She was happy and then went to say that she would just probably go ahead and cook something for dinner tonight since Dawson would be coming over. I laughed and told her that I was glad that she was going to be cooking for my friends, but when it came to me, I had to rely on another restaurant. We laughed and then she asked me what I wanted for dinner… decisions, decisions!!

Mom and I started the prep work for some Lasagna! I called to see where Dawson was and would mind if he would stop at the grocery store in town to get some stuff for some salad. After we had everything made the four of us sat down for dinner. We had 14-layer lasagna, tossed salad, garlic bread, cherry tomatoes, and a lemon sweet tart for desert!

It had been a couple of weeks since I had been to a private tumbling lesson and Dawson had been to a couple of other private lessons without me since he was trying out for the cheer team at college and since he made it, he had already gone to the conditioning coach and has had a private lesson with him, so I decided that I was going to go to the backyard and warm up on the trampoline and the eventually make my way to the ground and do some passes.

I started out with my normal warm-up routine; 1 back handspring (BHS), 2 BHS, 3 BHS, 3 BHS to a tuck, 2 BHS to a tuck, 1 BHS to a tuck, and a standing tuck. (For those of you who don’t know, a back handspring, or BHS, is when you flip all the way over, but you use your hands as support, keeping your legs locked at the knees and your feet as tight together as you can. And a back tuck, or tuck, is when you flip all the way over without using your hands to support you. You want to bring your knees as close to your chest as you can, almost like your in the fetal position and use your arms as your motivation to get started until your flipping and then wrap your arms around your knees so you’re looking like a ball!)

After I finished with the first set of warm-ups, I decided that I had better stretch a little bit, but that didn’t take too long, and I always notice how much more flexible I am becoming when I am stretching. After I got up, I decided that I wanted to do a couple of passes, so I started out with a round off, then 3 BHS, and ending with a tuck. I seemed pretty pleased with the way that I was feeling when I did the pass that I wasn’t going to worry about getting on the trampoline or doing another pass, instead I started warming up my full. (A full is a combination of a back tuck and spinning in the air, not flipping, spinning! The key is that you don’t bend your legs, you keep as straight as you can and when your in the process of flipping, you start to turn your body.)

So, I started out with a standing tuck, to 2 BHS and a full. It was a little rusty and not good at first, so I did it again. On the third time, I was happy with it and went to the next thing. A standing tuck, 1 BHS, and a full. It was really good, but I needed to work on a little bit more speed. Ultimately I worked my way down and landed my standing full. Dawson was already in the middle of the yard showing off, but I wasn’t going to let him win, even though he was training on a collegiate level, I needed to keep up with him!

After an hour of pretty much nonstop tumbling, we were both beat! My knee was hurting and Dawson’s ankle was hurting, and after about 20 minutes, both of our wrists were hurting, but we didn’t stop, now they were on fire. We went inside and mom complimented us on everything that she had seen from the kitchen window, but she ran to get her video camera and wanted us to do 3 more passes so she could record them. I looked at Dawson and we both wanted to go back out and tumble so she could record it, but we weren’t sure if we physically could, but we ended up going back outside.

There were some passes that Dawson and I had done in the past as well as that day that we really like doing, and we have done them enough together that the synchronization together is incredible. We did the first two passes and the two of us were matching each other’s breathing; that’s how much we have done those passes together. And on the third and final one, we decided for a rather long pass, but thought that we could do it.

Dawson and I landed the last tuck together, but I wasn’t exactly sure how much we had kept up with each other through the rest of the pass, but thought that it wouldn’t have been too bad off if we both landed and stood together on the ending tuck! We were exhausted and as soon as I stood up to clean, I fell onto the grass breathing so hard that I thought I was going to die!

It was almost dark and I lay on the grass long enough that I was starting to itch everywhere, so that meant it was time to go inside and take a shower!! Walking up the stairs to the house and through the kitchen and up the stairs to the second floor, Dawson was following me every step of the way. Just as we entered my room, out of habit, I shut the door. Before I knew what was going on, Dawson had me up against the wall gagging me with his tongue. He was working on getting my shirt off of my head and I thought ‘what the hell,’ and started taking his off too. We broke our kissing just long enough to get our shirts off of our head, and then we were right back to making out. I started itching some more so I tried to push Dawson off of me so I could start walking to the shower so I could get it, but he wasn’t budging. This wasn’t like him. He was so dominant today! It was really turning me on!

Finally, I just turned my head and tried to act like I could breathe, which now thinking about it, it was becoming difficult to breathe when we were raping each other’s mouths with our tongues!

“I’m sorry, but I’ve got to take a shower. This itching as got to go!” I said to him as I was walking towards my bathroom.

I didn’t hear Dawson follow me, so I just left the bathroom door open a little bit, that away the steam could circulate through my bedroom. I turned the shower on, stripped, and stepped in the shower. Just as I was rinsing all of the sweat and grass off of me the door opened.

“Can I join you?” Dawson asked as he dropped his shirt.

CHAPTER 34

I looked at Dawson’s naked body in the light of my shower; he was gorgeous!

“If you w…” I started to say, but Dawson was already in the shower and had his tongue back down my throat.

We were standing in my shower, making out, with the water running off of my back. He had his hands on each of my ass cheeks rolling them around in his large hands. Our dicks were touching each other and we were both rock hard. I had my hands on his biceps, trying to keep him from pushing all the way up on me. Before too long, Dawson was the one standing under the water from the showerhead, and I was up against the wall.

“Wow!” I exclaimed. “You must really be horny!”

“You have no idea how long I have wanted you,” He said.

“I want you too, but for right now, I’ve got to take a shower and get cleaned up,” I replied. “Do you want to help me?”

We started with soaping up my body. He took the soap in his hand and started washing my shoulders, turned me around and washed my entire back, stopping right at my pant line, turned me around, kissed me again, and put some more soap in his hands and started at my neck. He went from my neck to my collarbone, a place where I am so ticklish that it isn’t even funny, and, of course, Dawson had to tickle me. From my collarbone, he went to my left pec, but played with my nipple a little more than was necessary, then over to the right one. He gradually made his way down farther south and massaged each of my abs he went over. I had forgotten at how great he was at giving massages, and now, I was determined that I would be getting a lot more from him, even if it meant that I had to give up sex! Just as he was finished up with my belly button, his face met mine again for another long, passionate, wet kiss. I’m not sure if I was just really horny, or the electricity in the kiss, but my knees buckled and I had already accepted the fact that I was going to fall in the shower, but the arm that Dawson had wrapped around my waist, that was also lathering up my ass cheeks and my crack, firmed up and kept me from falling. During Dawson’s heroic moment was when he was still kissing me, but my kiss turned into a smile, but Dawson didn’t care, he kept on kissing me. We finished up the shower, with him finished washing my entire body, and myself returning the favor, then we each did our own hair and face. Outside of the shower, we were standing in front of my bathroom mirror.

Now, I love my bathroom. I have a large lavatory area, large cabinets, a toilet, a bathtub, and then a shower that’s separate. When you walk through the large walnut door into the bathroom from my room, which is the only access into my bathroom, on the left is my medium sized shower. It has an 7-foot glass door, with a caramelized swirl marble inside to make up the walls and tile to make up the floor. When stepping out of the shower, onto the heated tile floor, you’re greeted with your naked body when looking into my three-fourths of the wall mirror, which hangs over my marble countered sink. The back wall of my bathroom is my toilet and my bathtub!

So, the two of us are butt-ass naked and we are standing in front of my mirror drying each other off. We were looking into each other’s eyes, in the mirror, when Dawson said that he would be right back. He returned with his iPhone.

CHAPTER 35

The next morning, Monday to be exact, was one of those mornings that it would just be way better if the entire world decided to take a day off. It was beginning to rain a little, the sun was nowhere to be found, and me, well, I hit the snooze on my alarm about 3 times too many. Before I knew it, I had 20 minutes to get ready and make the 15-minute drive to school; I was fucked!

Speeding into the parking lot at school, I was thankful that I was a senior and that I had the privilege of having ‘L. BOUDREAUX’ painted across a parking space on the front row into the school. I pulled into the parking lot, going about 35, and slammed on my breaks just in time before I hit the curb and busted through the wall. I really didn’t feel that it was necessary for me to have a lunch date with my Escalade; since the cafeteria is where my car would have ended up if I had stopped so soon. Dawson and I didn’t have another class together until after lunch, so when that time came, we were asked to run some errands in town for the teacher, so we left and went to Subway to grab some lunch. After that class was over, we were done for the day and didn’t have any other classes together, so we went over to another friend’s house, Marcus, along with Kelli, until it was time for us to have our night class later that evening.

Nothing really happened in between school and night class, but as soon as class was over, we went back to Marcus’s house for dinner that his mom cooked and played some board games together that we hadn’t played in a really long time. Nothing. Wonderful! So, I made some scrambled eggs for him, just the way he liked, and poured some orange juice for him and had toast just popping out of the toaster when he appeared at the foot of the stairs.

Joe was just walking out into the kitchen at that same time too, looked at Dawson and just laughed silently to him and the rubbed his head. Joe could so tell that Dawson was hung over. I laughed. Dawson moaned and Joe grabbed a piece of toast and walked out the door. He was so freaking cool when it came to things like these, especially since he was an attorney. Mom on the other hand, I believe wouldn’t be so cool, that’s why I was happy to see that she had already left for work before we got up. Then, that had me thinking for a minute. Should Dawson and I go ahead and go to school, or should we skip school today and just see what kind of shit we would do before the day was done?

Dawson was busy eating on his eggs and then finally noticed me thinking a little bit before he asked me what I was thinking about.

“Oh, nothing,” I said.

“Well,” he started slurring. “You sure look like you’re thinking about something. Your eyes are just glued to the dishwasher.”

I laughed and got up to refill his orange juice. After placing the fully poured glass back at its spot, I leaned in and kissed Dawson softly on the lips.

“C’mon,” I said. “We have to be at school in thirty minutes!”

Dawson sighed heavily and then proceeded to put his dishes in the sink as I was already upstairs. The biggest question that I was facing for the day was what to wear to school. That’s the hardest question that I face everyday and I’m never satisfied with what I have in my 2 closets or the amount of clothes that I do have. So I decided that I would let Dawson pick out my clothes for the day. He did a damn good job too.

The jeans that he picked out for me to wear were ones that I had got about a year and a half ago on a shopping trip I took to Chicago with Sharon. They really showed off my ass and made it look good, according to Dawson. The shirt that he made me wear was a pale yellow shirt that I had intended to get rid of long ago, but hadn’t done it yet. As for shoes, he picked a pair of Sperry’s that I had gotten a couple months ago. After looking at myself in the mirror, I approved, all but for the shirt, and got my bag and followed a shitty looking Dawson downstairs to my car.

School went by very fast again today, but then, when you’re only there from 9:30-1:30, it seems to go by fast anyways, but as soon as our final bell rang, we were back in my car heading back over to Marcus’s house for an after school snack.

Just as we were pulling into the drive, Dawson reminded me that I owed him a fuck this afternoon, and he wasn’t going to let me forget about it. He also reminded me that it had to be done before I left for my other night class. I just laughed at him and informed him that his time would come for him; he just had to be patient.

WOW!! I had no idea it had been so long since I had last posted anything. Well, better late than never, right?! ha
I have written the next piece of the story, and am contemplating right now on writing the next part, because it's just taking twists and turns all the time!

CHAPTER 36

I just stared into his eyes. That was everything that I wanted to hear. But the question I was facing now was how Dawson was going to handle all of this.
