Hell yeah!!
I'm talking to NOC right now...

It would be great to meet JUBbers in my home city of Portland.
I'm excited, I''ll be there!!!
you're such a pussy, my sweet boy, my sugar
They're working on plans and ideas for the meet right now...it sounds as though a number of people will likely be coming from quite far - already at least three people from east of the Mississippi, it appears - possibly even Europe.
Speaking of Mississippi, I can imagine some of us enjoying looking around that same-named neighborhood of Portland...it's definitely a fun place to explore.
I am SO ready to go to this! After all, Portland IS my favorite U. S. city!!
And my guess is that the top picture was taken not all that far from where you live, guys...obviously taken from somewhere west of downtown in the hills.

^ frankfrank, that photo was probably taken from Washington Park, at the Portland International Rose Test Gardens, near where I live.
Portland could well be many people's favorite city..
The rose garden in Washington park should be a pit stop during the jub meet!
you're such a pussy, my sweet boy, my sugar
WOOHOO!!!
It's FINALLY happening!!!
A meetup with my FAVORITE people in my FAVORITE CITY!!!
For those Jubbers that have NOT yet had the opportunity to spend time in Portland -- THIS IS THE EVENT you will NOT WANT to miss!!!

Cannot promise....depends on my budget, won't really know more definitively til June or so but I really wanna!![]()
Saucy, would love to see you here!
It's going to be a great Meet Up, tomorrow or the next day I should post a list of probable attendees and, so far, it's looking good.
Next week swerve (my co-host) and I will list some agenda items. Trust me, they'll be fun..
(I realise that this is off-topic.
But I'm Australian and I was surprised to find out today that the Japanese were shelling Oregon as well as Australia and Hawaii during the Second World War.)
SAUCY TOO? Great news, if that happens! I'd love to see you there!!!
I'm really looking forward to it! I've been to other JUB meets. I can guarantee that you'll have a good time, if you go. [a "collective YOU" meaning not only Saucy, but anybody. Could I have said y'all'll? Four L's in a row??]
And swerve, I'm all with you about the "favorite city" thing...at least THIS side of the Canadian border.

I'm going to CONSIDER that a PROMISE and a GUARANTEE!!!
You know, we've joked about this in the past...
But between the TWO of US, You and I have been to EVERY MAJOR JUB MEET -- yet NEVER the SAME ONE!!!
I KNOW that you'll have a BLAST -- and I cannot wait to FINALLY meet you!!!

August 2011 is far enough away that I could start making plans to attend.
I'll even volunteer to help!
In the past when we've had meetings in San Antonio, and St. Louis we put together accommodation options that we could all pretty much decide upon.
Those "hotel/motels" have been the base of operation during the meets.
So it's important to find a place that not only has some type of public transportation or ease of access to local attractions, but also affordable.
From what I remember during my last visit to Portland, downtown Portland has some really awesome possibilities.
Sounds great!![]()
Favorite comment quote read on Youtube: "My Laptop fell off the back of the boat, and now I have a Dell Rolling in the Deep."
^YAY!!!
One of Jub's COOLEST mod's might be in attendance!!!
Among MANY AWESOME things about Portland is that it has an INCREDIBLE transit system (nineofclubs works for them)...
Even I can go ANYWHERE from the TRUCK STOP!!!

You have my, vote from right here in River City
Of course it would be great to welcum other JUBBER'S to "The City of Roses"
It's not far for me to cum, now is it ; since I live only 3 miles from downtown Portland![]()
^I was kind of hoping that ya'll would be able to make it...
But -- I understand everyone's schedule is different -- and life sometimes gets in the way...
And Tony would be CERTAINLY welcome -- I suspect that a LOT of the other jubbers remember him...
We'll be posting list soon of those planning on attending -- I'm sure he'll recognize more than he might think...

You're not planning on it now, but that's more than 29 weeks away...maybe it's possible to work around something else and be there after all?
And I remember Antdak...though if we ever interacted at all it was very minimal.
Just try to make it, guys - these opportunities are rare.

when the date is set for sure, and there are a few definite attendants - please start a new thread with a summary of the location, date, planned activities etc that i can link on the forum start page![]()
Check out my very own Body Hair Lovers and Photography Groups!
Yay! Li'l Bit wants to go to Potland! Erm... Portland. Yeah.
Recently I heard a 'wise guy' story that I had a party at my home for twenty-five men. It's an interesting story, but I don't know twenty-five men I'd want to invite to a party. ~Joan Crawford
Perhaps!......
Sounds like fun - will you keep us posted of the details?
I'm sure I'll be able to make it, but I don't want to say I'll be there for sure just yet...
Lilbit -- I cannot wait to see you again -- and be able to spend the WHOLE weekend with you guys in Portland!!!
Your humor is INSANE and NEVER ENDING -- which equals gut-splitting and REFRESHING!!!
I'm glad that both you and Frankfrank (the human encyclopedia) will be able to make it!!!
![]()
KEVBO -- you were the ULTIMATE HOST in Minneapolis!!!
And I CERTAINLY HOPE that you'll make it to the Portland meet!!!
You are WAY FUN to be around -- and a GENUINELY SUPER NICE GUY!!!
Hey -- maybe I'll even make it back up to Eau Claire sometime between NOW and THEN!!!
I'm looking FORWARD to your "FOR SURE" announcement!!!

Pencil me in.
Isn't the line-up of JUBbers considering this looking very familiar?
NineOfClubs, frankfrank, swerve, LilBit, kevbo, Thad1527....
As for myself, I really have no idea - it's an awfully long way to travel if it was just for a single weekend.
Maybe I should plan a massive month-long tour of the West Coast, including all the sights, especially in California (I always wanted to visit there)
I am fortunate in that I have not only the time, but also the money.
I'll see where my life's at in April or May, and decide then.![]()
^It would be INCREDIBLE if you could make it back over here to the states ChickenGuy!!!
And you're CORRECT that you would have to spend AT LEAST 2 weeks -- to explore San Francisco, Los Angeles, and other West Coast cities and sites -- its really a MUCH DIFFERENT part of the country than what you saw up in Minnesota...
I THINK that you'd REALLY LIKE it and have an AWESOME time!!!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Well look what Mills stumbled upon, haha. August, eh?
I've always wanted to do the Westcoast, as I've only ever travelled along East. Perhaps the boyf & I could make a 7-10 day trip or something, with the JUB meet at the end.. Who knows?! All I knows, is that he's off work during those dates, and I expect I could be as well.
We shall see..!No promises, yes or no answers yet.. but maybe.

..There's Things I Haven't Told You.. I Go Out Late At Night..
And If I Was To Tell You.. You'd See My Different Side..
This would be a wonderful event to make a trip to Portland for....
![]()
YAY! WOOT! COOL!
I'm keeping my fingers crossed, too! But hey swerve, you didn't REALLY have to tell him that he'd have an awesome time. He ALREADY knows that, LOL.
CG, the combination of having time and money BOTH available for such a trip is a rarity in this 21st Century reality - use it to this advantage this summer! If you want to make a long U. S. trip and see some cool stuff, I and other people can give you some great ideas. There's a lot to see and do in The West.
You guys will be making the trip, right? YES, you will. Same comment to you as to ChickenGuy (and, no, the comment is NOT limited to Brits, lol) - there's a lot to see in the West. And if you enjoy wilderness and mountain hiking, wildlife, and such, there are nearly countless opportunities for that.
As Nike says in their logo: "Just do it."

I'm with frankfrank. "Just do it"
And Nike is a Portland company....
I actually delivered a truckload of giant plastic rolls to Nike...
They USED the plastic to make the ENDS of Shoelaces!!!
SERIOUSLY!!!
Can you IMAGINE how many shoe lace ends can be made from a TRUCK LOAD (40,000 pounds) of Giant plastic rolls!!!
p.s. They PAID me REALLY WELL too!!!![]()
