That seems to happen around Boston too many times.
Hi everyone
3 °C and cloudy... but everything is covered by a thin layer of ice because we had freezing rain last night...
On a more painful note, my mother broke her wrist yesterday. She fell in an escalator in a shopping center. The silver lining: everyone involved were super nice with her. The security team at the shopping center called an ambulance, and then called me to warn me. They then called me again to tell me that she was rushed to hospital, but they did not wich one. I went to the one nearest the shopping center, but was told that she had been admitted to another one, two metro station away, so I ran to this one, just in time to see her discharged... she was there less then an hour (very efficient place): she was seen by a doctor, x-rayed and fitted with a cast. We then took a taxi to her place and I ordered in some chicken, because that's what she wanted... I came back home around 8 and collapsed in my bed... I will call her later this morning to see how she is doing...
Good morning Boris
Glad your mother is doing ok. My mother would have asked for chicken also.
How are you doing this morning?
Our temps are the same
40F this morning and hazy.
Hope you are relaxing after the stress of your mother's fall![]()

Hello my friends
Semi sunny, 2°C , extreme winds: sustained at 63 km/h with burst of 85-100!!!
With our winds, the temps are dropping
In here too!
I went to hospital agin, to get an appointment for my mum for a hip infiltration... I was expecting a 6 months wait period, but she will be seen in two weeks. Her hips are bothering her for years now, and at her regular doctor yesterday, he gave her a paper to be seen for a bursitis. I hope it will improve her quality of life!
Some doctors here specialize in just hips
She has to go to a radiologist to get her treatment, God knows why...
Hope she gets a good doctor.![]()

Probably to get an true condition and what is needed for treatment.
Did you get the JUB forum newsletter? I got Issue #2 today, when did #1 come out?
I am highly insulted that they featured Willie Boy, Belamy, and a few others on therel
Hi PAul and Gary
I am not a subscriber to the publication you are referring to... And the users you are mentionning barely register on my radar anymore...
So, this morning, mu mum called me, on the verge of tears to ask me to go and do her laundry for her, which I promptly did... She tried herself, but just the gathering of the sheets and clothe causes her great pain, so she called me and I did the laundry, change of bed linnen, and a cream of spinach for lunch: I poached two big chicken legs, with herbs, celery and onions, once the bird's legs were cooke I removed them to debone them and added some frozen spinach, to thaw them, added the shredded meat and creamed the whole thing with a plunge mixer... the result: a delicious soup, deep green, somewhere between emerald and malachite...
Yum, that sounds great. As I have said before, you are a wonderful son.![]()

-7,7°C this morning with another dusting
Hi Paul
I am reasonably well thank you!
I am going to hospital with my mother for a follow up on her wrist...
-12 °C, and foggy, and we had a dusting of white shit last night!
Hi everyone
-15 °C and sunny in Montréal
My mum is not going well... They did an x-ray yesterday and saw that the bones were not setting right, so they had do cut the cast and reset the bones right, under general anesthesia and fit her with a heavier cast... I spent all day yesterday with her at hospital... the personel was very nice and competent.
Sorry to hear your mom is not doing well.

I think that physically she will be fine, but it's emotionally that I am worried...
Aging is no fun, and has many pitfalls.
Thinking about you and your mom
Thanks...
I just spoke to her over the phone, and she told me that the Dilaudid is having a definite effect, but she is still in pain from her intervention...
And the shopping center where she got hurt contacted her to tell her that she might be eligible to some compensation for her "trouble". Some one from corporate will go visit her to assess what can be done. My mum has nothing but praise for the way she was treated by the personel of the shopping center, and she does not think that anyone but her was at fault in that "adventure". We'll see... maybe she can get reimbursed for all the taxis that we took since then to and from hospital (about 30$ each time)...
Good morning Boris
Hope all comes out well with that.
In the the US a dozen or so lawyers would be contacting her to sue. (no wonder we have so many law suits)
23°F/-5°C this morning with another dusting, but a foot or more is forecast for the weekend.
Good morning Boris. Give your mom a hug for me.

Good after-noon alland dynk
and Trip
Yeah, I heard about that, but it is not in our culture... we only sue when there is clearly a fault, but as my mom is relating the events, the shopping mall is not at fault, it was her bag on wheels that is at fault. Plus, they too all their responsabilities, including calling me to warn me of the situation... We'll see how it will pan out...
I will do... thanks for your concern...
I did not mean for her to sue, must passing the US thinking by lawyers. They sue for everything.
I am listening to Beethoven's 9th. I still wish I had the version that was recorded in Montreal at the opening of the Montreal hall.
Beethoven's 9th is a summit that is not even close to be surpassed!
and a certain English man be damned!!!
Hi everyone
-18 °C and sunny... And we are bracing ourself for a white shit storm...
Hi Boris. Is that massive storm going hit you? The news is saying New England.
JUB's cuddle bunny since 2005
It will be the tail of the storm... maybe 4-6 inches of white shit... while our friend dynk is going to get close to 20... I feel his pain in advance!!!

-3.9°C/25°F and snowing lightly. The snow will continue till about 3pm EST tomorrow with a 24-30 inch snowfall.
Will be coastal flooding and power outages as this will be heavy wet snow and strong winds.
Hi Paul
I feel your pain! It is also white shitting in Montréal, but you are goring to get the brunt of the storm, while, luckily (for us), we are only get the tail of it.
So once again:![]()
Warm hugs for our Boris. Stay warm, dude.
