Anybody going to go see the event today for PS4? (Doubtful)
I’m a huge PS3 fanboy, and I have to admit the PS4 reveal was a huge letdown.
They didn’t show the system, didn’t set a price point, didn’t give a release date other than a vague “Holiday 2013”, didn’t explain how backwards compatibility via streaming will work, didn’t show any killer launch titles or IPs aside from Infamous:Second Son (considering inFamous is a Sony property, a sequel was no surprise anyway), didn’t address the used games lockout issue, and mostly focused on the “social media” bullshit. If I want to deal with social media, i’ll go on fucking Facebook.
Don’t build up hype for two weeks unless you’re going to bring out the big guns, Sony. This was like promising a 12 hour fuck-a-thon and delivering a half-assed handjob.
Nnnnn;;;;; @ Throwing an event and leaving out the actual star.
I get it, they want to reveal the system at E3, but then why do this shit? Killzone didn't even look next gen. I'm hoping to God all of the titles will get a graphics boost in the coming months because Crysis 3 looked more advanced.
Oh, and who in their right mind will be buying Watch Dogs for anything other than a Wii-U (Which is nearly confirmed, btw)
All that hacking, cell phone use, and techy shit will keep the interfaces out of your TV screen and on the touch pad controller where it belongs. It was built for the Wii-U.
OK!?
I was watching the entire thing on YouTube just waiting for the actual console to be announced.
But what I'm confused on is how it's innovative? I'm Team PS all the way. PS3 > 360 > Wii (imo). But nothing stood out to me.
Wii was innovative when it first came out. It has since simmered down.
However, they didn't follow up well, it seems. Nintendo pulled a Christina Aguilera with their latest releases: flops.
I'm just waiting on Apple to blow these peeps out of the water and come out with something on their own. Think of it, wireless console which you may use your iPhone or iPod Touch as the controller. Pow.
If Sony doesn't give better launch titles the 4 isn't going to do much better in my opinion. The 3D DS is shitting everywhere and will get a huge boost that it doesn't need when Pokemon X and Y come out (I will be buying my Pokemon X and 3D DS together unless I find an online deal that's good)
Just like when Smash Brothers comes out I will actually get a Wii-U. However what Nintendo needs to do is release Pokemon StadiumU and Super Mario SunshineU, tbqh.
The two games that are coming my way:
Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
God of War: Ascension
For all sad words of tongue and pen,
The saddest are these, 'It might have been.'
Sony just launched their playstation 4. You might want to check it out.
You right about the first part. At the beginning PS3 wasn't really competition for the 360, but they caught up because I guess people were drawn to the fact that it could play Blu-Ray and now 3D. The titles caught up as well.
Yep, I'm doing the same thing when X and Y come out. Buying the 3DS in October. Getting a console for a specific game is actually the only reason I got the Wii. Was when SSB Brawl came out. And I'm prolly gonna do the same for the Wii U. Speaking of Pokemon and Wii U, never got why GameFreak hasn't released a full blown RPG for console games. You know how bad that would slay? I haven't kept up with the Wii U, but do they now have an online network this go around? Because with an online network, it would shit even more.
^^ That's what I'm saying. That had that Pokemon game where you like steal the souls of the pokemon on Gamecube. I forgot the premise or goal but it was open world. All it was missing was tall grass and short grass. Do they not get how much money that would make? I guess they don't want the handheld to compete with the console version.
Yep, that's exactly what I read. That Nintendo makes too much money off of Pokemon on handheld for them to just jump to console like that. But c'mon now, your Wii U is struggling, Nintendo. Resurrect it!
EDIT: Oh, and I know which game you're talking about: Pokemon XD. I had it for GameCube.![]()
I'm crying
I ordered Dead Space 3 Limited Edition for $40 and Sly Cooper 4 for $30 on Amazon two days ago and just got them today. I've been looking forward to playing these two games for a while, but waited until they dropped in price.
Woot! Clearing up my schedule so I can play some video games today. Digging up some old consoles to finish off some unfinished games. Might also play back Pokemon Fired Red (favorite of the third gen series)![]()
For some reason, after reading about the PS4, I get the feeling it will be a colossal flop and will bury the company. I am not typically doom and gloom but with the way they marketed the Vita, I just don't see Sony making bank on the PS4. Again, we will have to wait till Microsoft talks about its console to see how it measures up.
What I wish they would do is create a device that would allow to play DS games on your wii. When I had the gamecube, they had a thign that allowed you to play gameboy and gameboy advances games on your tv. I bought nintendo games I wouldn't have otherwise because of that.
And I think that would apply to the Wii U.
Anybody here excited for the upcoming Amnesia game??
So I recently just got into Bioshock...I know I'm very late to the party but I absolutely love it from beginning to end. I just started Bioshock 2 and I can't wait for Infinite
PLaying Super MArio Bros 3..now that was a game!
"There’s death on the horizon,
and I’ll run to behold your sacrifice..."
NES games: Crystalis, StarTropics I & II, Mega Man 1 - 6, DuckTales 1 & 2, Darkwing Duck, Chip & Dale's Rescue Rangers 1 & 2, Litttle Nemo, Zelda I & II, Willow, Blaster Master, Kirby's Adventure
SNES: Secret Of Mana, Final Fantasy II & III, Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, Demon's Crest, Super Castlevania IV, Contra III: the Alien Wars, Super Mario World, Mega Man X 1 - 3, Axelay, Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past, ActRaiser, EarthBound, Shadowrun, Mortal Kombat II, Breath of Fire I & II, Donkey Kong Country 1 - 3, Batman Returns, The Adventures of Batman and Robin (NOT Batman Forever. That game gargles donkey balls)
This is just off the top of my head, so I might have forgot a game or two. Anyone want to add to the list?
Been play Mega Man 9 and 10. Anybody feel they have to lose the stage in order to get the boss pattern and stage down in order to beat it?
Anybody played Corpse Party?
I should add that I actually do have the e-card levels on my GBA version of SMB3. That parabeatle challenge especially with SMB2 USA [always differentiate between the two] version of Luigi is a pain.
So who's looking forward to Injustice? It looks like a pretty complicated game if you've seen any vids for it.

Black Ops 2 and kicking ass!

world of warcraft also
I'm ready for Simcity ya'll. Been making my city in my head for the past 48 hours![]()
I remember when that first came out in the US. I got it for my birthday that yearI was a happy kid!
I've largely been unimpressed with the PS3, only have a handful of games and I think the only one I finished was FFXIII-2. If the PS4 is anything like it, then I will pass completely at launch and wait for the inevitable slim version.
I may be bad, but I'm perfectly good at it.
^Sony has been circling the drain lately with the latest news of them closing down its main HQ office. You have to wonder WTH is going with management. Japan's corporate culture especially doesn't put up with such gross incompetence.
What videogames are you playing these days?
Not too many lately. I'm sort of in the middle of Mass Effect, but haven't finished it. I've been sort of distracted lately and haven't gotten into many games. The last ones I've played recently are: Batman Arkham City, Fable III, and Final Fantasy 13.
What games are you looking forward to?
Not any at the moment. I would like to play Epic Mickey 2 and the new Zelda game eventually.
What kinds of games do you like?
First person shooters, RPG's, Platforms. I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy series, Zelda, Mario, and Suikoden.
I've had a lot of career/life drama lately, so my attention has been a bit hyper-focused on other things, but I do hope to get back into playing more video games.
aw thanks. I'm liking this board so far.
I recently started Bioshock 2 also, got it for free with another game purchase(Spec Ops the Line). It's been hard for me to get into, because it is just more of the same from Bioshock. After several hours, haven't encountered a single new thing other than characters.
Have high hopes for Infinite. Columbia does look remarkable. My concern here is if you take away all the new paint in the new setting, what's left is essentially the same game as Bioshock. Elizabeth looks to be like a new type of little sister NPC. And the Songbird is just a new type of Big Daddy that flies. This will no doubt be amusing at first. But I have a feeling several hours into the game and it will start feeling very deja vu with all similar plasmids and weapons. Hope I am wrong.
Seen this earlier and thought it was hilarious!

I'm holding my breath atm for any "next-gen" console. Hell, I basically ignored the recent gen's gaming offerings and stuck with the PC. I am not entranced by what Nintendo nor Sony are offering and I am highly skeptical of Microsoft. I would think that MSFT would have the upper hand and it is their's to lose but who knows at this point.
I played all of the Suikodens. 1-5. Didn't like 4 much though. :P
^ I thought the strategy battles were lame in that one. My favorite Suikoden for strategy battles was 5 I think.

I'm a fan of Little Big Planet, Mario, Fire Emblem, Mega Man, and much more. I'm looking foward to Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and Rayman Legends.
