District 9
Love it. Love it.

Stand By Me who doesn't like this little gem of a film.
"Flipping Dykes I though they were a myth like Weapons of Mass Destruction" Grace Adler.
The Last Song.
Wasn't as great as the book was, felt more rushed to me than anything. However, it was still a fun watch.
vampire sucks before was once upon a time in mumbaai i hate luv stories

Excellent. Hilarious.![]()
Tokyo Zombie. Silly and fun!![]()
I re-watched 1973's The Wicker Man. It's impossible to not appreciate the pleasures the farmers enjoy, including their human sacrifice.
Saw Scorcese's The Aviator for the first time the other week. Damn good movie, beautifully photographed and Leo is pretty great as he usually is.
Pirhana 3D - great fun (if a little to aimed at the straight teenage boy market). Nothing to tax the brain but nice to see a horror film doing really nasty gore on a massive scale and doing it well. Also it features Jerry O'Connel as a sleazy softcore porn director who gets a suitable comeuppance - and he played Vern in Stand By Me which was the previous film I saw.
"I'm not a moccodity"
Going the Distance. I enjoyed myself; it was a pretty funny movie.
Takers.
Fun movie, nice gentlemanly eye candy too
The Invention Of Lying
Sucked big time. I think it was supposed to be a comedy, but there wasn't anything about it even remotely funny.
Robin HOOD, meh.
A Very Long Engagement
Very good. Recommended.

The original version of The Last House on the Left. It hasn't aged well. The ludicrous soundtrack especially undermines whatever shock it once had.
Alice in Wonderland. Not bad; too much eye-poking though.
I think it was Hot Tub Time Machine. What a boys movie (in a very bad way).

Me and my bitch (aka best friend) saw a double showing of The Last Exoricsm (still scratching my head about the end)
and The Switch, which made me cry like a baby
The new Taking of Pelham 123, last night.

The Book of Eli.
Taken
Let's just say that Liam Neeson's character was the luckiest SOB Ever! Everything just fell into place for him to rescue his daughter. For me, it just wasn't believable.
Machete and I loved it.![]()
Swoon. Gr8 movie.
cinema: despicable me
at home: eating out 2
Red Dawn....
Please do not apologize for your opinion.
The girl with a dragon tattoo - Well for one, and I am not sure why, but I for some reason thought that this was a semi-kids movie like Harry Potter and thought that it was also sci-fi and dealt with dragons. I have no idea why I thought this, so imagine how confused I was when I started watching it. Asking all of these questions such as why is it in swedish (or whatever language it was), how it is that they are showing a rape in a kids movie. Oh well...I thought that the movie was ok, just long.
the last english movie would be charlie st cloud after that is killers!
Minority Report.

Get Smart
I wasn't expecting too much from this movie, but it was actually pretty funny. I'm actually hoping for a sequal.

Not a bad movie![]()
I can't stand regular TV, so I always pop in a DVD while I'm eating or loafing. I'm currently in an Abbott & Costello phase. We have all their movies in some DVD package.
So...
"Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man"
"Don't wait for the world to be ready. Find what you're looking for."
Joey Graceffa
The Orphanage

Star Trek (2009).... finally.
Any decent Star Trek fan should slap me and tell me I don't deserve to be a ST fan.![]()

Orphan
"Maybe it's not unusual for her to say. Who knows, maybe at the dinner table her last family said pass the fucking potatoes."
"If I find out that you're lying, I'll cut your hairless little prick off before you even figure out what it's for. Do you understand me?"
I think it was supposed to be a scary movie but I laughed an awful lot.
AT SWORD'S POINT. A kind of sequel to THE THREE MUSKETEERS with Maureen O'Hara, Cornell Wilde(yum)in his prime, Dan O'Herlihy and Alan(the Skipper)Hale, Jr. as the offspring of the Musketeers. So-so, but fun.
They should rename this movie "Gay Star Trek". It's more appropriate. Zac Quinto? And what red-blooded gay boi could take their eyes off sexy Chris Pine??
Anyway, today it was "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea". The Disney version from 1953 or '52 or something like that. Such a cool movie. A shirtless (through most of the movie), young Kirk Douglas and handsome James Mason. I have to confess, I was having some very "non-Disney" thoughts during it.![]()
"Don't wait for the world to be ready. Find what you're looking for."

The American. Rather disappointing.
(spoiler)****
This is the 2nd George Clooney film I've watched in a row where he dies at the end. Is he trying to tell us something?
Tim burton's Alice in Wonderland.
"Flipping Dykes I though they were a myth like Weapons of Mass Destruction" Grace Adler.
The Blind Side
Sandra Bullock's oscar-winning performance. She played a white, wealthy Southern Christian Republican who was genuinely compassionate - almost inconceivable.
Despite its flaws, what makes it work is being a true story.
Resident Evil: Afterlife
Didn't like it![]()
Bergman's Hour of the Wolf. Cries and Whispers is still my favorite, but I haven't seen Fanny and Alexander since I was a kid. I need to put that in my queue.
The Science of Sleep. Nifty animations and neat ideas won't redeem a boring plot and dull characters.
Saw two current movies in two weeks.
The Last Exorcism------Awful,Awful,Awful. A bogus Reverend, who "pretends" to do exorcisms for people's money, ends up getting himself pulled into a real one. Stupidest "twist" ending I've ever seen.
The Devil----Great movie. Five people stuck in an elevator. One of them is a devil who is killing the others one by one. Hard to guess which one.

Black Swan at TIFF.
Amazing movie.

In theatres: Machete. Fun action movie. But not much else. Robert Rodriguez's Planet Terror was much better. If your into insanely gory mock-B-movie fare.
On DVD: Batman Begins. Always a good movie to revisit from time to time.
