It has been quoted that Linda Perry advised Christina on the album, to use her voice differently and not have to over-sing. Linda said that Christina should not be afraid to just sing without using so much power.

I don't get why everyone is really worked up over familiar imagery. The real question to me, is if she is really wearing leather masks etc. and using whips in her actual sex life. I would hope that the video really is some sort of homage or commentary on popular imagery for blonde female pop stars OR her commenting on her newly found sex life. If neither of those are correct, then what is the point of the video?

I'm hoping that the rest of the album is better. Isn't that her track record now? The singles always flopped on the charts but the album is gold. I have no problem with the video except the product placement of her fragrance. Nothing wrong with promotion but it looked tacky. Who's the guy on the bed in the last scene? Hottie!

Since the release of her mediocre attempts at crossing into the now lucrative 'techno/pop' genre that Lady Gaga made (undeservedly) popular two years ago, I have wondered about the state of Christina Aguilera's voice. It would seem that this is a genre favoured by singers whose vocal abilities are limited or dramatically diminished, and we should not forget that Miss Aguilera is notorious for her inability to produce what she "does" on record, while performing live.

What's with the Christina hate? Christina has had plenty of videos of her singing live and she's proven that she can reproduce the studio efforts, live.

Her tone is amazing and, as long as she is singing in the mid tenor range, her voice is very powerful, agile and elastic. However, anything above that is largely outside of her capabilities, unless it is in a very frail head voice. She rarely hits anything above B4 correctly, and she has often been accused of lip syncing to pre-recorded fragments of the difficult parts of her songs.

Most times, she can't even hit C5, for God's sake. Second, one's vocal capabilities are anything that one can produce with a solid timbre, vibrato, good tonal quality and can be sustained for more than two seconds. Thus, since her high notes are a mess, she fails miserably at singing them whenever there isn't a sound technician around to alter the pitch and improve the tonal quality, and she can barely hit these notes for a fraction of a second even in the studio, no, these frequencies are not within her capabilities.

Just because you can reach a particular pitch doesn't mean that you can do it well, or that it does have any degree of musical value. Maybe your fanaticism is the real problem, and not what you suppose to be pretension on my part.

Yes, she can. Has every performance been perfect? No. I can definitely attest to seeing performance where she has strained or missed notes, but what singer has not had some bad performances? However, she's also had several performances where she has sung, live, and she was on-key. Suffice it to say, you have not watched enough of her performances or you simply do not want to admit it, due to whatever biases you may carry about her and/or singing.

Do you know where that is on the piano? No, you don't. That is why I pointed that out earlier. You have no clue what Tenor notes and Baritone notes are, otherwise you would not say that Christina Aguilera can hit them. You would also know that it is physiologically impossible for a female to go beyond Tenor, even if she has an extensive vocal fry.

Why people always compare her to other artists ? I mean everybody copies everybody. Gaga didnt create anything, neither did beyoncé and neither did Aguilera.

The problem is that people expect much more from aguilera and even when she tries to do different things, people always criticize her. when she' doing something popular she's copying Gaga and madonna. When she goes back to basics she has a lack of inspiration... anyway.

Even tho I always supported aguilera, I have to admit that after seing the video, it's not the aguilera I like. That's all I have to say, it's not about she's going gaga or whatever.

i like the fighter mode or the B2B mode. But the trashy aguilera is not my thing. Hopefully the next singles will be more mature

I like the cleaned up version of Xtina. I wasn't feeling the Diirty era and I'm not feeling this. Sorry to say but this reminds me a lot of Gaga and only one person can be the incredible goddess that is Gaga.

What I don't understand is why can't this chick sell as well as Beyonce? Aguilera's voice is PHENOMENAL but her record sells pale in comparison to her competitors. The public gets it wrong everytime.

I understand why Beyonce sells. It's not about having a great singing voice and it never has been. Beyonce is more of an entertainer (see singer/dancer) than Christina, so Beyonce looks like more of a complete package.

Also, Christina takes more risks in her music and in her image, which gives her more of an edge, but makes her less mainstream; Christina does make commercial music, but her musical style, lyrical content, or her image did not follow a trend at one point which affects her sales. Beyonce has catchier, radio/club friendly music.

That is simply, Christina at her finest!!! It has the old-school, ballad feel that you'd think would've been from her last album, Back to Basics. However, I can totally see her talking this classic feeling song and pairing it with modern imagery.

Ah! I hope she releases this song before the Grammy deadline. It has great potential.

Christina is struggling to find herself. Her image makes no sense to me. Just yesterday she was on Oprah talking about how her son has changed her life and made her feel so empowered... talking about how she loves being a mother... so I'm a little confused by this video. There's nothing wrong with being risque, but she looks and acts like a $2.00 whore in this video.

Is she trying to be another Madonna with the constant reinventions? When she first came out she was a sweet little pop star on the heels of Britney, then she went the skanky route with "Dirrty," then she tried turning herself into Pink circa "Misundaztood" (even stealing away Linda Perry), then she went "wholesome retro" with Back to Basics, and now she's back to being an in your face slut. What is her real image?

Also, is it just me or does it sounds like her jaw is clenched when she sings? She definitely has talent, but sometimes she just sounds weird. She tries to do too many vocal tricks with all the riffs and runs to the point that some songs (her covers in particular) are almost unrecognizable. Less is more.
