Okay just listened to it. Not as bad as the tiny clip. I would have liked it more if it weren't a party song, but at least it has real vocals unlike Gaga...

Wow, this song is a hot mess. Yikes.
Christina Aguilera Debuts 'Not Myself Tonight,' First Bionic Single
New album is due June 8
On Tuesday afternoon (March 30), Christina Aguilera took to her I Heart Radio channel to premiere "Not Myself Tonight," the first single from her upcoming Bionic album. And judging from the sound of the track, Bionic is a pretty fitting title for the project.
"Tonight" is a whirring, whooshing thing, full of blaring synthesizers and spare snares speeding along over pounding, four-on-the-floor beat. It's more of a classic house cut than anything else, the kind of track you'd expect to hear rattling the speakers at the massive, multi-level clubs of Europe. And on the song, Aguilera sounds like she's already on the dance floor.
"Tonight, I'm feeling a little bit out of control," she sings over curling electronic tendrils. "I'm dancing a lot/ Taking shots and I'm feeling fine/ Kissing all the boys and girls/ Someone call the doctor, 'cause I lost my mind."
"Tonight, I'm not the same girl/ I'm not myself tonight," she belts over the soaring chorus. "In the morning, when I wake up, I'll go back to the girl I used to be/ But baby, not tonight."
Toward the end of the song — which was produced by Polow Da Don and written by Ester Dean — Aguilera even gets to show off her patented vocal pyrotechnics, making several powerful vocal runs. And there's a sweaty, pulsing breakdown in which she pants and purrs ("Yeah, that feels good, I needed that") before the song fades out under the clatter of drums.
"Tonight" was prefaced by a rather robotic countdown on Aguilera's I Heart Radio channel, which featured an android repeating the title of the album while grinding electronic noises whirred in the background and some of Aguilera's earlier hits ("Genie in a Bottle," "Beautiful," etc.) were mixed into the fray. At the song's end, Aguilera asked fans to call in and let her know if they liked the track, before she decided to play the whole thing again.
Bionic is scheduled to hit stores June 8. In an interview earlier this year with Marie Claire magazine, Aguilera said the album "is about the future" and explained that the birth of her son, Max, served as inspiration for many of the songs.
With the song's premiere, we can probably put those "Iamamiwhoami" rumors to bed once and for all.
What do you think of "Not Myself Tonight"? Are you excited to hear Bionic? Let us know in the comments!

Although I'm a Christina fan, I can be very critical of her.
To my surprise, I actually REALLY LIKE this song.
Yes, it's very radio friendly, but I think it's a strategical thing--she's been away from the music scene for a long time now and she really needs a radio-friendly song to bring her back into the spotlight.
I like it , and WOW the Bionic intro is sick that creepy robotic voice saying "bionic" is awesome
I don't hate it.
After continuous airplay, I'm sure it'll grow on me to become a club indulgence.

ok so I was at work when it premiered but luckily I had my top 40 station on and it just so happened to be #7 on the Top 7 at 7....so I've only listened once...but I was singing it for about an hour after I heard it so I'm gonna say I like it...but I'm gonna give it a few more spins and see my true feelings about it...haha
PS ~ love that Bionic Intro!
I really think that Bionic intro thing is fake.
You guys realize that for the past few months there have been numerous YouTube videos claiming it's an "official snippet" from the album.
Eh, the song is generic and forgettable. At least she'll oversing it when she performs it live, which may make it more memorable for me.
I L.O.V.E it!!!! Totally!
Hidden messages in the album cover artwork?

The intro is not fake they played it on her radio station
It's not a bad song... circa 2004. Just really generic. Kind of reminds me of 90s dance music. Like Night at the Roxbury style.
The song is growing on me....
The intro not really.. .well not at all
Christina's interview about the album. Death @ her reaction to the guy who coughed when she was speaking lol. I like how she gave detail fulled answers than giving answers that her people could tell her to say whats the album about. That shows how involved she is with her music.

Fake as hell. For starters, "I Am" is a Sia track, not Santigold. Also Goldfrapp said they only wrote songs for Christina and never heard back from her. This is the actual tracklisting unless it gets changed (as it appears on HMV.com):
1. Bionic
2. Not Myself Tonight
3. You Lost Me
4. Kimono Girl
5. Lift Me Up
6. So What You Get
7. Stronger
8. Monday Morning
9. Sex For Breakfast
10. Glam
11. Little Dreamer
12. I Am
13. All I Need
14. Birds Of Prey
"Not Myself Tonight" is garbage, and I love watching it tumble down the iTunes charts, but I still expect the album to be good, or at the least an interesting listen. I do love the people she's collaborated with.
A quick preview of the video, I can't wait. She's being slutty again.
Werk Bitch!!
WOW can't wait to see the video she looks hot and that body is insane
oh dang....
For the first time in her whole career Im actually really worried about this record
Reminds me of Madonna Human Nature anyway can't wait to see it the video looks sick
I'm so excited
Her male dancers are always so hot :P.
NMT drops from 23 to 49 this week on the Hot 100? LG's Alejandro already top 20 and it hasn't even been released as a single yet? Why, aren't they giving Christina the same amount of airplay? I'm worried now too...and disappointed!
See anything similar to this pic below in this thread? Yah! And Beyonce wore those ballet shoes way back in one of her B'Day videos.
She's clearly copying everyone she can. I wanted her to bring everything new.

LADY GAGA
'ARTPOP'
11.11.13
NO shade to Beyonce because I like her music, but who hasn't she copied. Lady Gaga's originality is shaken too since Grace Jones put her on blast. Who's really original now a days? I can already see the many rants that she's copying GaGa with this new video.
Wow she killed it!

It's quite the video I must say....very "Justify My Love"-ish.
Perez is going crazy on twitter pointing out everything she "stole" from GaGa.....blah blah
I liked the costumes, but the video was not innovative. I did find myself thinking about Madonna's "Express Yourself" and "Justify My Love" videos during certain parts.
Everybody "copies" everybody. You cant do anything w/o finding a similarity of someone else somewhere. The only way she could do something that know one else has done is if she were to make a snuff film and set someone on fire.
The thing that sets Christina apart is she has a voice that is unbelievable. And she is the only one who has always openly supported the gay/bi community. Gaga does too but Gaga has only been around for 2 years.
One thing that was cool was the part where she bends her body like a pretzel. That shit was hot. I had know idea she was that flexible. This the first time Ive seen her and thought she prolly puts it down in bed.
This is sad lol...

LMFAO .. I think for those people who are criticizing her video should actually analyze the song.."NOT MYSELF TONIGHT". People are so quick to point out what she "copied" or what not, I betcha this is the point of the VIDEO. Those who pointed this out will LOOK LIKE TOTAL FOOLS once Christina herself clarifies this. I'm so tired of Gaga comparisons too btw, my gosh if Christina wants to copy Gaga she should smash her face with a mallet and grow a dick, coz that's the only she'll have some sort of resemblance with Gaga physically.
I saw lots of Madonna, I guess that's what she was going for. But it does fit the song though. I don't get how Lady Gaga is friends with that douche bag.
I like the video. And I don´t care if she´s copying someone. It´s Cristina and I´m gonna love her no matter what.
And about the album, I´m not worried. Bionic will be huge
seeing alllll of those similarities posted above....it is SO obvious that this is the point of the video...she's taken from other artists, becuase she's "Not Herself Tonight"....that's what I think...there's no way in hell someone would make a video with that many similarities and not have done it on purpose.
Not a fan of Not Myself Tonight!!! For me it doesn't matter if she copied anyone else or not!! I'm deeply saddened to see someone with such GREAT TALENT sink to such depths when she doesn't need to!! I thought the video was DISGUSTING!! And what makes it worse is she's a mother!! For the record while I like Lady Gaga's music I'm not a fan of her videos either!!
THAT SLUT.
The monsters took no prisoners last night lol
I fucking love the video! >.<
It's a big sarcastic diss of all the iconic images of other artist's videos. Madonna, GaGa, Beyonce, Stefani, Spears... LOL
Video is called "Not MYSELF Tonight"...
Relax people...![]()
Sarcastic Diss or not it's still beneath someone of her TALENT!!! I only hope the rest of the album is better than this and she gets back to doing great videos like the one for HURT. For me that's a CLASSIC video!!
The video is amazing and so enjoyable and sexy and It fits the song perfectly and she looks so fucking hot also I loved all her references to the queen of Pop Madonna
Since the release of her mediocre attempts at crossing into the now lucrative 'techno/pop' genre that Lady Gaga made (undeservedly) popular two years ago, I have wondered about the state of Christina Aguilera's voice. It would seem that this is a genre favoured by singers whose vocal abilities are limited or dramatically diminished, and we should not forget that Miss Aguilera is notorious for her inability to produce what she "does" on record, while performing live.
Her tone is amazing and, as long as she is singing in the mid tenor range, her voice is very powerful, agile and elastic. However, anything above that is largely outside of her capabilities, unless it is in a very frail head voice. The fact that "Not Myself Tonight" doesn't even cover an octave in range, is performed in a half-sung/half-spoken manner and only contains heavily edited high notes in the background, would suggest that she is already losing her voice... Or maybe she has decided to release an album that will enable her vocal chords to have a much needed rest.
As for the video, it is as tacky, uninteresting and dull as the song itself. All of this has been done before and yes, Lady Gaga is a better plagiarist than Christina, probably because she is so over the top, that it is difficult to perceive the whiff of desperation through the whirling colours. In Christina's case, she is hampered by her ridiculous sense of self-importance, which always makes her want to make a grand statement. Hence, the result is dull and pretentious, as everything she has always done.
I cannot say that I'm exactly waiting for this album with much interest... Especially if the lack of quality in the material is as awful as in her previous shitty effort.
