I can't say much about the other films because I only saw the first and last. BUT... I recently saw the original Rocky on DVD (I collect the Best Picture winners) and enjoyed it and that same day saw Rocky (VI) Balboa in the theater (with the free ticket from the DVD).

Rocky Balboa is the best film I've seen this year, and I've seen a great deal of them. I would say that Stallone delivered a realistic (well, more believable than you'd think to get a man of Roc's age back in the ring) script and both he and Milo (who by the way is gorgeous in this) delivered Oscar-caliber performances in what I think is as good as (or perhaps better than) the original movie.
