God, I'd love to see Joaquin and Mark... but oh well.
Heath and Jake works just as good.
God, I'd love to see Joaquin and Mark... but oh well.
Heath and Jake works just as good.
i think you guys are making a huge deal about this...He felt uncomfortable about it leave him alone...It's not like he went on a rampage bashing the movie...he was asked a question and he answered it honestly...jeez guys! just because he's not saying OH MY GOD I SO WANTED TO DO THIS MOVIE!!!!! doesn't mean he should be patronized for it. He STRAIGHT! He's gonna get creeped out about gay sex (EVEN IF IT's ACTING)
If I were an actor, I wouldn't have any problems with doing a hot sex scene with an actress, because it's just acting, not real, and that's my job.
Besides, the sex scene in Brokeback Mountain is so brief that I only see two men holding each other and just moaning a little. The two actors even don't have to see each other's dick.
So what Mark have said made him a homophobia, and also made me think that he's not a good actor as I thought before.
"Wahlberg felt uncomfortable about gay sex acts in a tent."
So he'd have been cool with it if it had been on a beach? This from a man who has been in love with his own dick for years.
We're lucky that hotter, better, and more mature actors did the film.
As I said before, there is nothing to be CREEPED OUT about, because no one was asking him to have gay sex. And seriously, that scene is so damn brief and crappy, it shouldn't have been that big a deal.
You're acting like people are calling him a bigot and putting him the same league as Tim Hardaway or Michael Richards. They're not.
But that doesn't mean his attitude toward gay sex is not offensive.
I find it a bit odd that he was creeped out by that, but he wasn't creeped out by his own scene in Boogie nights where he got into a car and tried to jerk himself off for another guy. Why didn't that scene meet his standards of creepiness?
Hit the nail on.the.head.I'm the first person to shoot down gay men who are angry because some straight guy doesn't enjoy watching two men get it on, because why would they? They're straight. And like I said, it makes sense that it would make him uncomfortable or uneasy. But in your last film you shot a man dead. It's easier for you to play that than to play a man who's in love with another man?
Then he has the nerve to say that obviously the movie was well received because the homosexuality was done in taste. Excuse me? So because this is a story about two gay men, the sex needs to be tasteful and classy, yet there’s no problem with the millions of raunchy and explicit heterosexual sex scenes that are out there in movies that have been great films.
OMG Mark Walhburg is a Joe Bloggs guy lets kill him for it. Put your handbags away ladies.
Guess what gay sex in any shape or form freaks hetreo men out. The guy may have been brought up like most here in a hoime were hertreo is the norm. Also so does straight to alot here eg the whole sex with women threads and guy guys running it down. Kettle and black are really springing to mind here. Guess what I like honest actors I hate the ones who try and patronise fans by stating they get on with all their co-stars they love their fans etc. Reality check Cher Kylie and Madonna have used the Gay communities love of cheesey pop for years to keep them in their sweet millionaire lifestyles. You actually think they give a fuck about gay issues?
Well done Mark for stating the truth to one question asked. I'm not going to boycott your films, let more celebs be honest and stop pussy footing around all the senesitive queens out there.
"Flipping Dykes I though they were a myth like Weapons of Mass Destruction" Grace Adler.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with being uncomfortable with someone being uncomfortable watching what's basically homosexual soft core porn at times. Leave the man alone.
Seriously, its like the guy can't have an opinion or something..Believe it or not gay sex is still rather taboo & it still makes A LOT of people uncomfortable (especially a straight guy) to see on screen. He didn't degrade gays with name calling & didn't say he hated us either...please, I get uncomfortable watching horror movies, Tampax commercials around my mom, or "Glitter"
LoL, I also get uncomfortable watching the Health Channel & seeing women give birth (its supposed to be a miraculous beautiful thing, no?)...am I terrible person or a douche bag because it makes me squeamish?
People who are bashing Mark need to get over themselves
Mark Walhberg had a kissing scene with Philip Seymour Hoffman in Boogie Night, remember?
Anyway, when he was Marky Mark, he made a major scene when he demanded that his I-can't-remember body make-up artist to be changed, just because the artist was a he, and not a she.
That guy has an issue.
Yes because "I was a little creeped out. It was very graphic, descriptive" .... is clearly just the most hateful comment ever... COME ON I don't know about YOU but Marky Marky HAS BEEN leaving me alone... Has he been picketing in front of your house and have I just not been aware? This is the same as that Jeniffer Hudson shit... these people are celebrities, they spend more time in interviews than you can imagine. They answer questions and talk about things they're directed to talk about like, as I'm sure is the case he was asked about his feelings on nearly getting Brokeback. For god's sake people are allowed to have opinions and emotions that AREN'T your own. It is perfectly OK for someone straight to be a little creeped out by the possibility of shooting a graphic gay sex scence .
he's an actor...it's not like he was going to be having sex with his co-star. This was not Shortbus, you weirdos. He's just a little insecure man. Pathetic
There are ways of saying that you might find playing gay awkward or uncomfortable. Saying it creeps you out is unnecessarily hostile to people who are gay and he'd have to be an idiot not to know that. But then again he has no education to speak of and has never struck me as that bright.
Although he occasionally make amends, the guy has a history of homophobia. As a public figure, he can support gays, keep quiet about them or attack them. Unlike many straight actors, Wahlberg's inclination is to attack gays. My guess is that doing that lets him stay close to gay issues without identifying too much with them, like preachers who attack prostitution.
Good point. He does have a history of being "homophobic" and he could have used a better term. But I still get that he isn't comfortable with "gay sex" so I understand that part.. and there is nothing to get upset about him getting "creeped out" about playing the part. But he could have used a better term I suppose.
Of course if he had been "black" or some other minority and they had said "creeped out" there would have been a storm on this damn board. And do NOT deny it either, because you know its true.
Hey the guy is allowed his own opinion considering it would be him on the big screen doing "the deed" at lease he was honest about it. Aloot of my straight friends dotn want to see it as well and I totally respect them for that. I mean we are all different and deserve respect for our indiviual views. One last thing are we really still talkinig about this movie? lol!
Hope you all are having a great year so far!![]()

marky wantedjp to fuck him
For some reason or another, time to time over the years, Mark Wahlberg has led me think of him as a latent bisexual.
![]()
Yeah, the bitch is BACK!
If Jennifer Hudson can say we are going to burn in hell, a straight man can be a little creeped out about playing a man who took it up the ass. It's not like he called us sinners, and quoted we are wrong sick human beings like the cow who should remain nameless. He is just sheltered and it took him by suprise.
hudson and wahlberg = limited thinkers. don't expect much intelligence from either of them
He has a right to his opinion, but 'creeped out'?? That's crossing the line there. Mark Wahlburg is a confusing specimen, so I won't bother trying to dissect his reasons for saying it, but I really understand why he was turned down for the role, Heath and Jake are so much better looking then Mark and Jaqouin(or however u spell it), and they look better in a picture together, also, they're much better actors.
the best way to react negatively to his comments is not to spend money on him in any form.
ding
Well, you know what they say, most homophobes are classic closet cases. So
Perez Hilton if you're reading this thread, keep an eye out for this one.
I remember reading somewhere years ago that outside of a concert he stuck his dick through a fence and teased some gay boys.
I don't remember where I read it and I don't have a link. It was during the 80's or early nineties.
I have to agree with you there, Nik2.
But then again this is the same Marky Mark that has been convicted of hate crimes before. I probably wouldn't want to be anywhere near someone like that, that is a confirmed racist and homophobe.
But he is hot I have to agree.
"Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think.'' - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
I hate Mark Wahlberg i don't like any of his movies.
Not even boogie nights with that obvious fake dick!
He is so arrogant and stupid, It's acting buddy thats why your in Hollywood?
His like trying so hard to "Prove" his manhood!
His such a loser his not a good actor anyways, he would have fucked up the movie.
he's a hottie and everything yes he's entitled to his own opinion. but for some reason i think he has some other issues going on. hot as hell yes, doin me in a minute for sure, mad respect for him i dont think so.

Would some of you be disgusted at the thought of a vagina?
Peek a boo!
Now why would it seem so strange that Markie wouldn't want this role?
^^ My god that is disgusting..
That isn't a joke either. I almost puked at the site of that... YUCK
Your point is moot. Mark was not asked to put a penis in his face, not asked to put his tongue or his dick in an ass.
THIS WAS NOT SHORTBUS. It's all pretend, people. Acting.
In contrast, Tom Cavanaugh who plays gay in an upcoming film had this to say about the experience.
So much for the "I'm straight" excuse.Tom Cavanagh, who plays a gay ex-Toronto Maple Leaf in the upcoming film Breakfast with Scot is just the latest actor to be asked about what it's like to kiss a man onscreen in this interview on NBC sports:
Breakfastwithscot_1_2JW: Let's play "$20,000 Pyramid", the bonus round. I'm giving the clues. Here goes. 'Julie Bowen, Kelly Ripa, Rena Sofer, Bridget Moynahan, Ben Shenkman...'
TC: Um, 'People Who Are Better-Looking Than Me?'
JW: I'm sorry. We were looking for 'People I've Kissed Onscreen.'
TC: Here's the problem with that. You ever hear Conan O'Brien talk about the problem with having gone to Harvard? It means that you're sentenced to a lifetime of, whenever you do anything halfway stupid, having to hear, "And you went to Harvard?" Likewise, when you get to kiss these beautiful women, for the rest of your life you get no sympathy. "Oh, your leg was severed at the knee? At least you got to kiss Bridget Moynahan."
JW: You even feel that way about Ben Shenkman (whom Tom kisses in the not-yet released "Breakfast With Scot")?
TC: Let me quote Keats here: "Beauty is truth, and truth is beauty." And when you're as good-looking as Ben Shenkman, it doesn't matter if you're a man or a woman. Although, I'm not sure if Ben's wife wants to hear me say that.
Given the media's fascination with how male actors can possibly deal with having to kiss another man onscreen, I've got a feeling Cavanagh's going to have a lot more questions like this coming his way. And Breakfast, about a gay couple raising a gay kid, has already begun to inspire controversy.
Mark is a loser. He's finished anyway....and looking rough!!
I love how Mark having to stand there and thrust into the air for a few minutes, PRETENDING to have sex with a man equals looking at the inside anatomy of a vagina.
I've done some severe pruning on this thread as too many of you had your handbags out and were resorting to personal attacks instead of discussion. Please play nicely guys.![]()
That's the most biology book picture I've seen. I would guess half the time the guys don't see most of this but then again its been awhile since I done biology. Anyway I could show you someone's shitcovered rectum and explain in parts why gay sex freaks straight men out.
"Flipping Dykes I though they were a myth like Weapons of Mass Destruction" Grace Adler.
Kissing women? That's gross, they have cooties and taste like lip gloss. Whoopdie doo, Mark is uncomfortable with the same sex. He's a bigot and a hater and a sinner and doomed to hell![]()
Wrong hole fool!
See the difference is that he didn't even mention the kissing. If he had talked about the kissing scenes instead of the sex scene, I would be 90% less disappointed by this comment.
Because the kissing is something he would ACTUALLY have to do. Whereas the sex scene is just pretend.
what a creep
