It looks like the GOP is diverting cash to races that still have a rat's chance. They are on the run...

Maybe they will send the money to Colorado. Our 5th district - Colorado Springs, once the GOP's safest House seat, often has polls showing nearly tie between GOP and Dem candidates. I expect Doug Lamborn (R) to win, but it is funny to see such a safe GOP seat, last time it was won by 71%, be truly contested.

Colorado has a lot of close seats this year, and may end up becoming even more purple-blue.

The only thing that could steal defeat from the jaws of victory for the Dems...is the Dems.

Or perhaps, Diebold, Sequoia, or Triad... although they wouldn't dare mess with Pennsylvania or Montana and the districts Dems pick up in the Northeast. It will have to be close races in midwestern/southern states.

BTW, the Dems have been doing the best job I've seen since since Clinton in 1992. Even the 1998 and 2000 congressional pick-ups were done with less Dem initiative, seen as how they were just caught like deer in the headlights when it came time to challenge the legitimacy of the stolen state of Florida.

Rep. Pelosi's shrillness makes a date with Hillary seem desirable by comparison. How fun with her as Speaker of the House.

Sen., (to be majority leader), Harry Reid, will usher in a new age of ethics in Congress. By the way, Reid took money from Jack Abremoff and has three sons who are currently registered as
Congressional lobbyist, who are paid to lobby...well...Dad.

Like it or not, the election is going to turn on the War. If the Dems do what their every support group, activist and checkwriter for them wants and presides over the American withdrawl from Iraq and the Middle-East, they will, like it or not, bear much of the fall-out from the ensuing result of that.

As disasterous as the war is, the final American withdrawl will be catastrophic. Hate Bush or not, he is largley correct in his assesment of the long term problem of the Islamic world and the West. If democratic forms of government do not, in some way take hold in the Islamic Middle-East, a long, long, future of global terrorism, including NUCLEAR terror is our fate.

One billion Muslims are not going away. They are the last region on planet earth to largely reject the concept of individual rights and representative government. For those of you who are fans of the U.N. The Islamic world is heading at freight train speed AWAY from what the U.N. envisioned for the world and enshrined in it's Charter of Rights. An Ameircan defeat in Iraq will spell the end to any democratic movements in the Islamic Middle-
East for some time to come. That part of the world will continue to grow ever larger with an exploding population. Ever poorer and poorer. Ever angrier and angrier. Ever more radicalized and bent on global Jihad.

Actually, I'm a registered indipendent who has liberal views on some issues, conservative on others and don't trust, pretty much, any politician of any stripe. To the rabid Left that post on CP&E, that just will not do.

If not for their hatred of all things Bush, Republican, Neo-Con, they would not have a reason to live.

Rangel, Conyers, Murtha, Reid, Pelosi, have been most unfairly characterized in your post, in my opinion. And I yearn for a day soon when they are the majority party in Congress after all the shit we have had the past number of years with republicans in the majority.

And I think a hatred for the current administration is a sign of health. Hatred for an adminsitration is not too strong of a term for those who have made the parsing of the word torture a part of their fradulent wars, when they aren't using hatred of gays as a class value.

This proved to be a false story. (Ditto for Pennsylvania). The Times was engaging in some wishful thinking. DeWine may well lose, but neither he nor his party has given up.

NY Times poll has Brown up by 14 and Strickland up by 20!!! Natl GOP will not waste any money here.
