The type of fiber that is found in certain grains- insoluble fiber- tends to be firmer and adds bulk to the stool. This type of fiber is found in breads and cereals labeled as "whole grain", "bran" or "fiber". If you want to try the natural route, a bran muffin, whole grain breakfast cereal, oatmeal, semolina are all foods that are high in insoluble fiber. Supplements such as Konsyl and Metamucil also contain the same type of insoluble fiber.
Another factor that often gets overlooked is exercise. Consumption of fiber followed by a brief walk can also help move things along.
In a case like yours, timing is everything. So, while all these suggestions we're making will help you get into a regular schedule and will help with more complete evacuation of the rectum when you go to the bathroom, they're also things that you want to avoid immediately before sex. A big meal before sex is generally a bad idea as it will trigger movement of the bowel. As you've discovered, caffeine is a stimulant that can also stimulate the bowel to move, so you probably should avoid coffee and caffeinated drinks immediately before sex.
