JUB is not Facebook. We don't have a wall and we can't poke one another but we have awesome emoticons and free porn!
I just wish Zynga would give us a porn game.

I've learnt to pay more attention to the top left corner of my quilt (to my right as I'm lying in bed) when I have a full mug of tea freshly placed down beside it, lest it slips down and falls into the tea and soaks itself. #-o
I learned that I have well done to upgrade my dosage of antidepressant to 60mg, the black has retreated into numbness, it's way more peaceful up there.

I learned that a former friend that I thought didn't care at all about me still does at least a little bit, and there may be hope for the future.

So far not a great deal but I need a new space bar for this laptop or more precisely the springs underneath are not functioning properly because there are dead zones at the ends of the space bar (you tap and nothing happens). Yeah, I removed it already and cleaned underneath no effect...
That approximately 3000 of the most common Russian words make up about 80% of the spoken language. No, I don't speak Russian....
The most common words of a language constitute the vast majority of what people usually speak in that language: wow.

About him, and him, about the history of the Elgin cathedral, White City, that Tübingen, Marburg, Göttingen, Freiburg and Heidelberg are the five classical university towns of Germany, that Salieri became court composer in 1774, and that next Thursday starts the Christmas street lighting period in Barcelona (I knew about the Shopping Night, but was not sure about the LED crap kicking off too).

Being learned, I learned that "learnt" is primarily a European English usage and that "learnt" is now replaced by "learned" for those learned in American English. In fact, "learnt" is considered practically unlearned and may be colloquial. I learned this from Wikipedia and dictionaries.

Yep, that's right... damn the late 1980s, when I started learning British English  I always have the reflex movement to spell "learned" but then I always remember my first lessons with "learn, learned & learnt" which I assimilated as "learn, learned, learnt" Besides, being a Catalan Spaniard, I don't think there's any way in which I can avoid pronouncing a final -t rather than a -d.
not being snobbish but when I hear that word spoken it usually comes from someone named Jethro.
it's just wrong.

Damn I missed that last night: it all depends on whether you having nothing more than "love" to give sense to your life. If you have nothing else, it is better to have lost it after having "had" it, and once would be preferable to nothing.

If you survived the Sandy Beetch without it, couldn't you just wait for another century and a half until you finally are able or simply decide to buy one...

Seems that when the power goes out its out for days on end. I don't want to experience that again..also, I'm old and don't have a century so I have to,act now.

If you are so afraid of it, you might have wanted to act before... don't tell me that you needed to reach old age to experience a blackout... and how bad it can get when you are in a small town, out from the lines providing heavily populated areas. Living in a town or, worse, in the middle of nowhere with the comfort developoed through (when not actually in) a big city, is far more expensive than the average cost of a modest living, and comparable to that of an upper scale location there.
That's what gets me double and triple and more stressed about the future: where and how to live so as not to be so fundamentally vulnerable... beyond the fact being human and not being able to actually control your own destiny, that is.
In any case, I wonder how expensive the same product was a few months ago.

I was reading 20th century history of Ireland on wikipedia, (because why not?) when I came across this nastiness. Effective at getting attention to the protest, but still nasty.
