Romney will be the next president, and here's why...
1) Presidential elections have degenerated into a lying contest, in which the best con artist wins by telling gullible sheep exactly what they want to hear. This is the oldest trick in the world, and the ignorant masses fall for this scam every 4 years.
2) Obama is at a HUGE disadvantage this time because he's already shot his wad. In that he can't reuse all the pie-in-the-sky hype that got him elected the first time, since the sheep will know he can't deliver on it. As well, it'll remind them what a crock of shit his, "Yes we can" fairy tale was. This is the real reason Romney won the first debate, because his spiel had some pie-in-the-sky hype that resonated with naive suckers, pressing their hope buttons.
Essentially, the sheep have deluded themselves into thinking that just because Romney is a different snake oil salesman, he can somehow accomplish what Obama failed to do. In other words, it's the exact same scam Obama used to get elected, butt the sheep are too ignorant to realize that Romney can't pull rabbits out of his hat, either, and will only make things worse.
3) Romney has mastered the art of the con, and is now a better liar than Obama, as evidenced by his performance in the first debate. And again, due to the stupidity of the gullible masses, the con artist who's the best liar will invariably be the one who gets elected.
4) Ryan will mop the floor with Biden during the VP debate, because he's much smarter, and is almost as good a liar as Romney. Sure, Biden may successfully call him on some of his bullshit, butt Ryan will be spraying out lies faster than Biden's 4-cylinder brain can process them. So it won't even be a close contest, given the propensity of American sheep to be fooled by a slick, fast talking con artist.
5) Romney will kick Obama's ass during the next 2 presidential debates, because again, suckers will only believe pie-in-the-sky hype from a new snake oil salesman. Which means Obama's only option will be to stay on the defensive, and try to discredit Romney as much as possible. Butt sadly, it'll be a losing proposition, because Romney is obviously drinking cups of testosterone instead of coffee, and will run over Obama like a steam roller.
As well, Romney will be blasting the lies out of his machine gun mouth faster than Obama can keep up with them. Basically, his strategy is to use smoke and mirrors to be as misleading and deceptive as possible, and throw as much bullshit on the wall as he can, knowing that a lot of it will stick. So Obama really doesn't stand a chance, since he can't feed the sheep any of the pie-in-the-sky hype they love so much.

CEO to workers: You may be fired if Obama wins
David Siegel, the owner of Westgate Resorts, sent a surprising email to his employees Monday.
It said that if President Barack Obama wins re-election and raises Siegel's taxes, he will have to lay off workers and downsize his company - or even shut it down.
"If any new taxes are levied on me, or my company, as our current President plans, I will have no choice but to reduce the size of this company," he wrote. "Rather than grow this company I will be forced to cut back. This means fewer jobs, less benefits and certainly less opportunity for everyone."
<snip>
Siegel said he's not acting out of self interest, but for the interest of his workers. While Westgate has never been more profitable, the company has 5,000 fewer workers than in 2007.
He said that if Obama is re-elected and imposes Obamacare and higher taxes, he may just have to let more of his remaining 7,000 workers go. He said he might even shut down the company. (Read more: Why Larry Ellison Needs a $4 Billion Loan)
"The combination of Obamacare and taxes would be a disaster," he said." I would probably just call it a day and that would be a disaster."
Siegel stressed that he wasn't out to intimidate his workers into voting for Romney. "I can't tell anyone to vote," he said. But he wants to make sure his workers made an informed choice. "I want my employees to be educated on what could happen to their future if the wrong person is elected."

Re: Romney will be the next president, and here's why...
Please... The Romney / Obama thing is getting so old its ridiculous. To call Romney a liar and not acknowledge Obama's colorful past makes you the liar. There are no saints running for office and never have been. If you want to vote for the President great, if you want to Vote for Romney that's fine too, but this childish "Mine's the savior of civilization!" bullshit needs to end. It's not true, there's no evidence of it, and Saint Obama did not lead us to the promised land. He's just another fucking politician, just like the rest. In about 5 months it's not going to matter who got elected because the fucking bill is coming due and next year will make the last 4 look like a fucking cake walk. Obama knows it, Romney knows it, and there isn't a goddamn thing we can do about. It's to fucking late. It's already starting.

Re: Romney will be the next president, and here's why...
obama has this one in the bag. i think that his strategy is to let mitt romney basically flip flop then call him out on it in the upcoming debates. everybody knows romney is full of shit. they're just waiting for obama to pull his ho card. that's all.
-
Re: Romney will be the next president, and here's why...
People don't care about flip-flopping. As long as Romney says what they want to hear when they're tuned in, that's all they care about. They don't care if he says something different to other people - they'll just assume he's telling THEM what THEY want to hear, but being honest at the other times.
Lex the Prognosticator says: Ryan is going to hand Biden's ass on a platter tonight, at which point Romney will finally move ahead in the polls. After that, it's anyone's game. Obama might still come back, or Romney might grip hold on to that lead.

Seriously, I think most Americans are bi-polar. Everything HAS to be either this or that, Republican or Democrat, left or right, nothing in between. You guys need more choices than your silly current system. You have 32 flavours of ice cream, or 700 channels on the tv, yet only two choices for who runs your country? Crazy!

Re: Romney will be the next president, and here's why...
Obama remains unbothered with his election in the bag.
Obama was ahead, is ahead, and will stay ahead. No one after any of these debates who is an Obama supporter is going to Romney.
You can bookmark this for future receipts.

Funny - on another messageboard, I just got reamed for being a mindless Romney supporter. I guess when people on both sides think you're a sheep, then you're probably in the right spot. :)
We were discussing Romney, and people's reaction to him. So I continued on from there. Forgive me for not taking time out from that to spell out Obama's cult of personality and massive failure as a president. :)

Re: Romney will be the next president, and here's why...
for the record, romney is actually ahead slighty in the polls. i think it'll come down to a narrow margin for the obaminator. the funny thing is that there's two more presidential debates and with the flipflopping romney's doing. it's going to be used against him. there's a lot of people that are noticing how he's all over the place with his views. all obama and biden have to do is just bring that up and it's over. romney is skating on thin ice. i think that obama is just waiting to tko him within the upcoming weeks then kill him in the last debate.

Re: Romney will be the next president, and here's why...
I'm hoping that Obama will retain the title!
I just can't understand how the American population have put up with the Republicans bringing their governing system to a virtual standstill by the record-setting use of the filibuster against Obama's legislative agenda, the blocking of judicial nominees and its unprecedented (and repeated) threats to trigger a U.S. default.
If the rest of the world can see that Obama isn't the problem, the Republicans are - why can't the Americans?

We actually have more than two parties running for office - the problem is none of the other parties are quite as dynamic(or polarizing).

And they can't compete with campaigning expenses. In Canada, we limit donations and we also put caps on campaign spending. It gives all parties an equal chance. We currently have 7 parties sitting in Parliament.

If Romney does get elected it will be up to the rest of the world to let Romney "fly solo" into his military endeavors, well except for LOL Israel. Nothing says American isolationism better than being ignored by the rest of the world.

I think the last thing you need as a country is more dynamics or polarization. I think Biden whiped that smug little smirk of Ryan's face. Good show!

Shot fired at Obama campaign field office in Denver

Police say someone fired a shot at an Obama campaign field office in Denver on Friday afternoon.
No one was injured, though people were inside the offices when the incident occurred, said Denver police spokeswoman Raquel Lopez.
"It looks like it was one shot that was fired into the structure," she said.
The incident happened at about 3 p.m. at the campaign's offices on West Ninth Avenue near Acoma Street, Lopez said.
Sam Levin, a reporter for the alternative newspaper Westword, later posted a photo on Twitter showing one of the office's large, front windows broken out. By early evening, the window shards had been removed and a glass company was putting plywood up.
Lopez said police have a description of a "possible vehicle of interest." She said she could not release that information while detectives are reviewing any available video footage of the incident and pursuing leads.
An Obama campaign spokeswoman declined to comment on the incident, instead referring a question to the police.

Re: Romney will be the next president, and here's why...
The problem with third parties in the US is that they unavoidably take votes away from the major party nearest in philosophy to the third party. In effect they support the party they like least. So Nader took Democrat votes from Gore, electing Bush. Perot took Republican votes from Bush and then Dole, electing Clinton. Teddy Roosevelt took Republican votes from Taft, electing Wilson. Southern Democrats took votes from Douglas, electing Lincoln, so alarming the South that they seceeded.
