It's not just you...it's the hottest accent ever...Spanish and French accents are a distant second and third (and I also have a weird thing for Bronx and Brooklyn accents...especially Hispanic/Bronx accents...I'm probably alone in this one). But go Brits!

What type of British accent are you talking about because there are many regional accents and dialects?
For instance I don't know if you've ever heard one of the Beatles talking but they are from Liverpool and their accents are not considered the queens English, i.e posh accents.

Re: British Accent - Is it just me?
It's funny how ga-ga people go over accents. Is it me or do Americans have this overwhelming fascination? It makes me giggle, especially when I tell my Swedish friends that if they faked a British accent, they could get any American girl they wanted (they learn the Queen's English in primary school).
I think my boyfriend's accent is the cutest. It's a Greek accent (if there really is one) combined with a Swedish one. His pronunciation is so adorable - how he says "vahx" instead of of "wax" and when he goes at his medical terminology. It slays me to listen to him - I can never get mad at him for long because of it. Had he a "plain" American accent, I think he'd be in the doghouse for way much longer.

I do find a British accent pretty sexy.
Now, I'm not saying I don't find other accents or people with no accent (i.e. the same accent as I have) sexy as well, but British accesnt definitely are hot.

It's all a matter of personal preference. I happen to place a Portuguese accent as #1 on my list of sexy accents, waaaaay above a British accent. And personally, I find nothing more sexy than to hear someone sing in French. It drives me wild.

What I find interesting, though, is that many Americans I met really had no clue what I was saying. It's the same words, different pronounciation, but still no apparent recognition.

Had a similar experience in LA - walked into this bar with my American mate, after a few beers went to use the toilet or 'bathroom' - as i walked in i realised that i was more or less surrounded by gang members and commenced shitting myself. After having washed my hands i struggled to try and get some paper out of a hand dryer - they stood watching me make a fool of myself for a moment or two, then one of them pulled a handle and down came the paper
I instantly said 'Thank you very much!' and one of them said 'Wow - cool accent' - then had a 15 minute conversation about the Queen??? On the way back i passed my mate - when he returned to the table he said 'What did you say to those guys? They're still talking about you in there!'

Which British accent? There are lots!!
Received Pronunciation, which is was is commonly viewed as the main British accent by non-British people, isn't a real accent in the strict sense. It's manufactured and is generally spoken by the upper classes or well educated people.
But there is the Cockney accent, West Country, Birmingham, Scouse/Liverpool, Manchester/Mancunian, Geordie/Newcastle, Yorkshire, Scottish, Ulster! So reallly there is no one single British accent!

That wasn't very tactfully put; I think I might have chosen some restraint. I'm not attracted to foreskin, either, unless I can see the head sticking out. (Lamentably, more and more porn websites are parading foreskin.)
As for the British accents? Received Pronunciation is the most beautiful music on earth, but the lower class English accents are not aesthetically pleasing, to say the least.

Re: British Accent - Is it just me?
I've got a slightly mixed british accent, coz i was born in north London, but i've been living in Kent in the Southeast for 9 years now (not quite an essex accent, slightly less overstated than that), so i've got between a working class accent and a posh accent, in that i do pronounce most of my 't's and 'h's. I was giving a tour guide around a historic building a couple of years back, and i kept getting americans in the group telling me what a great accent i had. It was quite flattering

P.s. why is it in lots of porn thats made in Britain with British actors i.e. by Triga and Rudeboiz, the guys in it are either completely silent, dont say any more than a couple of intelligible sentances in the whole film, or are dubbed over? It really irritates me!

Re: British Accent - Is it just me?
I agree with the dissenter who said a Czech accent is hot!
Also Vietnamese.
But British is kool. I find what I guess is Received Pronunciation a bit boring; it brings to mind snooty actors in B-grade movies. But some of the "off" accents are a total turn-on.
I discovered in college that I do an excellent Cockney (or at least used to; I think learning Spanish and Greek ruined it). Our English Lit professor always called on me to read certain poems, even had me come in to some other sections to do so, because he said they were so much better in that accent. Well, at a pub near Fort Wayne one night, I'm holding forth with some buddies on topics philosophical, and since I was playing devil's advocate I was doing the Cockney bit. At one point my buddies traipsed off to the bar for drinks (I was the designated driver that night, which meant I got free steak and shrimp and chips and all), leaving me alone. I'd hardly had time to stretch when two gals descended on me demanding to know what part of "the isles" I was from, they'd had so much fun visiting there, and the accents were so SEXXXXY.... They started naming towns and villages, and I was clueless! SO I invented a story of having amnesia and never recovering so I'd just moved on with my life and did they really think I ought to go back to "the isles" to check my history?
Dudes, if I'd been a naughty boy, I could have had wild straight sex all night....
Y'all think it will work with the boys?

In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. Re: British Accent - Is it just me?
I spent some time working with American military families in Germany a few years ago. My accent got me any number of invitations and long conversations where I would have to keep saying words they wanted to hear over and over. I remember on one occasion making a call to a family to arrange an appointment 30 minutes later I had spoken to six people, just so they could hear the accent.
I also went to an American university where my accent made me quite popular, my accent is regional though but it was English to them. Personally I adore the Welsh accent and some American

I like a California American accent, personally. Some British accents are hot. Not so much the west country accent or Brummie though. London sounds nice. Other than that, I like a nice Berlin gay boy accent (In German). Berliners speak the faster more cosmopolitan form of German, and the gay ones have an extra flare.

Yeah, Im a German, but culturally I was raised as a Spaniard because my grandmother is from Valencia. So I know what real Spanish sounds like and I know what the bastardised Latin American Spanish sounds like. As not to confuse them, I tell people I speak Castilian.

When I went to school in the US, I took Spanish for some easy class credits. The proffesor was this dumb Mexican bitch who tried to emulate the way Spaniards speak during a lecture by doing the "th" thing. She did it wrong though, and made everything sound that way. In actuality it's only the C's and Z's that are pronounced "th" and the S's are pronounced as very sharp almost whistly S's. Think Penelope Cruz.
