    bblbfucker,
Welcome to JUB and the story board.
I hope you check out Neil's other stories, as well as the panoply of prose on offer.

If you want some "live" interaction, of a social bantering and generally good-natured ball busting, check out fun and games, forum, too.

And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .

    Re: Watching Brad

Rumour has it, Neil has been working on SOMETHING - whether it's Brad or one of his other stories, I'm not sure.

He was tweaking, and wound up going from building a bird's nest to the Pentagon - his words, not mine.

And, I don't know when it will be to where he approves it for our consumption.

But, at least you know he IS working on stories!

And I know, if I'll only be true, to this glorious quest . . .

^ It's not abandoned. None of my stories are. Writing is still difficult, but I keep plugging away bit by bit. I wish it were otherwise, but life simply isn't cooperating. I have no intention of stopping, though. The stories are just as important to me as they are to you.

    Something he's not alone in.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

    Neil
All I can say is the wait will be worth it... This is a fantasic story and so descriptive you can picture yourself there

I know from when I wrote a few stories in the past how time consuming it is both from the creative side and it being just how you want it to come accross
along with general work and life too

You could quite easily publish this story - there is so much scene setting and story no just sex which is fantastic

    Well Done Fella

I finally managed to read through all of the chapters of Watching Brad, which I stumbled onto back in October or November 2011. Absolutely fantastic writing skills. Love the fact that Brad has found his voice and isn't afraid to use it. Can't wait to see how the rest of this adventure unfolds.

^ Thanks. I would be lying if I said things are going 'better'. Just assume that they're not and probably never will again. That's life.

But I haven't given up on you. Not in the least. In fact, I'm jumping back and forth between 2 stories. When I get hung up on one, I switch to the other. I'll have one of them ready to post eventually.

    Stay tuned. It will happen.

    Re: Watching Brad

Neil it's taken me about 12 months to read this story off and on (I'm pretty sure it took around that, life kinda took me and I moved countries and dipped in now and again) the past few days I decided to head for the end sadly due to your health the posts of story diminshed so it didn't take as long as reading the first pages.

Firstly this story is so amazing, I shall be honest and say you should consider taking what you have further, and perhaps one day someone will assemble a Neil compendium of some kind with your stories.

It sounds a bit silly but what you can PM about it. I am interested in your health issues as such, I mean I don't know what therapies you've considered, if you lived in the UK I'd recommend seeing my mum (she's a VERY good Osteopath).

I am glad to hear that you're still able to write and such. Have you considered some other way of writing and getting someone to convert it? I mean dictating the stories perhaps and someone can write them up? Or using one of those new fangled art pad things to actually write it with your hand rather than using a keyboard (I don't know if it's the fact you have to sit at a keyboard that's part of the problem).

I will look forward to hearing more though this story is very important to me as it reflects so much on my life with my own Tiger...he's in the armed forces and spends long periods of time away from home, so reading this gives me the feelings and I can reflect on the thoughts I have with him. Right now he's been away for 2 years, but this story has helped me a lot.

This is probably my 1st and only post here, I don't know I tend not to get bogged down in community I'm a natural loner though I love being in company, yes I know a contradiction! But then I'm weird and quirky...I mean heck I've been waiting 2 years for my man to come home. Though he's nothing like Brad well at least in some ways, ha.

I look forward to reading more of you work in the future, and I'm glad the clouds lift from time to time. Also I have cousins who live in Toronto she's married to her partner I also love it when I read her status updates sometimes and she mentions Tim Hortons I think of this story. So it's a powerful story to relate that way.

    Re: Watching Brad

I am happy to hear that your thorn has left! Now you can get a much needed rest.
I have to admit that once I was a fanatic about Brad. I checked every day for updates.
But something happened and I got distracted, with good cause. My partner had some
heart issues and we moved from Central Texas to the Texas Coast. It is now 2013?
I can't believe I missed that many chapters. I'm up to 221. However, I just went through
some chapters and it appeared the last chapter I read was 206, so I don't have too
many to get caught up to. Funny thing, as I was reading 206 it appears that I haven't
forgotten about what was going on.Anyway, Neil, take care of yourself and let us
    in on the other story.

Neil - I guess I'm your newest fan, to comment anyway. I only discovered your incredible story two weeks ago. I have read nothing else in my spare time since. I literally cried when I got to the concluding (so far) chapter - I wanted it to go on and on and on. I, like most of your fans, am in love with Brad - if only he could be based upon a real, live person instead of your marvelous creation. I think most of wish we could experience an incredible human being like him. My best wishes to you and obviously my hopes that you can pick up and continue your writings again some day. Regards....

    Re: Watching Brad

Hi Neil - saw your post today under "Taking Care of Jason." You don't know how happy I and your legions of fans are to hear that you're still working on "Brad," even though the latest update progress is very slow, as you say. I hope, by this time, you have a representative who can turn a completed Brad into the published book it needs to be - the story is too brilliant not to. I'm well into my third read. I know that there's so much material that your story can continue to tell - so many character's stories to yet evolve. Your post today was so good to see - thanks.

It still is, but it has been very difficult writing. It's been a very difficult year for me. I won't go into details, but my 'difficulties' go far beyond a sore back now.

I'm not giving up on either the stories or on you, the fans. At least not voluntarily.

People are conditioned to think everything eventually gets better, or a new drug will come along. Those of us with problems beyond their experience know the reality is slim of getting "better."

Try to have a happy ho-ho. I'll be doing the adjusting entries on my ledger. It requires concentration. It's a perfect day. The phone won't ring. The telemarketers take the day off. Bah, humbug!

    Hey Neal,
This is my first post on here, and I just wanted to say how amazing "Watching Brad" is. You are a very talented writer. I hope the next installment is coming soon. Somehow I managed to read the entire story (to date) in a little over a week, it is that good.

    Much love and respect,

Hey Neil, I do feel your pains, as I suffer progressive Osteoarthritis, and it can be painful to the point that I can't do things that I normally could do, like clean house, make bed, and sometimes takes me a few minutes longer to get out of bed to start the day. Take your time with "Watching Brad".

    Re: Watching Brad

I registered just so I could leave a post. I REALLY have enjoyed this story, which I just found about a week ago. I'm currently at posting #120 or so and looking forward to continuing with the story. I really identify with the story line as it pertains to Justin & Jeremy. We had twin godsons that spent about 50% of their lives at our house . . . they had a complete 2nd life at our house for many years. They joined us on many vacations, but most of the time they just "lived" with us. Neil, when you wrote the segment of the story with the twins wraping their towels around themselves post bath-time, with the towel up under their arm pits . . . I could see it as though it had happened yesterday. Neil, you really have an amazing way of capturing human nature and bring the story to life. You have provided so much joy and entertainment to so many, I hope there are many, many wonderful people providing you all the things you need in your life. The characters in this story seem so very real to me, including their flaws. Thank you for such an enjoyable read!

I got to thinking, since I didn't get notification of "Taking Care of Jason" and had to re-subscribe, I should check this. Sure enough I had to re-subscribe to this one as well. I guess I need to go way back through Stories because I've only got one notice since JUB's software change. I encourage all the readers to check to see if you are getting notified.

Unfortunately, he's also having to face some major physical challenges, which have influenced his ability to continue his Awesome writing. However, given the Wonderful Guy that he is, I'm sure his intentions are to continue as best, and when, he can.

Bear with! And, of course ... no matter what ...

    Keep smilin'!!

    Re: Watching Brad

You and Don are both fortunate to "know" Neil in the capacity you've established. I admire him for the incredible story writer he is - he deserves high recognition as a novelist in my opinion. I'm painfully aware of his severe physical challenges and have on several occasions expressed my regards and sympathy. And yes, I am aware that he recently posted a new chapter to Jason. I acknowledged that fact here and stated that I took great encouragement from that and I'm sure many of his fans do also. Thanks
