    Neil,

This is such a wonderful story. You have brought us through the beginning of their finding each other in love to the very exciting beginnings of their sexual relationship. You are truly a master at writing. There is still so much more to happen and I, with all the others, can hardly wait for each new chapter.

    WATCHING BRAD
    Part XXI

The knocking woke me up before Lindsay's voice did. "Daddy! Can I come in?"

Shit! We were a mess. Dried cum covered my face and parts of my chest. Brad didn't look any better.

"No, Sweetheart," I called back. "Don't come in. I'll be right there, okay?"

"Okay, Daddy. Can I watch cartoons?"

"Sure. I'm going to take a quick shower, okay? And then I'll make your breakfast."

    "Okay, Daddy!"

Her quick footsteps disappeared down the hall.

Brad looked at me and grinned. "I think I'll wait until you shower before I kiss you."

"I don't think I will," I said, and mashed my lips against him.

    "Mmmm," Brad moaned.

I rolled away from him and got out of bed. Brad followed close behind.

"Do you think Lindsay would mind if we took a shower together?" he asked.

    "Why, do you want to?"

"As a matter of fact, I do."

I looked down. His cock was solid and standing out and up from his body. If I ever needed a pole to hang the old Maple Leaf, I had one.

"I'm not sure there's room in there for that. Besides, I don't have time to take care of it. I need to get Lindsay's breakfast."

Brad chuckled. "Oh, I think I can handle it by myself if I need to. So. What do you say?"

I shrugged. Lindsay already knew that grown-ups sometimes go into the bathroom together. Connie and I had done so many times. As long as we locked the door, it shouldn't bother Lindsay. "Sure. What the hell? Let's try it."

We pissed together, but I finished first and went to crank up the shower. Brad finished and flushed. When the water was just right, I stepped in. Brad joined me. It was a bit crowded, but it was the best crowd I'd ever been in.

I would have liked the shower to last longer, but duty called. Minutes later, we were towelled dry and wrapped in our respective robes. Brad joined Lindsay watching Bugs Bunny as I prepared breakfast.

"Brad!?" I yelled. "Set up the TV trays! We'll eat in there this morning!"

    "Okay," he called back.

We sat in front of the television watching the Road Runner outfox Wiley Coyote yet one more time. During a commercial break, I said, "Sweetheart, if the bathroom door is locked when I'm in there, it means Brad is in there with me. If you need me, just knock, okay?"

"Does Brad need help going to the bathroom, too?"

"No, Sweetheart," I told her with a sincere smile.

She nodded. "Grown-up things," she said. "Like the bedroom door. Okay, Daddy."

"Thank you, Sweetheart." I kissed her hair and that was that.

Brad asked, "How long do you think it will take to pack up Lindsay's stuff?"

"Oh, a few hours at most," I said. "I've got the U-Haul for the whole weekend anyway, so even if we don't unload it tonight, we can do it tomorrow. But I want to get everything out of there today."

I waited until Lindsay stopped giggling at Wiley's latest ACME failure and asked, "Do you know where all your stuff is at the apartment, Sweetheart?"

"In my bedroom. Mommy won't let me have it anywhere else in the house. There's some things in the livingroom, too." She stopped eating and looked at me. "Are we really bringing all my junk here?"

"Yes, Sweetheart," I assured her. "This is where you're going to live from now on. You'll never go back to that apartment again."

I thought she might cry, but she smiled instead. "That's good, Daddy. I don't like living there anyway."

"You'll have to go to a new school."

She pointed over her shoulder, which was pointing at the kitchen and nowhere near the new school. "You mean this one here?"

    "Yup," I said.

Her face crinkled in thought as she tapped her lip. "I'll miss my old friends, but I'll make new ones."

"You can still go visit your old friends, Sweetheart," I assured her. "I can take you there any time you want to do."

"That's okay, Daddy. I didn't really like them anyway," she said. "I might go visit Wendy, though. She was my best friend."

I smiled at her. "Then you can invite Wendy over for a visit some weekend. She can spend the night here."

Lindsay's face lit up. "Really, Daddy? Can I?"

"Sure," I said, grinning. "We can bring your bed from the apartment and keep it in the basement. When Wendy or any of your other friends come to visit, we can set it up in your room. There's plenty of space."

"Or, we could sleep on the floor on the air mattresses," she suggested. "It would be like camping."

    "Whatever you like, Sweetheart."

    "Can she come over tonight?"

"We're going to the movies, remember?"

There was that lip-tapping again. "Maybe she could go with us," she suggested with a whole of ‘please, please, please' included in it.

"Okay, you can phone her after breakfast and see."

Lindsay went back to eating at double-speed, wanting to finish as quickly as she could. I looked at Brad and he was smiling at me. "I'm glad I don't have your job," he said softly.

"It's the best job in the world, Brad," I said, and I turned to Lindsay and kissed her on the top of her head.

    * * * * *

We told Wendy's mother that we'd stop by on our way home from the apartment to pick her up. We'd call first to let her know we were on our way.

After stopping at the U-Haul rental and picking up the truck, we stopped at the Mail Box Etc and bought a pile of flat boxes and a roll of packing tape. I drove the truck, with Lindsay sitting beside me, and Brad followed in my car. I'd already phoned the police for their escort and an officer met us at the apartment. The super was located and the situation was explained by the officer. The super accompanied us to the apartment. I used Lindsay's key to open the door.

We all stepped inside, Brad following last with the cart and empty boxes and tape.

"Okay, Sweetheart, let's start here." We were in the livingroom. "Is anything here yours?"

"Only my games and puzzles and coats and boots in the closet and my movies and stuff over there," she said, pointing.

I opened two sets of double doors. "Okay, Sweetheart. Are all these games and puzzles yours?"

She looked up, looking over the stacks. "The puzzles are all mine. That game in the blue box is Mommy's, and so is that white one on top." I pulled out the blue box game and the one on top. Both were adult games. I set them inside the closet on the floor.

"Anything else?" I picked her up so she could see better.

    "No, they're all mine."

I set her back down. "You gather your movies and songs, Sweetheart. Put them all on your bed. We'll get these things for you." She set to work. "Brad?" I piled his arms with as many puzzles as he could carry, then followed Lindsay to the bedroom. I started piling my own arms. The officer stood nearby, taking notes. The super sat on the sofa, waiting.

With the closet empty, I shut the doors. "Anything else in here, Sweetheart?"

She walked to a high wall shelf. "Just that vase. I bought it at school at a garbage sale."

"Rummage sale, Sweetheart," I said, smiling at her.

"Oh, yeah." I retrieved her vase. She looked around again. "That's all, Daddy." She was just reaching for the vase when she shouted, "Oh! My music box!"

    "Where is it?"

"In Mommy's room. In a drawer." She took the vase and headed for the bedroom, the officer and myself tagging along. Brad waited in the livingroom. "In there," Lindsay said, pointing to a long dresser. She walked to the dresser and pointed. "Here," she said.

I opened the drawer. There were several jewelry boxes there. "Which one?" Again, Lindsay pointed and I picked it up.

"Mommy said I could have it when I grow up."

"Uh oh," I said as I looked at the officer.

He looked Lindsay up and down. "She looks grown up to me. If your ex wants it bad enough, she can sue you for it." He added the box to his list. "But I wouldn't bet on her doing that."

I opened it and a ballerina rose up and music began playing Music Box Dancer by Hagood Hardy. I always loved that tune. There were several rings and other items were in it. "Is this stuff yours, too?" I showed the open box to Lindsay.

    "No, just the box."

I opened another jewelry box and moved the items into it. "Nothing else?"

    "No, Daddy."

    "How about the kitchen?"

    "Just my sippy cups."

I smiled. "I think you're a little too old for sippy cups, Sweetheart."

She leaned into me and whispered, "So do I, Daddy."

The officer chuckled loudly. "Scratch the sippy cups."

    "Bathroom next, then," I said.

As we passed through the livingroom, Brad asked, "Want me to start packing up her room?"

"No," I told him, "not until the officer can see."

Brad nodded. "I'll start taping boxes then."

We gathered Lindsay's toiletries into a plastic bag which Lindsay had retrieved from the kitchen. Finally, it was off to Lindsay's bedroom. "Okay," I said, "this looks like it, Officer. We'll be taking everything here except that dresser and the computer desk. My mother gave Lindsay that other dresser. It's going with her. And we'll be taking the bed. Lindsay wants it for sleep-overs."

The officer began writing. I opened the closet and dresser drawers so he could see.

"Okay, Mr. de Villiers," the Officer said. "I'll leave the superintendent here to keep an eye open and lock up after you. I trust you won't take anything else?"

I put my hands on Lindsay's shoulders. "The only ‘anything else' I want to take is right here."

The officer held out his hand. "Good luck, Mr. de Villiers." To Lindsay, he said, "And you take good care of your Daddy."

"I will, Mr. Policeman," Lindsay said with a huge grin on her face.

It took only a few hours to pack and load up the truck. Before we left, I got the rental information from the super and explained that I would present proper vacate notice to the landlords and would pay the last two months of rent. I was told she still had seven months remaining on her lease. I'd get Al working on breaking it.

    "Do you collect the rents?"

    "Yes," the super replied.

"I'll be paying the rent to the courts," I explained. "They will contact you."

    "Yes, Sir," he said.

"They'll also be contacting you about having the apartment cleared out and put into storage as soon as we can make the arrangements."

    The super nodded.

When Lindsay was certain that she had everything she wanted, we left the apartment for the last time. Lindsay gave her key to the superintendent and he locked the door. Lindsay didn't even look back as we walked down the hallway on our way home.

    * * * * *

We were packed and loaded and driving home by four o'clock. Brad drove my car and was on his way to KFC to pick up supper. Lindsay wanted chicken. So, she and I pulled in front of Wendy's house with a U-Haul full of her stuff.

Wendy's mother was a bit surprised until I explained the situation. Wendy, however, was all excited about riding in a big truck. I told Wendy's mother we'd bring her back tomorrow afternoon, then off we went.

Brad had the chicken and salads all set out when we got there. He was waiting to pour the pop until he found out what everyone liked to drink. He'd bought a good assortment.

Brad and I cleaned up the table after dinner as the girls played in Lindsay's room. We were going to set up the bed, but they both decided they wanted to sleep on the air mattresses. We had time to blow them up before we left for the theatre.

I didn't like the movie. I thought it was silly, but the girls loved it. I even heard Brad chuckling occasionally. As promised, we stopped at Tim Horton's for a snack, then back home for bed. I expected the girls to be awake for hours, giggling and playing as little girls do at sleep-overs, but they were pretty tired - especially Lindsay - and were asleep by eleven.

Brad was going to go home for the night, but I talked him into staying. We went to bed shortly after the girls were asleep, and we were sawing our own logs shortly thereafter. Both of us were too tired to pecker up.

    * * * * *

Wendy was a dream child. It's no wonder she and Lindsay got along so well. They even played quietly in Lindsay's room until Brad and I woke up on our own. Brad headed for the shower as I helped the girls pick up their bed sheets and unplug the air mattresses. They had a ball squishing out all the air with their feet as I prepared breakfast.

They returned to Lindsay's bedroom after eating and I cleaned up the kitchen. I wasn't begrudging a single penny of the money I'd spent on the dishwasher. Brad started unloading the truck as I cleaned up. We stacked it all in the livingroom until we could sort through it and store what wasn't needed in the basement.

Wendy didn't want to go home, but I promised her she could come back again and stay for a whole weekend sometime. She was happy with that. And she got to ride in the big truck again when I dropped it off at U-Haul.

Sadly, Wendy never came back again after she had told her mother how much fun she'd had with Lindsay and her two Daddies. My first encounter with prejudice. It saddened Lindsay for awhile, but she was making new friends in the neighbourhood and quickly forgot about Wendy. She never did talk about how she felt about that, even when I asked her. All she would say was, "It's okay, Daddy. I have other friends."

We visited Bernice and John when we got back from dropping Wendy off at her home. Bernice had left a note on our door that we were invited to dinner. I'd never had ham done like that before. It was sliced and glazed. I took a bite and my eyes opened wide and I stopped chewing, just letting the flavour flow through me. It was somehow familiar, but there were so many different flavours all mixed up that I couldn't sort through them.

I started chewing again and looked at Bernice. "This is delicious!" I exclaimed. "Can I get the recipe?"

"A thick slice of ham, a squirt of mustard, a fork of brown sugar, and a drizzle of honey. Smush it all together and bake."

    "That's it?"

    "That's it."

I looked at my plate again. Suddenly, one slice didn't look like enough.

"This is good, Daddy," Lindsay said, trying to cut another slice. She usually did pretty well with her cast, but had some problems slicing meat. This was one of those times. I sliced it for her while she ate her fluffy, white, mashed potatoes.

Cherry pie and ice cream followed for dessert, then we sat around the table sipping coffee and chatting while Lindsay went into Brad's bedroom to play his video game.

"We're thinking of papering your room next week, Bradley," Bernice said.

"I don't like wallpaper in my bedroom," Brad said. His surprise wasn't very well disguised.

"I know," Bernice said. "But I do. I'm turning it into a sewing room. I've always wanted a sewing room."

I saw John taking a sip of his coffee, but the mug couldn't hide his smirk. When he saw me looking at him, he winked.

"A sewing room!? Where am I supposed to sleep!?"

"Well, Bradley," Bernice continued, "if you ever come visit us, I suppose you could sleep on the sofa."

Brad realized he'd been had. "Mom!"

"Actually, Son," John said, "it's been quite pleasant around here lately. We've been enjoying the peace and quiet, but you're still welcome here anytime."

Brad hung his head, blushing and shaking his head back and forth.

"I guess I have been monopolizing him lately," I offered.

John reached out and placed his hand on Brad's arm. "We miss you, Bradley, but this is your decision. If that's where you want to be, then that's where you should be."

Brad placed his hand on his Father's hand and smiled. "Thanks, Dad. That's where I want to be."

"Then that's where you belong." He retrieved his hand and sipped his coffee. "We'll manage."

"How is Lindsay handling it?" Bernice asked.

"I think she knows what's going on," I said. "She may not understand it totally yet, but she knows. I'm just glad Connie didn't leave any serious lasting impressions. I mean, Lindsay hasn't had nightmares or anything like that. She doesn't even ask where her Mother is."

    "That's good."

"You don't call her The Bitch anymore," Brad mentioned, his brow pulled down in remembering.

I thought about that for a moment. "I don't see her that way anymore," I said. "I kind of feel sorry for her. She had everything and she threw it all away for greed."

Bernice clicked her tongue and shook her head. "That's so sad, but she was so mean and nasty to both you and Bradley in court that day."

"Oh, that," I said as I sat back in my chair. "She was mad. She thought she had it in the bag. Brad was her best weapon to get Lindsay away from me. When I gave my statement at the beginning, I pulled the rug right out from under her, especially when the Judge told her it was irrelevant. She'd lost her ace in the hole."

"Bernice told me about it, Ted," John said. "You took a big chance. It could have backfired on you and Lindsay could have ended up in Children's Aid."

"Not really, Dad," Brad offered. "It's discrimination if it was used against him."

I continued. "Connie knew that nothing was more important to me than Lindsay. Not even money. I refused to bow to her desires and make her rich. She hated me for that, and, because I took away everything that was precious to her, she was going to take away the only thing that precious to me."

Bernice was nodding her head. "I think I understand now." She looked up at me. "That's why she relinquished all her rights to Lindsay. She was only using Lindsay as a tool, and she thought your relationship with Bradley would have shot you down. She probably thought the courts would prefer to give a child to an abuser rather than a homosexual couple. When she found out otherwise, she knew she couldn't use Lindsay as a tool anymore." She held up a finger as she looked down at the table. "But wait," she added. "If she gave up all parental rights so soon after the trial. . ."

Her voice trailed off and John picked it up. "She never really wanted Lindsay in the first place."

I nodded. "That's why I feel so sorry for her now. I can't imagine not wanting Lindsay in my life. I can only wonder why she didn't."

Lindsay's running footsteps came down the hall from Brad's room. She ran to me and crawled into my lap. "Can I have a cookie, Daddy?"

I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her forehead. "There aren't any cookies, Sweetheart."

She whispered in my ear, but everyone heard her. "I know where Grandma hides them."

Brad leaned forward and whispered in her ear, "I do, too. I'll get you some." He stood and went to retrieve the cookies and a glass of cold milk.

We chatted more about nothing in particular, sipping coffee and munching chocolate chip cookies. Lindsay managed one whole cookie and a bite from the second cookie before she fell asleep against my chest.

"Would you like to lay her down, Ted?" Bernice asked.

"No," I replied. "I'd like to hold her."

    "Such a dear child."

It was getting dark when we went home. Bernice sent more clothes for Brad and a good supply of cookies for Lindsay. "It you and Bradley want some time alone, Ted, Lindsay's welcome to stay here."

"We've got a nice guestroom now," John joked.

    "Dad!"

Bernice gave both Lindsay and me a kiss on the cheek, even though Lindsay was still asleep for hers. John shook my hand. Brad kissed them both and received a kiss on the cheek from each of them.

Lindsay stirred as I was undressing her. "Pee, Daddy," she whimpered. I took her to the bathroom, and soon she was changed into her nightgown and tucked into bed, sound asleep.

I joined Brad in the livingroom. He had a beer for each of us. His IOU paper was still stuck to the bulletin board, but we didn't make marks on it anymore. "I never thought it would be like this, Ted."

    "Hmm?"

"Well, I was worried before. I was afraid I'd be in the way here. I was afraid I'd keep you away from Lindsay. I don't know how you do it, but you're always there for both of us. Whichever one of us needs you, you're there."

"It's a job I wouldn't want to get paid for."

Brad turned to me and kissed me. "I'm starting to feel like I belong in this family."

    "You do," I told him.

"But it's not what I thought it would be. I thought you'd go to work and I'd go to school. When we got together, we'd have sex. When Lindsay was here, we'd wait until she went to bed and then we'd have sex."

"Are you saying we're not having enough sex?"

"No. I'm saying that's what I thought it would be like. There's a whole lot more to being a family than I thought. The sex is fun, but it's not as important as I thought it would be, and, when it happens, it's a lot better than I could hope for."

"Brad," I said, "it's late. I'm tired. It's been a tough week. I'm not following you."

He turned to me and took my hands in his. "I'm saying, Ted, that I like this. I like being with you and I like being with Lindsay. I like being part of this family. And I love sleeping in the same bed with you. I love that you're not hung up on my pants all the time. I'm here because you want me here. Not just for the sex, but just because I'm with you."

I smiled at him. "Well, I'm kinda glad you packed your shorts when you came. But I think I know what you mean. And both Lindsay and I. . ." I kissed him. "Love. . ." I kissed him. "You. . ." I kissed him. "Being. . ." I kissed him. "Here." I kissed him for a long, long time.

    * * * * *

By Wednesday, our bedroom was painted and everything was set back into place. All the boxes in the livingroom were sorted through and everything was put away where it should be. Lindsay had all the things she wanted in her room and a few of her collections now decorated the livingroom and kitchen and den where everyone could enjoy them as well. That made her happy. Her Mother had never allowed them out of her room.

It was late Wednesday night, now. Lindsay was in bed, sound asleep. Brad and I sat on the sofa, holding each other and staring at the phone. I'd been a nervous wreck all day. I waited for the phone to ring at work, and now, at home, I sat there waiting some more. At least Brad was there waiting with me.

Warren's surgery should have been over hours ago. By the afternoon, actually, or at least early evening. Bill had promised he would phone, but he hadn't. It was well-past midnight, but I refused to budge. I'd stay awake all night if necessary. Brad held me that night, stroking my arm and kissing my hair. We didn't speak. He just held me as I watched the telephone, willing it to ring.

It was 3:13 on Thursday morning when it finally rang, and it scared the hell out of me. It rang two times before I could move.

I picked it up and placed it sideways to my ear. Brad moved close so he could hear.

    "Bill?" I said.

    Part XXII

"Hi, Teddy." Warren's voice could barely be classified as a hoarse whisper, but it screamed in my ear. I squeezed my eyes shut, closing off the tears. Brad's strong arm pulled me against him and his other hand clamped onto my thigh. "Still here," he added.

I found my voice somewhere. "Hi, Warren."

There was a rustling sound, and then Bill's voice came over the receiver. "Hi, Ted. Bill here. Sorry for the keeping you up so late. Warren made me make a promise before they took him in for surgery. If he survived, he wanted to be the one to tell you."

I couldn't talk. My body was shaking and I was crying my relief. Every tear washed a little bit of the anxiety of the past few days out of me. Brad grabbed my hand to hold the phone steady.

"Hi, Bill," Brad said. "It's Brad. Ted can't talk right now, but he can hear you."

"Okay, thanks, Brad," Bill went on. "Ted? Warren's asleep again already. He woke up just a few minutes ago and I called you. He's still fifty-fifty, but the doctor said the odds would get a lot better if he makes it through the night."

I nodded. "Thanks, Bill," Brad said. "How are you holding up?"

"I've been prepared for this for a long time. That counsellor Ted found for us was a dream. I think that's why I'm not a dish of Jell-o. Is Ted alright?"

"I'm okay," I said raggedly. It didn't sound like my voice. "I was just so scared, Bill."

"I was, too, pal," Bill said. "But I knew I would be when I signed up for this." He paused only a moment. "Look, Ted, I'm not sure what you said to him, but everything changed when you came up with Lindsay that day and Brad didn't come with you. Warren loves you more than you know, pal. After your visit, it was like he couldn't die without knowing that you were okay, and when he found out that you were, it was like he didn't want to die just so he could see how happy you are now. If it wasn't for you, Ted, I think I'd be dressed in black right now."

"Thanks, Bill. Is there anything I can do?" I asked. My voice still wavered.

"No," Bill answered. "It's up to Warren now, but he's not going to give up without one helluva fight. He'll be here awhile before he can come home, but when he does, the first people he wants to see is you and Lindsay and Brad."

    "Is he allowed visitors?"

"Just me. He'll be in intensive care for awhile yet, but I'll call as soon as he's in a room. You could visit him then."

    "Thanks, Bill."

"Okay, pal. Talk to you later, eh? I'll call you tomorrow and let you know how he is."

    "Thanks for calling. Goodbye."

    "Bye."

Brad had to hang up the phone. I was a goner. I just collapsed in tears. He was wonderful. He got me to my feet and led me to the bedroom. He undressed me and put me to bed, then he went out to shut down the house for the night. He came back in, undressed, made sure the alarm clock was set, turned out the table lamp, and got into bed. He kissed me goodnight, and then he held me all night long as I slept.

    * * * * *

By lunchtime the next day, Warren's chances were bumped up to sixty-forty. By the time I got home from work that afternoon, they were seventy-thirty. I don't know what the odds were when I went to bed. Seventy-thirty was good enough for me, and I slept like a baby that night.

    * * * * *

Brad and I spent the whole weekend alone. Bernice and John had taken Lindsay to stay overnight on Friday and we had spent the whole night making the best love we could, experimenting and trying new things, but only with our mouths and hands. We hadn't advanced to other more exotic things yet.

Somehow, Brad managed to coax three orgasms out of me. I can't remember the last time I'd had three orgasms in one day, let alone just a few hours. I managed to get four orgasms out of him. The first one was with just my mouth. My jaws were killing me, but I refused to give in and stuck with it to the very end. I still couldn't get much more than the head in my mouth, but Brad was more than happy with that. He showed me how happy he was by pumping his juice into me. The first shot almost sent me into a panic. I knew his power and amount, and I thought I was prepared for it, but it was like a whole package of Pop Rocks going of in my mouth all at the same time. I almost gagged, but I managed to swallow it, ready for the next volley. It was something I wanted desperately, and I made myself do it. I took it right to the very end.

Brad kissed me for ten minutes after that.

Later, as we sat in the bathtub together - for the first time, but certainly not the last - he said, "You can call me Bradley if you want."

"Don't you like me calling you Brad?"

"Yes, but I don't mind if you want to call me Bradley."

"You don't even like that name."

"I do if you say it."

"Do you mind if I just call you Brad?"

    "No."

"Then I want to call you Brad."

"Okay," he said. And then he said, "And I want to live here. Can I?"

By noon on Saturday noon, all of Brad's things were in my house and his old bedroom was officially the Hayes' guestroom. Lindsay had talked me into letting her stay another night with Grandma and Grandpa.

"She's no trouble, Ted," Bernice had assured me. "We love having her here."

"Grandma's going to help me make brownies!" Lindsay said as I held her in my arms. "Please let me stay, Daddy?"

"Well," I said, "as long as Grandma and Grandpa don't mind." Lindsay had begun calling John ‘Grandpa' a few days ago.

John spoke up. "Believe me, Ted," he said quietly and with a kind smile on his face, "this house hasn't felt this happy since Bradley was a boy." His eyes glanced at his wife and I knew precisely what he meant.

"Okay, Sweetheart," I told my daughter. "You can stay." She kissed me with a loud smack on the lips. "I'll go home and get some clean clothes and a clean nightgown, okay?"

"Perhaps you could bring some things she could leave here?" Bernice added hopefully. "Bradley's dresser looks so empty now."

"Sure," I smiled. "I can find some things to bring over."

So, Brad had moved out and Lindsay had moved in. Brad left his television and gaming system there for Lindsay whenever she visited, including all his hand-held games. She had more than enough to keep her occupied while she was there.

We left his things still packed in garbage bags and boxes, lying on the bedroom floor. We showered together, changed, and went out for the rest of the day. I wore shorts and a shirt. It was too hot for pants. Brad was the ‘man in white' again, with white, thigh-length shorts and a crisp, white T-shirt. I have to admit, I enjoyed the attention he garnered. He was stunningly beautiful if I may say so myself.

His shorts were loose enough to hide him, but not so loose that people couldn't see how lucky he was. His T-shirt was another thing, though. Skin-tight. His nipples poked out in little bumps and it clung to his pecs and stomach and back as if he had simply painted himself white. There wasn't anything on it - no decals or witty sayings - but it certainly did its job in drawing people's attention away from what lingered below.

The first thing we did, which I had decided upon since we'd had our first bath together the night before, was to go shopping for a hot tub. I wanted one. I'd wanted one for a long time, and now I could afford it. It would fit nicely on the back patio. I found a nice kit. Small, but big enough for four people, and it came complete with steps, privacy fencing, locking gate, a surrounding deck, and an insulating cover. The tub was certified for Canadian winters, but I didn't expect to be using it when the windchill is thirty below. The price included installation, which would be done before the next weekend.

Oh, and I bought Lindsay one of those Dolphino pools from Canadian Tire. We couldn't dive in it, but it looked like it would be fun to splash around in. And I couldn't wait to see Brad in a Speedo. I made him buy a few. As Eric Idle would say, "Wink. Wink. Nudge. Nudge. Say no more. Say no more."

Brad didn't think he could install the security fence I wanted around the pool, so we went fence shopping and ordered one. I told them the size of the pool and they calculated the size of fence I would need. It would take two days to drill the holes, pour the concrete, and erect the fence. They could do the drilling and pouring the next Saturday and finish up on Monday. That was fine with me. Of course, we'd have to wait until Lindsay's cast came off before she could really enjoy it, but at least we could get her wet.

We stopped off at a pub for a beer and watched some cricket on the big-screen television for awhile. I didn't understand the game, but it was interesting to watch. "Man!" Brad said. "F-Zero would look incredible on something like that!"

"Dream on, Brad," I told him with a small grin. But, I knew what Brad was going to get for Christmas.

We just talked and laughed and sipped at our beers, and then it happened. It wasn't the beer. We hadn't had enough of that to get even light-headed. Brad was just looking at me, and then he said, "I love you," and he kissed me - right there - on the lips. It wasn't a big kiss. Just big enough to show his words in action. When he pulled away again, I took a quick glance around. Everyone was going on with their own business. The only people looking at us were a pair of gentlemen about my age, and one of them smiled at me and winked.

Brad apologized soon after. "I shouldn't have done that to you, but I had to see if I could."

I just looked at him for a moment and said, "I love you, too, Brad." And I kissed him back.

We didn't kiss in the restaurant I took him to later for dinner, but we held hands.

    * * * * *

"The days with you just keep getting better and better," Brad said as we sat on the sofa at home, our feet propped up on the coffee table. A DVD was playing on television, but I don't even remember which movie it was. It doesn't matter, really. I wasn't watching it. The lights were turned down low and we sat there in just our underwear. My mind wasn't focused on the television screen.

I was feeling quite comfortable in these new briefs now. I liked the way they felt and Brad liked the way they looked on me. I made a mental note to toss the tightie-whities the next day.

The movie finished and I clicked it off and shut down the television. When I settled back into the sofa, Brad started kissing me. It was just a kiss at first, and it became a whole lot more quickly enough. His hand was in my underwear and pulling my swiftly-hardening cock free of the cotton polyester blend. He hooked the waistband under my balls and sank my shaft into his mouth. I put my hand on his back and my hips pushed upward.

I could feel the head of my cock pressing against his throat and I could feel it tightening and closing. Brad pulled back a bit, sucked air through his nose, and moved downward again. Once more, I was pressed against the entrance to his throat, but he didn't stop this time. I could feel his throat relaxing, and suddenly I was slipping inside. His face dropped then and, a moment later, I could feel the stubble of his cheek tickling my balls.

I'm glad Lindsay wasn't there. My groan of pleasure exploded into the silence of the livingroom like a crash of thunder. I called out Brad's name. He'd done it! I could feel him swallow around me, and then his head was moving - up and down, and each time it went down, I pushed into his throat.

I didn't last long. I couldn't. I'd never felt anything so incredible in my life. Only minutes later, I was grasping his hair in ecstacy as I pumped my seed into him.

I fell back into the sofa, exhausted beyond belief. My eyes were closed as I waited for my body to come down from the highest high it had ever known. And then I felt the shaking. I opened my eyes and turned my head. Brad had his left thumb holding his underwear under his balls, his right hand flying fast and furiously over his cock. He wasn't just jerking off. He was making himself cum, and that was all. There was no time for fun and games. His orgasm was the only thing on his mind, and it was the only thing on my mind, too.

I bent over and took the head of his cock into me. He stiffened significantly, his entire body tensing at the new sensations, and he continued stroking himself. I sucked as hard as I could, and Brad's groan of ecstasy was soon echoing mine. I steeled myself for the barrage, and I wasn't disappointed. It came hard and fast this time, and with far more power than before, but I held on valiantly and took it all. Brad was much too precious to allow any part of him escape me.

It took a long time for him to calm down after that one, and I held him and kissed him until he did. When he could speak again, his first words were, "It was so-o-o-o-o worth waiting nineteen years for you to come along."

I replied, "It was more than worth the thirty-two years I had to wait for you."

We kissed again, and then we went to bed.

    * * * * *

We were eating breakfast the next morning. We hadn't dressed following our shower together, and we were sitting there, naked. I'd never eaten a meal while I was naked in my life. But Brad wanted to do it, so I wanted to do it with him. It wasn't too bad after my ass warmed up the chair.

I was just about to take a bite of toast when Brad said, "Your cum tastes different."

I grinned, my eyebrows rising in surprise. "Say what?"

"Your cum," he explained. He kept on eating breakfast as if he were talking about the weather. "It doesn't taste the same as it did before."

"Maybe you're just getting used to it," I offered.

"No. It's different. It's not as bitter as it was before."

    "Sorry," I apologized. "I didn't know I was bitter."

"It was. I didn't mind it. I still liked it because it was yours, but I like it better now. I think it was the cigarettes."

"I didn't know cigarettes could change the taste of semen."

"Sure. I read about it. Now I can taste the beer instead of the cigarettes."

"Aw, come on, Brad," I said. "Now I know you're pulling my leg."

    "No, I'm not. Honest."

"Are you telling me you can get drunk giving a blowjob to an alcoholic?" I couldn't help but laugh at all this.

"No, of course not," he said. "But you would be able to tell what he drinks." He looked at me. "I'm not joking, Ted. It's true. Haven't you noticed?"

I stopped laughing and began remembering. "No."

"Well, maybe not," he admitted as he went back to eating his breakfast. "I haven't been drinking beer that long. The next time you cum, taste it. You'll see."

I did. That night. He was right.

    * * * * *

It was a fun weekend. Lindsay didn't want to come home and, frankly, I don't think Bernice wanted her to come home, either. She finally came home, though, with a plate full of chocolate brownies and a promise that she could go back again for another weekend.

Before I left for work the next morning, Brad asked me, "How much can I spend on the landscaping?"

"I haven't even seen your pictures yet."

He winked. "I want it to be a surprise. How much can I have?"

    "How much do you need?"

"I can do a so-so job for about a grand."

"How much would you like to have then?"

    "Fifteen hundred?"

There was no resisting that beautiful face, especially when he held his mouth open like that and showed me his chipped tooth. "Two grand, tops," I said, and he grinned, wrapped his arms around me and gave me a great, big kiss. Lindsay giggled from somewhere nearby.

I shoved Brad back and pulled my wallet out of my pocket. I fished through the credit cards until I found the one I wanted and handed it to him. "I've already added your name to it."

He took the card and looked at it, then he looked at me. "You really trust me this much?"

    "Yes, I do, Brad."

He kissed me again and I had to push him away again. "I'm going to be late for work. See you tonight."

When I drove into the driveway, Brad was still digging. He wore his sneakers and his cut-offs. My front yard was a mess. There were holes and piles of dirt and sod everywhere. I walked up to him and kissed him.

"I hope you know what you're doing."

"I've got a pretty good idea now," he said with a grin. "It only took me twenty minutes to figure out which end of this spade to stick in the ground."

I looked around at the instruments propped up against the house and lying about the yard. "I've never owned a spade in my life. Where did these come from?"

"Some from Dad, but I had to go out and buy a few," he said proudly. "Don't worry, Ted. I won't go a penny over two grand."

"I know you won't. Look, I'm going to go change. Need any help here?"

"No," he said as he glanced around. "I want to do this by myself. Could you call me when supper's ready? All I had was a bologna sandwich for lunch. I'm kinda hungry. Oh, the pool was delivered."

"Good. I'll get right on dinner." I gave him another peck on the lips and went inside. "Lindsay! I'm home!"

Lindsay came running from the livingroom. "Daddy! Look!", she yelled. "Look what I'm making for you!"

She held up a square piece of thin plastic with a grid pattern on it. Part of it was already stitched with strips of blue yarn and a thread of it was dangling with a large, fat needle hanging on the end of it.

"It's a coaster!" she said proudly, her face beaming up at me.

"You shouldn't be running with this needle, Sweetheart."

"It's round, Daddy," she said, taking the needle in one hand and pushing it against the palm of her other hand. "It's not sharp. See?"

"Still, I don't want you to run with it, okay? If you fall, it can still stick in you."

    "Okay, Daddy, I won't."

I looked at my coaster again and I was very impressed.

"Terry's teaching me to do it," she announced. Terry appeared behind Lindsay, holding her handbag. "I tried to stop her, Mr. Dee, but she was gone before I could. I hope you don't mind. I was just teaching her how to do plastic canvas needlework."

"It's very beautiful," I said, looking back at my coaster. I handed it back to Lindsay, then picked her up and gave her the proudest kiss I could give her. "I love it, Sweetheart. I can't wait to use it."

"Oh," Terry said, "I thawed out some steaks for your dinner for you. The potatoes and carrots are peeled and on the stove. Mrs. Hayes brought over an apple pie for dessert."

"Thank you, Terry," I said, "but that's not part of your job."

"I don't mind. Besides, Lindsay helps me, too, so I'm sort of doing my job." Her smile was enchanting and I knew she was doing all these extra things because she wanted to and not because she had to.

Terry squatted down in front of Lindsay. "If you can finish this all the way around the outside tonight, I'll show you how to fill in the middle tomorrow, okay?"

    "Okay, Terry."

"Do you remember how to tuck the yarn underneath and go around corners?"

"Yup," my daughter said with a proud grin.

"Good. I'll see you tomorrow morning." She stood up. To me, she said, "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Terry," I said. "Thank you."

She blinked and nodded. "She really can't hurt herself with that needle, but just keep your eye on her."

    "I will," I promised.

Lindsay sat at the kitchen table working on her needlework while I prepared dinner. "Sweetheart, would you tell Brad to start cleaning up? Dinner's almost ready and I want him to shower, first."

She was off without a word.

I was getting to enjoy this family life again. Even my best years with Connie had never been like this. I was content, and, between you and me, I didn't care what Brad did when he finished college. I felt it was my job to take care of him now, just like any other partner I had been with. I didn't care if he was a man. He was my man, and I was the breadwinner in the family. Mind you, I didn't want him to become a housewife or anything. He had his own life to live just the same. He had to do what he wanted to do. I'm just saying that I was prepared to look after him as long as I was able.

Lindsay came back in, ran to the bathroom, and grabbed a towel. "Where are you going with that?" I shouted as she ran through the kitchen again.

"Brad needs it!" she shouted back.

    "Is he okay!?"

    "Yes!"

And then I heard the front door slam shut.

She came back in, set her needlework aside, and began setting the table. It was her daily chore.

Brad came in the back door a few minutes later, barefoot, and his shorts and underwear in his hand. The towel was wrapped around his waist. He went to the basement door and tossed his clothes down the steps. "I'll wash them when I'm showered." He trucked himself off to the bathroom and, moments later, I heard the shower running.

"He was dirty," Lindsay said with a titter. "And he stinked."

Brad devoured his steak and I gave him half of mine as well. Guess he'd worked up quite the appetite digging up my yard. I watched him eat. I liked watching him eat. I liked watching him do nothing at all, actually.

That's when I thought about my favourite thing to watch him do. And that's when I thought about ‘my little secret'. I chuckled to myself then, because now I had two little secrets.

Neil, Another awesome chapter. Thanks for taking the time to write this (and all your other stories as well - different, but equally good in their own way!).

You have to believe me when I tell you that I had already written the first part of that scene. The cursor was flashing, waiting for me to type, when I read your line. The balcony scene flowed out of that when you gave me permission to use it. I didn't have to insert it anywhere. That scene was simply waiting to be written.

I'm afraid I can't tell you that because I have no idea. The story, as has been said before, is writing itself. I dont have anything particular in mind. However, I suppose the story will be complete when I write: The End.

(PS - Thanks for your kind comments.)

I'll give you a hint for the near future. Several delightful new characters will be making an appearance within the next few chapters. Who knows where the story will go from there?

    Neil:

Like everyone else, I can't wait to read the next chapter. This story was already underway when I started reading. I read chapter after chapter till 4AM one morning. I love the love in your story. I feel terribly inadequate with the words I have to express my enjoyment of your work.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

    Re: Watching Brad

    WATCHING BRAD
    Part XXIII

By the following weekend, the hot tub was installed on the wooden patio deck and the fencing for the swimming pool had been started. The holes had been dug on Friday and filled with concrete and poles. The team would return on Monday to erect the fencing itself after the concrete has set. The pool had been a surprise for Lindsay. She didn't know about it until she helped Brad and me set it up Thursday night. It wasn't anything fancy, really. Round, about five and a half metres wide, just over a metre deep. But it was blue and it was pretty and it would keep us cool and it would keep Lindsay happy.

Early Saturday morning, Brad, Lindsay, and I, headed out for Canadian Tire to buy an early birthday gift for Lindsay. Her birthday wasn't until Tuesday and Bernice was planning a surprise party for her, but I thought it would be fun to let her enjoy her present at least one present while I was home for the weekend.

I took Lindsay to the bicycles and let her pick out the one she wanted. She chose a neon-pink bicycle with fat tires and multi-coloured plastic streamers hanging out of the white, rubber handlebars. There was a bell attached that she could ring with a push of her thumb, and lights were on both the front and back. I found a pink helmet to match, and even pink elbow and knee pads.

"Aw, Daddy," she said. "I'm grown up now. I don't need all that stuff."

"Yes, you do, Sweetheart," I told her, "and if I see you riding this bike without it, the bike goes into the basement for a month."

    She looked up at Brad.

    "A month, Lindsay," he repeated.

"You could at least be on my side once in awhile."

"I don't want to see you get hurt any more than your Dad does," Brad said. "If I see you riding without the pads or helmet when your Dad's not home, I'll take the bike away and put it in the basement, too." Then he added for emphasis, "For a month."

She looked at me again and I nodded my agreement. Her head dropped and she kicked at the floor. "Okay, I'll wear them. I promise."

Lindsay wasn't sad for long. When we got home, I told her that she could ride the bike only to the corners of our street and only on the sidewalk on our side of the street. If she went out of those boundaries, the bike went to the basement. She promised she wouldn't, and she knew very well that I would hold her to that promise. Then she was padded up and riding as if she were riding in a Rolls Royce.

I watched her first round and was pleased to see her stop at the corner, get off her bike, turn it around, and get back on. She rode past me as Brad changed clothes and gathered his gardening tools. She waved proudly and grinned and tinkled her bell. She turned again at the other corner and came back. When she passed me the second time, I gave her a smile and a ‘thumbs up' and went to help Brad.

She passed twice more, ringing and waving each time, and then she didn't pass us again. I went to the street and looked down the walk. She was standing beside her bike talking to a little boy I didn't recognize. "Be right back, Brad," I said and walked down to meet him.

He was a cute kid, but I'd never seen him in the neighbourhood before. I say ‘cute' because he had beautiful mulatto skin and almost blond, curly hair. He looked about the same age as Lindsay, but a bit shorter than she. Lindsay saw me coming. "Hi, Daddy," she said. "This is Tyler. He's my new friend. Can he come have dinner with us?"

That's Lindsay for you. No wonder she didn't miss her old school friends. She made new ones so easily.

"Hi, Tyler," I said as I held out my hand to shake. He took it. His reserved face broke into a timid smile. "Have you asked if you can come yet?" He shook his head ‘no'. "Where do you live?"

He turned away from me and pointed. "Down there. We're just moving in."

"Okay," I said. "Is your Father there?"

    "I don't have a Dad."

"Okay, then. Is your Mother there?"

    He shook his head ‘yes'.

    "Let's go ask her."

We approached the house and I saw the U-Haul parked in the driveway. One woman, obviously Tyler's mother, but with much darker skin, was struggling with a large sofa and it was about to end up on the asphalt. "Whoa!" I shouted and hurried to help. I grabbed the end dangling dangerously off the end of the truck. Another woman was inside the truck, holding the other end of the sofa. Man, that sofa must have come straight from the Flintstone's cave. It felt like it was made of granite.

"Sweetheart," I called over my shoulder, "go get Brad. Tell him we need his help. Hurry!"

"Okay, Daddy!" And off she went, tinkling her bell all the way. Tyler came over to stand beside the truck.

"Let's move this back onto the truck a bit." We maneuvered the sofa back onto the truck.

"Thank you, Mr. . . ." Tyler's Mother said as she held out her hand. She was a pretty woman. Her hair was just as curly as Tyler's, but black. She wore very little make-up.

"de Villiers," I said as I shook her hand. "Please, call me Ted."

"Thank you, Ted," she said. "I'm Cali, and this is my son, Tyler."

I smiled back at him. "We've met."

"And this is Mags," she said, indicating her friend, a pretty lady with short, blond hair and skin that matched tone with Lindsay's.

Mags moved around the sofa to the back of the truck. I reached up and she stretched and our hands met and shook. "Pleased to meet you, Ted." Her smile was rather shy and reserved.

I could hear Lindsay's bell ringing again. "Ah. Help's coming." She rode right across the grass with Brad trotting close behind. He'd put on his old cut-offs again and had left his T-shirt at home. "Well," I thought to myself, "there's strike one against Tyler's invitation to dinner."

"Don't ride on their lawn, Sweetheart. Ride on the sidewalk."

"Sorry, Daddy," she said and laid her bike on the ground so she could talk to Tyler.

"Brad? This is Cali and Mags," I said. "Cali? Mags? This is Brad."

Brad shook hands with both ladies.

"So, Bradley," Cali said, "you live around here, too, eh?"

"Yes," he smiled pleasantly. "Five houses down."

She looked at me. "And where do you live, Ted."

    "Um," I stammered.

"Same house," Brad said with his chipped-tooth smile. "We live together." His candor surprised me. I'm not at all certain he knew what he had just said.

There goes strike two. I glanced at Tyler. Three strikes and you're out, kid. Brad glanced at him, too.

I turned back to Cali in time to hear her say, "So, you two. . ." Her finger moved from one to the other. I glanced at Brad, who was greeting Tyler.

    "Yes," I said.

    Cali looked at Mags.

"Well," Mags said with a growing smile, "Isn't this a coincidence. Sounds like we're all going to get along just fine."

"Oh," I said. "You two, too, eh?"

"Yup," Cali said proudly. "Going on seven years." She looked at Brad, who had joined us again.

"Not even that many weeks yet."

    "Newlyweds," Mags said.

Cali looked at Brad again, her eyes zeroing in on Brad's shorts. "Well, Ted, it looks like you've scored the Super Lotto."

Brad's blush was significantly brighter in the afternoon sunlight, and I'm sure mine was, too. Cali noticed and gave Brad a kiss on the cheek. "Don't worry, Sweetie," she said, grinning. "I won the Lotto, too." She glanced at Mags and puckered her lips and made a kissing sound.

"I think we all won," Brad said. He was smiling again, but still blushing.

"Right," Cali said. She reached out and grabbed Brad's biceps. "Well, Bradley. Do you use these things only to hug your boyfriend or do you think they'll pick up this whale?" She pointed to the sofa.

"I think I can handle it," Brad said. "You know? I think I'm going to like you."

"Oh, Honey," she replied. "I already know I'm going to like you! Now get that pretty little bum of yours in that truck and do something besides looking pretty for Ted. And don't turn around too fast. Give Mags a chance to get out of the way."

Brad hopped up into the truck and moved to the end of the sofa. I moved to join Cali at the back of the truck.

"Tyler, Honey, could you open the door for us, please?" Tyler ran off to open the door with Lindsay right behind him.

The four of us had the truck unloaded in a matter of minutes. Most of the things were large furniture items, including two beds and mattresses.

"Thank you, boys," Cali said. "You've been a great help."

"Our pleasure," I said. "Is there more to come?"

"At least two more loads, I think," Mags said.

    "We can help," Brad offered.

Cali pinched his cheek, her shiny, pastel-purple nail polish reflecting off Brad's perspiration. "You're a sweetie, Bradley," she said, "but those shorts will gather tourists, and we need the room to move around." She let go of his cheek and planted a kiss there instead. She looked down at his crotch again. "Besides, you'd have to load that thing in the back of the truck, and we need to put our junk there."

Brad blushed and smiled again. It was going to be one of those days. Still, it surprised me that he was taking all that attention so well.

"We have help loading it," Mags explained, "but, if you could help us unload it, we could move it all today instead of having to do it tomorrow morning."

"We'll be here," I told her. "We'll be out front, working on the yard. Just send Tyler down to get us. Oh! I almost forgot. Lindsay invited Tyler for dinner. Would you like to join us as well? I'm sure you won't feel like cooking after moving all day."

"We were going to pick up some pizza or something," Cali said.

    "Do you like Chinese?"

    "We all do," Mags said.

"Then I'll order Chinese when you're ready."

"Mags, how much money do you have, Babe?"

Mags reached into her pocket and pulled out a small wad of bills.

"That's okay," I said. "My treat."

Cali reached out for the twenty dollar bill. "Teddy, you're a sweetie, too. The help is appreciated, but the food we pay for." She added her own thirty dollars to it. "That should be enough for all of us."

I held up my hands to show her I wouldn't take her money. She started to reach for my shirt pocket, stopped, then stuffed the bill deeply into Brad's front pocket.

"You know?" she said. "That's the closest I'll ever come to climbing K-2."

We all laughed, and I had a feeling we were going to become good friends.

    * * * * *

We were tired, but we weren't hungry anymore. Dinner was delicious and now we sat around the kitchen table, relaxing with coffee and some of Bernice's home-made cookies. The kids were in the livingroom playing Nintendo.

Brad had pulled on a T-shirt.

Cali and Mags turned out to be as delightful as we first thought, and they were eternally grateful that we had been there to help them move. All their belongings were now in their new house. All they had to do was to take the U-Haul back in the morning. Brad and I had even taken the time to set up their beds for them as the ladies tracked down the bedding.

It was almost eight o'clock when Brad got up to go to the bathroom. He came back a moment later. "Ted? Ladies?" he said quietly, wiggling his finger for us to follow him. He had a gentle smile on his face. We followed him to the livingroom. Lindsay was sound asleep on Tyler's shoulder, and Tyler was sound asleep as well, his head resting against Lindsay's. The game was still flashing ‘Game Over', and they still held the paddles in their hands.

Cali placed her fingers over her lips as she looked at them. "Oh, I wish I knew where my camera was."

"We have one," Brad said, and headed off to get it. He came back a moment later and took several pictures from different angles. "I'll print these off and give you a copy."

He got another peck on the cheek from Cali and a peck on the other cheek from Mags.

We let the kids sleep and went back to our coffees while Brad continued to the bathroom. When he returned, Cali mentioned, "I'm surprised you can't reach the toilet from here."

It certainly was Brad's day for blushing.

Cali put her hand on Brad's arm. "You know I'm joshing you, don't you?" she asked. She had such a gentle look about her, and her voice danced in the room. I liked her.

    Brad grinned and nodded.

Cali sat back in her chair. "So, Bradley, does it have its own bed or does it sleep with you?"

Like I said. It was Brad's day for blushing.

    * * * * *

Lindsay was asleep in bed now. She'd awakened only long enough to say ‘bye' to Tyler and to go to the bathroom. She was sound asleep again as I changed her for bed. Later, Brad and I sat together in the tub, having a long, hot, relaxing soak after a rather grueling day.

"I hope no-one else moves into the neighbourhood soon," I said, squeezing out a washcloth of water over my head. "I hate moving."

"I'm glad Cali and Mags did, though," Brad said. "I like them."

"Well, Cali really likes you. I'm surprised you didn't get upset with all her attention to your manly prowess."

Brad showed me his chipped tooth again. "I didn't really mind that. She's pretty funny. It was a lot better than having her drooling all over me."

    "I drool all over you."

"I don't mind your drool," he said. "At least you're doing something with it besides making my shorts soggy."

    "She calls you ‘Bradley'."

Brad shrugged. "Yeah, well," he said. "If she wants to call me Bradley. . ."

Now, tell me. How could you not fall in love with a boy like that?

We were quiet for awhile, just letting the heat soak itself into our tired and sore muscles. At least mine were. Brad never said anything. He had worked twice as hard as me, so he should have been at least half as sore. I couldn't wait for that hot tub.

"Did you see Tyler?" Brad asked. "He was scared to death when I first met him, and then he seemed to calm right down."

    "He was just shy."

"No, Ted," Brad continued. "It was more than that. He watched us. I mean, he watched you. And he stayed right beside Lindsay all the time at first."

    "They're friends, Brad."

"I know. But didn't you see his eyes?"

"No. I didn't pay any attention."

"He was watching you, especially when you were talking to Cali. There was something in his eyes."

I waited as Brad tilted his head down as if trying to figure out what it had been that he had seen. "I think, if I had to put a name to it, I think it would be ‘hope'."

I can't remember seeing anything except a quiet, shy little boy a bit shorter than Lindsay.

"And then it changed to ‘relief'."

I shook my head. "Sorry, Brad, you're going to have to draw me another map."

Brad sat up and moved toward me in the tub. He took my hands in his and his eyes locked on mine. "Don't you see, Ted? He was afraid you would take Lindsay away from him when you found out his mother was a lesbian."

    "Why would I do that?"

"Because it's happened before. Not with Lindsay, but with other children. As soon as their parents found out, they took their children away from him. That's what he was hoping you wouldn't do. And he was so relieved that you didn't."

I looked away and down. I sank myself into the tub, as deep in thought as I was in the water. "Gee-sus, Murphy," I said. I looked back up and into Brad's handsome face. My eyes sought the sparkling green I knew I would find there. "That's what happened with Wendy."

Brad nodded. "You have to be ready for that, Ted." He paused. "We have to be ready."

I dropped my head again. "How do you explain something like that to a child?"

"Lindsay's a smart kid, Ted," Brad said. "Don't underestimate her. She may not understand what's going on, but she'll figure it out. Kids are going to say things to her about it. That's one of the reasons I went away. I didn't know if I could put her through that."

My eyes shot up to his again. "But you came back."

"Yes," Brad said quietly, "because I knew that, if I didn't, you'd find someone to take my place, and I couldn't be certain he would love Lindsay as much as I do. He might not be able to help you the way I can."

"How do you know it would be another ‘he'." It was dumb, I know.

"You can't tell me that you would be out looking for another woman, another wife, if I didn't come back. Not now. You'd be looking for another man."

I thought back on that boy in the rollerblades, standing in front of the store the other day. Brad was right. If he hadn't come back to me, I would have got over him eventually and set out to find someone else. And it would have been a man. Someone like the boy with the rollerblades.

"What am I going to do, Brad?"

"You'll deal with it, Ted," he said with his chipped-tooth smile. "And I'll be right there beside you to help you. That's why I came back. I think I could have left you, but I couldn't leave Lindsay, too."

I slid forward in the tub and captured Brad in my arms and I kissed that chipped-tooth smile.

"I love you so much, Brad."

"And I love you, too, Ted." He smiled at me again. "We can do this. Somehow, we have to find a way to do this."

I was pretty sure we could.

    * * * * *

Brad rolled up against me as we lay in bed later. I was too tired to do anything else other than lay there. His cock pressed up against my hip. It wasn't hard, but it was full.

I pressed my hip against him. "Tomorrow," I said, "we'll go out and buy another bed for that thing."

He rolled away from me and, the next thing I knew, a pillow was flying at my face.

I'm glad you were cooking. I'd hate to see what you would have come up with if you were changing the oil in your car.

    Then again. . .

    Re: Watching Brad

    WATCHING BRAD
    Part XXIV

I was preparing breakfast in the morning when the doorbell rang. Lindsay was too busy watching Sunday morning cartoons to bother, and Brad was still in the shower, so Dear Old Dad had the pleasure of answering it.

"Hi, Mags," I said as I pulled open the door and saw her standing there.

"Sorry to bother you, Ted," she said, "but do you have some coffee and milk and sugar we could borrow until we can get to the store?"

"Does Cali have a cell phone?"

    "Yes."

I pulled mine out of my pocket and handed it to her. "Call her and tell her to get over here. Coffee's on already."

"Oh, I can't do that," she said.

"Sure you can," I told her. "You just push this button to turn it on and push these ones to. . ."

Mags laughed. "I know how," she said. "I just don't want to impose."

"No imposition," I said. "Has Tyler eaten yet?"

"No. We don't have milk for his cereal."

My raised eyebrows and my smile gave her my answer. "Call them."

Mags began dialing, then raised the phone to her ear. A moment later, she said, "Hi, Cal. I'm here with. . . Oh, my!" She quickly turned away and hung her head. Her cheeks turned a bright, rosey pink. "Nothing, Cal. It's just that Brad's here now and all he has on is a towel."

I looked around and there he was, wrapped in a towel that was tenting out with what was left of his morning hardon. He was rubbing his hair dry with another towel. I kissed him and said, "As ravishing as you look, I think you should get changed. We're expecting company for breakfast."

Brad looked down. "Oh!" He lowered his other towel and covered himself. "I. . . um. . . I think. . ."

I winked at him. "Put on something nice for Cali."

First blush of the day, but it was just a shading of pink this time. He disappeared around the corner, heading for the bedroom.

"Okay," Mags was saying when I turned back to her. "I'll wait here then. Bye, Sweetie."

She hung up and handed the phone back to me. She turned slowly at first, then more quickly when she saw that Brad wasn't standing there anymore.

    "Come on in," I said.

    "He's very. . . um. . . rather big, isn't he?" Mags whispered. I loved her timidity.

I gave her my best understanding smile. "We're used to it around here."

"I'm sorry if I embarrassed him," she said. "It's going to take me awhile to get used to him."

"Don't worry, Mags," I told her. I hoped my smile was reassuring. "He's very gentle."

Mags snatched onto my wrist, pulling me closer. "Is that really him in there?" she whispered.

    "Yes."

"Oh, I must apologize to him. I shouldn't be embarrassing him like that." If Mags ever did apologize to Brad, he never told me, and I didn't ask.

"Trust me, Mags. He's just as afraid of embarrassing you. Now, come on." I led her to the kitchen. "Eggs and bacon for everyone?"

"Tyler likes cereal, if you have any."

"Lots," I told her. I opened the pantry door. "Take your pick," I said. I dug out another frying pan, set it on the stove, and cracked open a few more eggs.

Mags set a box of cereal on the counter. "Bowls are there," I said, pointing. "Could you prepare two? Brown sugar is up here and white is on the table. Lindsay likes brown with that."

"Tyler likes brown sugar, too. Do you have any cinnamon?"

Again, I pointed. Lindsay liked cinnamon. "I've never thought of using cinnamon. Is it good?"

"It's delicious," Mags said as she retrieved the cinnamon from the spice rack. "Not much. Just a sprinkling."

"Could you sprinkle a bit on Lindsay's, too? I think she might like it."

Mags replied, "I'm sure she will.

Brad arrived in time to greet Cali and Tyler at the front door. "Lindsay! Tyler's here!"

"I'm watching cartoons, Ty!" Lindsay shouted. I could hear his running footsteps heading for the livingroom.

Brad and Cali appeared in the kitchen.

"Brad?" I said, "Could you set up TV trays for the kids?" Mags was almost finished preparing the cereal.

"Hi, Teddy," Cali said, stepping up beside me and planting a big one on my cheek. "I hear your boyfriend's trying to seduce my girlfriend with his manly wiles."

I had to grin at her. "Well, he does stand out in a crowd."

"Yeah," Cali said. "From here to Scarborough!"

"Cal!" Mags said, shaking her head, "you're incorrigible!"

"Forget her," Cali said with a nod to Mags. "She doesn't know how to have fun. I do love to tease that boy, though," she said with a wink.

"If he didn't like you so much, he wouldn't come out of the bedroom."

"If I were you, I'm not sure I'd come out, either."

    "Cal!"

"Oh, come on, Mags," Cali said with a grin. "Lighten up! Just because I like the perfume doesn't mean I want to squirt it all over me!"

"All set up," Brad said as he came back into the kitchen.

    "Cereal's there," I told him.

    "I'll take it," Mags said.

"Toast is ready, too. What does Tyler like on his toast?"

"I'll get it for them," Cali said, and grabbed two slices and went to the table to spread them with raspberry jam.

"Lindsay likes marmalade," I told her.

"I'll get the coffee then," Brad said with a shrug.

Minutes later, the kids were busy eating their cereal and toast and watching TV. We grown-ups were sitting around the small, kitchen table, eating our bacon and eggs.

"So," I said, "how's the move going?"

"Not bad," Cali said, "but Tyler's not handling it too well. Nothing's unpacked or set up yet. He doesn't have anything to do."

"He can stay here," I told her. "Lindsay can keep him occupied, I'm sure."

"You're a Sweetie, Teddy, but you've done enough already."

"And we can do more," Brad said. "We'll watch him for the day. Let you ladies get your house in order."

Cali looked at me. "Where did you find this boy, Teddy?"

"Next door, actually," I said. "He was my neighbour before he moved in with Lindsay and me."

Cali sat back in her chair and turned to Brad. "You don't look old enough to own a house."

"It's my parent's place. I was still living there."

"Really?" She seemed genuinely surprised. "And they're okay with the two of you?"

    "Yeah," Brad answered. "Why not?"

Mags spoke. She sounded rather sad. "My parents haven't spoken to me in over ten years. They don't even know where I live now."

Cali reached out and clutched Mags' hand. "Enough of this moribund crap," she said. "The way they treated you, they don't even deserve to have you for a daughter. Besides, you've got me now to take care of you." She leaned forward to give Mags a reassuring kiss.

Brad glanced quickly at me and I could see in his eyes that he suddenly realized how lucky he had been that his parents were so understanding and loving. I grabbed his hand and squeezed it.

Cali turned again to Brad. "So, Bradley, how much does it cost to feed that thing each week?"

Cali certainly knew how to lighten a mood.

"Hey," I said as the laughter died down. I motioned the others forward into a huddle. "We're having a surprise birthday party on Tuesday for Lindsay," I whispered. "Would you like to come?"

"Oh, Teddy, we'd love to come. What should we buy her?"

    "Anything with unicorns or faeries."

"There's enough fairies around here, and Bradley's got enough between his legs to make up ten more." We all laughed again. "We'll stick with unicorns." She turned to Brad. "Speaking of horny things, Bradley, how long does it take to raise the flag on that thing in the morning?"

I wasn't even awake yet and my stomach was hurting. Mags was still wiping tears of laughter from her eyes, her face bright red with embarrassment. Brad just hung his head and shook it back and forth.

Cali looked at me and jerked her head toward Mags. "And you thought Bradley had a monopoly on blushing."

I glanced at Mags and jerked my head toward Cali. "Is she always like this?"

"Pretty much," Mags said, still laughing to herself. "But only with people she likes."

Cali picked up a slice of bacon in her fingers and began munching on it. "So, Teddy," she said, "You didn't tell us. How did you and Bradley meet? Mind you, you probably met his shorts twenty minutes before the rest of him got there."

More laughing and a few more blushes. There weren't going to be many unhappy moments with Cali around.

"Just like I met you, really," I answered her. "I was moving in a few weeks ago and my friend bombed out on me. It was the weekend of that big storm, remember? I was trying to get my furniture off the truck before it rained and Brad jumped in and helped."

"Just a few weeks ago?" Cali asked. "Love at first sight."

"Hardly," Brad said. "Neither of us even knew we liked men yet. At least not until we got to know each other. We just met and became friends and then we kind of fell in love with each other."

"Oh, that's so romantic," Mags said. "I love a good love story like that."

"It happens," Cali said. "Like Mags and me. I married her brother and had Tyler, and then fell in love with her. I'd spent my whole life hiding from myself."

Now I knew why I liked Cali so much. Kindred spirits.

"I knew I was a lesbian," Mags said shyly. "I was just afraid."

"I still am," Brad added, the same hint of shyness in his voice.

Cali placed a comforting hand on Brad's arm. "Trust me, Bradley, you won't stay afraid very long. This is the best kind of happy you can feel."

The room became eerily silent, broken only by the laughter of the kids in the livingroom. Breakfast was finished. Cali took her hand back and rose to her feet. "Well, Honey," she said to Mags, "we've got a pile of work to do. Best get at it."

The rest of us stood as well. "Don't worry about Tyler," I told Cali. "We'll take good care of him."

"I know you will, Teddy." Cali was the kissiest person I've ever met, but this time, I got a big hug out of it as well.

Brad got the same treatment plus a pinch on the cheek to boot. "You know I'm just teasing you, Sweetie."

    Brad smiled. "Yeah, I know."

"That's good," Cali said. She started to leave and turned back. "Oh, by the way, Bradley, until I get my clothes line up, could you just stand in your front yard, point it my way, and think of Ted?"

They were probably half-way home before Brad and I stopped laughing.

    * * * * *

It was just after lunch that Warren phoned. Brad and I were out digging up our yard when Lindsay called at us from the door. I kicked off my shoes outside and headed for the phone.

    "Hi, Warren."

"Hey, Teddy," he said with welcomed cheerfulness. "Doc says I'm a stone's throw from the edge of the woods. C'est bon, n'est pas?"

"Wonderful news, Warren," I said. I'm sure he could hear the relieved grin in my voice.

"I'm here, too, Ted," Bill said.

"Hi, Bill," I said. "Warren keeping you busy?"

"Not me," Bill quipped, "but he keeps the night nurse on his toes."

"He looks just like Chris O'Donnell and he smells like vanilla custard."

"With a cherry on top?" I asked jokingly.

    "Whipped cream," Bill joked back.

Anxious to change the subject - my stomach still hurt from Cali's visit - I asked, "Any idea when you can go home?"

"Not for awhile yet, Teddy. Doc wants to keep me here until I can lose another five kilos."

"Well, just keep doing what you're supposed to be doing, pal," I said. "I expect you to be sitting in the front row when my little girl walks down the aisle."

"You can count on that one, Teddy. Life is good, and I almost convinced myself to die. This boy is going to be around for a long time yet."

"I hope so," I told him honestly.

"Speaking of Lindsay," Bill interrupted, "how's she holding up?"

"Great," I said. "She's sitting here playing Nintendo. I've got her back into dance class. I didn't know Connie hasn't been taking her for the past two months."

"Oh, Teddy, why didn't she tell you?"

"Because," Bill jumped in, knowing instinctively that it would be difficult for me to talk freely. "Connie probably told her she'd get a spanking if she did. Am I right, Ted?"

"More than that, Bill. A lot more."

"That you wouldn't love her if she told you." He knew Connie too well.

    "Yup."

"I'm so sorry, Ted. I can read people, but I never saw that in her," Warren said. "She fooled a lot of people. And what she did to Lindsay. . ."

"She excelled at that," I said, "but it's all over now."

    "Lindsay's doing okay now?"

"Just great. She's playing Nintendo with a neighbour boy who moved in a few houses down the street. We're keeping him busy so Cali and Mags can unpack and do some shopping and stuff."

"Oooo," Warren exclaimed in his favourite ‘interesting' voice. "Cali sounds cute!"

    "He's a she, Warren."

"Oh," he said, disappointed. Then, "Oh!"

"Yeah," I said. "They were here for dinner last night and breakfast this morning. They're great people. You'd like Cali. She teases Brad better than you do."

    "My kind of gal!"

    "How is Brad?" Bill asked.

"Great. He's outside now digging up our front yard. He's doing some landscaping."

"You mean ‘our' as in ‘you and Lindsay and Basket Boy?" That was Warren.

"Yes, Warren. This is our house now."

I heard a sigh, and then Warren became the ‘serious' Warren. "Please tell me you're happy, Ted. I want so much for you to be happy."

"I'm very happy, Warren. And Brad's very happy, too."

"Then I'm happy for you, Ted. You deserve it after all this time."

"No, I don't, Warren. I have Lindsay now, and I have Brad, too. No-one deserves this much happiness."

Bill's voice cut in. "Many people don't have any, Ted. You spent twelve years trying to find it with Connie, and she almost took what little you had away from you. Enjoy it now. You're not being selfish."

Warren spoke up again. "Like I said, Teddy, you deserve it. I've got the doctor here now, waiting to shove something else up my ass, so I have to go. You take care of that family, you hear me?"

"I will, Warren. Thanks," I said. "Love you both."

    Lindsay shouted, "Bye!"

"We love you, too, Teddy, and say ‘bye' to Lindsay for us."

"I will. See you later, eh?"

    "Bye."

And it was done. Warren was almost out of the woods and I prayed he'd make it the rest of the way. I had a feeling, though, that he would. Warren was too stubborn to die now, especially since he'd come so far.

"I'm going back out to help Brad. Do you two need anything?"

Lindsay paused the game. "Could you make another sandwich, Daddy?"

    "But you just had lunch."

    "I know but Ty. . . I mean, I'm still hungry."

I smiled at her cleverness. "Sure, Sweetheart. What kind of sandwich do you want?"

She glanced at Tyler and he whispered in her ear, "Peanut butter and banana."

Lindsay looked up at me again. "Peanut butter and banana. And could you make one with jam instead of banana? I'm really hungry, Daddy."

I kissed her forehead. "Sure." For good measure, I kissed Tyler's forehead, too. But Lindsay got the biggest one.

A few minutes later, I set one plate on the coffee table with two different sandwiches on it. But there were two glasses of cold milk.

    * * * * *

Cali arrived later that afternoon to pick up Tyler. He didn't want to go, but finally relented when I promised him he could come over and sleep on air mattresses on the floor some night. We cleaned up the tools, then got cleaned up and dressed. I took everyone out to Burger King for supper. I drove through Tim Horton's on the way home and bought a box of Timbits and a half dozen apple fritters. We hadn't had any in a long time, and I figured all that digging had worn off at least a pinch of my Timbit tummy. I deserved the treat.

With my help, the yard was almost ready for Brad's landscaping. The rest would be up to him, and he'd get on it first thing in the morning.

Lindsay was in bed and sound asleep by eight-thirty. By nine, Brad and I were sitting naked in the hot tub for the very first time. Man, it was better than I could have imagined, and I didn't begrudge a single penny of the privacy fence.

Brad sat opposite me, leaning into the corner. His feet were playing with mine and our toes danced to the music of the bubbling water. He just sat there, his arms spread out on the rim of the tub, staring at me for the longest time.

"You are so beautiful, Ted de Villiers."

I bowed my head in mock humility. "Aw, shucks. I bet you say that to all the guys." But, when I looked back into Brad's face, it was nothing but sincere.

"No, I don't." He stood up and moved toward me, his hardon pointing the way. He stopped when he was standing in front of me. "When I look at you, and when I think about what a wonderful man you are, this happens to me."

He bent at the waist and his lips found mine. It was a savage kiss this time, full of the passion we both felt for each other. It was loud and it was noisy and it was beautiful. We explored each other like never before, and we did it with the ferocity of two hurricanes coming together. I found myself moaning into Brad's mouth, and his own grunts of excitement blended with mine, echoing back and forth between us. I sucked desperate breaths of air through my nostrils as I pulled his face closer to mine.

I finally pushed him away. I needed him, and I was going to take him. My hands grabbed his hips and pulled him forward and into me. It was getting easier each time, and the head of his cock soon found itself lodged inside my mouth. One hand wrapped itself around his shaft, the other tickled his balls from underneath. I sucked his cock and I teased it. My tongue traced him and dug into the tiny slit at the tip. His hands found my shoulders and Brad held on. My jaws strained, but I was getting used to his size and there very little pain anymore.

Within a few minutes, the swelling began, and I prepared myself for his release. It came with all the power and strength his youth could give me, and I was greedy in accepting it. I could hear his groans of pleasure above me, and I was sure our neighbours could hear him as well. I didn't care. His happiness was the only thing that mattered.

When it was over, I held his cock in my mouth until it softened and Brad had caught his breath. And then he pushed me away, wrapped one arm around my back and hooked the other under my legs, and he picked me up. He stepped out of the hot tub without even a swagger and flipped the switch to ‘off' with his toe.

He carried me to the back door. I slid it open and he stepped through. I slid the door closed again and locked it. We were dripping on the carpet, but I didn't care. Brad carried me around as I locked the front door and turned off the lights, and then he took me into the bedroom. I closed the door and he took me to the bed and laid me on it. I could feel the sheets absorbing the moisture from my body. I flipped on the table lamp beside me.

Brad released me then and climbed onto the bed between my legs, pushing them apart with his knees. He bent forward and captured my cock in his gentle fingers and his lips joined them a moment later.

He sucked me to my own orgasm and he accepted it as I had accepted his. With a happy smile on his face, he lay down beside me and kissed me. My hand found the lamp and I turned off the light. Our lips were still pressed together when I fell asleep.

They don't show this stuff on TV. Too bad because it would be more interesting than what is on. Good job.

    WATCHING BRAD
    Part XXV

Lindsay's surprise birthday went off without a hitch on Tuesday evening. I'd promised to take her out to Burger King for supper and she'd get her presents when we got home. Grandma and Grandpa were invited, too, but, when they didn't turn up at the prescribed hour, I gathered Lindsay up in my arms and said we'd go get them. I wore long pants and a nice, short-sleeved shirt. Brad was dressed in white again. Lindsay wore her favourite yellow dress. It was the colour of a Post-it note.

Bernice answered the door and led us into her livingroom to wait.

    "Surprise!!"

Everyone, including myself and Brad, yelled it at the same time. I set Lindsay down and she ran to greet everyone. The livingroom was decorated with all sorts of pink streamers and bangles and sparkly faeries. ‘Happy Birthday Lindsay' was strung out along the ceiling on a long banner which stretched almost from wall to wall.

Cali, Mags, and Tyler were already there, along with Bernice and John and two of Lindsay's neighbourhood friends. Terry was there, of course, and one other little girl showed up later.

Bernice had happily provided a buffet dinner, but only after I had insisted on paying my share. She'd also baked and decorated a rectangular, two-layer birthday cake, the top layer being a basic white mix and the bottom layer being chocolate-fudge. The frosting was white and decorated with pink frosting ropes and blue and yellow flowers. ‘Happy Birthday Lindsay' was double-iced in pink and pale blue. Ten candles were set in a rainbow shape above her name.

Lindsay even received a special surprise phone call from Uncle Warren and Uncle Bill early in the evening.

The party continued until eight o'clock. Lindsay, Brad, and I stayed around for awhile after everyone had left. Lindsay sat on my lap and we shared one more piece of her birthday cake. I ate the white part. She ate the chocolate-fudge.

Later, I carried Lindsay home. Brad carried all her gifts. Cali had seen Brad on Tuesday afternoon and asked secretly if Lindsay wore pyjamas or nightgowns. She and Mags bought two gowns - one with unicorns and one with faeries. Tyler gave her a baseball game for the Nintendo system. Lindsay didn't like baseball. I suspect he bought it for her so he could play it himself. Terry gave her a canvas bag full of plastic canvas materials, small balls of coloured yarn, and a small, mother-of-pearl case to hold her all the needles and scissors and things. One little girl gave her a book, another gave her a CD, and the little girl who came late gave her a Disney DVD. Bernice and John gave her two bicycle-riding outfits. Brad and I gave her a charm bracelet with her name engraved on it and several unicorn and faeirie charms dangling from it. The rest of her gifts were waiting for her at home.

There was no end to the hugs and kisses I got from her that night. Brad didn't get quite as many, but he enjoyed every single one of them.

Lindsay's pool was up and filled by now, but still needed a day or two in order to warm up enough to use it. I couldn't wait to see Brad in that Speedo. As silly as it sounds, as many times as I had seen him naked, I still wanted to see him in that suit. There was something about it. . .

For the third night in a row, I joined Brad in the hot tub after Lindsay had gone to sleep. We talked and sipped our beers. Brad had discovered the night before that we could both sit on one of the corner seats if we sat really close together and held onto each other.

    I quite enjoyed that part.

Lindsay's bedtime became our ‘together' time, and we looked forward to it all day long. We didn't always have sex. We didn't really want it all the time. Sometimes we'd just sit on the sofa and neck like a couple of teenagers. Occasionally, we'd get carried away and things would happen spontaneously, but we were always careful to make sure Lindsay was still asleep.

Thursday night, Brad sat on the deck, his feet dangling in the water. He jerked off for me and I watched. I loved Brad's blowjobs, and I loved the ones I gave to him, but I still loved watching him do what he did best. I could watch him jerk off for hours. When he finished, when I'd taken his load into me, he gave me my blowjob. Not a single drop of cum landed in the water. Recycling at its best.

    * * * * *

By the weekend, my skills at giving Brad head had improved significantly. I was quite used to his size now and my jaws rarely bothered me anymore. I could take more of the shaft in as well, all the way to the head poking at the entrance to my throat. My next challenge was to conquer the gag reflex. I was determined to give Brad the blowjob he so rightly deserved. He'd become so adept at pleasing me and could handle me with no problem. I could only hope that I could return the favour one day and give Brad a real blowjob.

And when it happened, it surprised both of us.

Saturday morning, we paid a visit to Warren in the hospital. He was out of intensive care, but they weren't going to allow Lindsay in to see him until she told the receiving nurse that she had to get her birthday kiss from her uncle. She let Lindsay in as long as I held her.

Of course, she got more than one birthday kiss, and even a few from Uncle Bill. He spent his nights and weekends with Warren. Warren looked good, but thinner and more gaunt. But, he was all smiles and twinkle-eyed.

"A half a kilo to go, Teddy!" he said happily. "Five hundred and sixteen grams and I'm home!"

"What's that mean, Daddy," Lindsay asked.

"It means, Sweetheart, that Uncle Warren has to lose a bit more weight before he can go home."

"It's not coming back, either, Teddy," Warren added. "Bill's gone through the kitchen and gave all the wrong foods to the Food Bank. At least the things they could take. But, we saved something for you, Lindsay."

"What is it?" Her hair bounced when she did. I had set her down when an attending nurse told me I didn't have to hold her all the time.

Bill held up two plastic shopping bags full of snack treats: potato chips of three different flavours, nachos, corn chips, cheese sticks, and a sizeable assortment of candy bars, Gummi bears and gummi worms, marshmallow bananas, and stuff like that. I allowed Lindsay to have a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (crunchy) and a handful of Pringles.

"If you ever see me eating junk like that again, Teddy, shoot me, please. I don't ever want to go through this again."

Bill looked up at us and grinned. "He's not talking about the surgery. They shaved his chest."

    "Ouch!" I exclaimed. "How much?"

"All of it," Warren complained. "Right from my nose to my ahems! What do my ahems have to do with my heart?"

"What are ahems, Daddy," Lindsay asked from her chair. She licked some Reese's from her lips.

"Daddy bumps, Sweetheart," I told her.

"Oh," and the she pulled her shoulders up high and tittered.

Warren held my hand most of the time we were there. I could feel the relief he felt right through his fingers and into mine. He was a good boy, too, and only stared at Brad's crotch for half the time we were there. He didn't comment, though. Warren would never do that with Lindsay in the room.

We stayed only an hour, then I drove to the Science Centre. Brad held Lindsay's hand and I tagged along as she pulled him from exhibit to exhibit. They sat at the Morse Code tables and sent messages back and forth to each other for almost a half hour.

Lindsay wanted to do the Van de Graaff thing - you know, that big ball that sends your hair straight out - but she was still too young. The demonstrator chose Brad instead. I didn't think he'd get up in front of that crowd, but he did. I have to tell you, I took a picture of him. It's precious. With his hair short on top and long at the sides and back, he looked like Krusty the Klown with brown hair instead of red.

"Did you know that all your hair stands up with that thing?" he whispered to me after he stepped off the platform rubbing his bare arms. "I'm still tingling.

That's my favourite picture of him. Well, at least the favourite picture of him that's in my photo albums which we can show to visitors. We have our own personal album tucked away in our bedroom. No-one but us sees that one. Well, not everyone. I might tell you about that later on, but I'm not making any promises.

Lindsay slept most of the way home. I stopped off at KFC and bought dinner for us. I was too darned tired to cook and Brad said he was still tingling from the Van de Graaff machine. I think he was just being lazy. There was a note on our door when we got home. "You weren't here. We were. Better luck next time. Cali."

We ate in the livingroom that night as we watched Lindsay's new Disney DVD. . . again. I didn't mind it too much. At least it made me giggle, and there was something about that ogre with the funny accent. I met Mike Myers once. For real. Not that you care, and I didn't really care then, either. He was just becoming famous. We peed in side-by-side urinals at a restaurant in Scarborough. I didn't even know who he was until later when someone mentioned it at the table behind me. And ‘no', I didn't look. Well, just a quick peek. He deserved a bow of respect.

Lindsay went to bed not long after dinner. Brad cleaned up and I gave her a bath, sitting with her and talked to her as she bathed. Only one more bath tomorrow before her cast would come off on Monday. At least that's what we hoped.

"Do you still love me, Daddy?"

    "Of course I do, Sweetheart."

"How much do you love me?"

I spread my arms wide. "This much and a whole lot more."

"Is that enough to buy me a horn for my bike? You know, the shiny ones with the rubber ball you squeeze?"

"It's wa-a-a-a-ay more than enough, Sweetheart," I said as I kissed her forehead. "We'll go to Canadian Tire first thing in the morning."

I washed her hair. She liked when I did that for her, especially when I poured the rinse water over her head. I patted her dry with a big, white, fluffy bath towel and wrapped it around her as I carried her to her bedroom. I sat on her bed as I pulled on her panties.

"You've been a really good girl, Sweetheart," I said proudly. "You haven't forgot once and came into the bedroom."

"I try, Daddy," she said. "I really try."

"I know you do, Sweetheart." I pulled her nightgown over her head and made her look pretty. "But if you forget, don't be afraid, okay? Just remember. I won't yell at you or spank you or get mad or anything. I promise my best promise."

Lindsay fell silent and looked down at the floor. A sad look came over her face.

"Sweetheart?" I asked as I put my hands on her tiny arms. "What's wrong?"

She looked up, but not all the way. "You promise not to get mad?"

"I already gave you my best promise," I reminded her. "I won't get mad."

She was silent again, and, when she spoke again, it was little more than a whisper. "I saw you and Brad one night."

I shoved the panic deep inside me and prayed that my hands didn't shake. "Where did you see us, Sweetheart?"

"In the livingroom," she said softly. "I had to go pee and I heard you talking. I went to see you so I could say goodnight to you and Brad was biting your thing." She looked up at me and met my eyes. I hoped she didn't know that she was looking at unadulterated terror. "Are you mad at me, Daddy?"

I grabbed her up in my arms and hugged her. "Oh, no, Sweetheart. I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at myself for letting you see that. I love you, Sweetheart." And then I called out, "Brad!! I need you!!"

His voice came from down the hall. "Okay!! Be there in a minute!!"

    "No, Brad!! Now!!"

I could hear his footsteps coming down the hall, and then he was standing in the doorway, wiping his hands with a couple of paper towels. "What's up?"

"She saw us, Brad," I said quietly.

"Oh, God." I saw in his face what Lindsay must have seen in mine.

"Come on," I told him. "Sit down."

Brad hesitated, then sat slowly on the bed beside me as I picked Lindsay up and set her in my lap so she was facing me. "I want you to listen very carefully to me, okay, Sweetheart?"

She nodded, but her face looked like it was still waiting for the spanking to come.

"Do you know what sex is, Sweetheart?"

"Sort of," she said. "The teachers talk about it at school. It's what grown-ups do together when they love each other."

    "That's right," I told her.

"But Brad was biting you, Daddy," she said, her innocent face full of concern for me. "The teachers didn't talk about biting. I thought he was hurting you."

"Brad wasn't biting me, Sweetheart. You know I love Brad, right?"

    She nodded.

"And you know Brad loves me?"

    Another nod.

"When two grown-ups love each other the way we do, they like to do things that make each other feel good. That's called ‘sex'."

    "Like Mommy and that man?"

"Yes, Sweetheart, like that. But when two men love each other, they have to do it differently. Men use their hands and their lips to make each other feel good. Brad wasn't biting me, Sweetheart. He was making me feel good. Do you understand?"

"I think so," she said, and turned thoughtful, looking down at her pillow off to my left. I let her have the time to think. She looked up at me again, and then at Brad. "Does Daddy make you happy that way, too?"

Brad stole a quick glance at me and I nodded. "Yes, he does, Lindsay."

"Sweetheart," I said, and she turned her gaze to me once again. "I'm sorry you saw that. I should have been more careful. It's all my fault."

"It's my fault, too, Lindsay," Brad said. "I'm sorry, too."

"That's okay," she said, and she kissed me. "I was afraid Brad was hurting you and I was afraid you'd be mad if I told you."

"You don't ever have to be afraid of me, Sweetheart," I told her. "We'll be more careful from now on so you don't see us."

"Is that why I can't come in your bedroom when the door is closed?"

    "Yes, it is," I said.

"I think I understand now, Daddy," she said. "As long as I know Brad's not hurting you. If I see you again, I'll know it's your privacy."

I hugged her in a great, big hug as I kissed her cheek. "I love you so much, Sweetheart."

"I love you, too, Daddy." She finished the hug herself, then reached out to Brad. He took her into his lap and she hugged him, too. "I love you, too, Brad."

"And I love you, Lindsay. I promise I won't ever hurt your father."

"Okay." And then she was back in my lap. "I think I'm ready to go to bed, Daddy."

"Okay, Sweetheart." I picked her up in one arm and pulled down her sheets. When she was tucked in and warm and safe, I sat beside her and asked, "Would you like me to read you a story?"

"No. I'm tired. I think I want to go to sleep."

"Okay, Sweetheart," I said and kissed her forehead. "Goodnight."

    "Nitey-nite, Daddy."

    I stood up.

    "Nitey-nite, Brad."

He bent down to kiss her as well. "Goodnight, Lindsay."

"We'll be in the livingroom for awhile if you want to talk some more."

I blew her one final kiss and turned out the light.

"Well, that was an adventure," I said to Brad as he sat beside me on the sofa with two opened beers in his hands. He handed me one and I wrapped my right arm around him and pulled him close to me.

"Maybe I should move back with Mom and Dad."

"No," I told him bluntly. "We're a family now. We can't hide everything from Lindsay. She knows what sex is. She's seen me and Connie before, and then her and that man. The only difference is that I didn't get mad and she didn't understand what we were doing. That's all. She still doesn't understand, but it's enough for her to know that you weren't hurting me."

    "Still. . ."

"The only way we could protect her entirely is to be celibate until she moves out, and I'm not about to give it up now when I've just discovered it. It was bound to happen, Brad, and it will probably happen again. We have to be prepared for that, and if she sees us, we can't be angry with her. The worst thing we can do is make her think that what we're doing is wrong."

Brad kissed me then. "I really didn't want to move back home."

I kissed him back. "I wouldn't have let you."

Brad stared into my eyes for a long time. The green I saw in his eyes sparkled in the lamplight. "Do you have any idea how much I love you?" he asked.

"If it's anywhere near how much I love you, then I have a pretty good idea."

"This has to be right, Ted," he said quietly. "Nothing that makes me this happy can be wrong."

We sat for a long time, saying nothing. We drank our beers as we held each other, and then we went to bed.

Lindsay got her shiny new bicycle horn the next morning, as promised.

    * * * * *

It was hot that Sunday. Twenty-eight degrees when we woke up and would top off at thirty-four by the afternoon. Cali, Mags, and Tyler eagerly accepted our invitation to inaugurate the swimming pool with us. It took me awhile, but I finally convinced Brad to wear his Speedo. Nevertheless, he pulled a pair of light blue swimming shorts over them anyway.

Lindsay was ready and I wrapped the plastic bag around her arm, maybe for the last day. I would be taking her in for X-rays tomorrow to see if the bone had healed enough for the cast to be removed.

She didn't really want to take off her cast. She was afraid she'd lose all the signatures she'd got on it. Names were all over the place now. She was okay with it when I told her the doctor would give it to her to bring home.

She answered the doorbell when it dingled, then shouted at me and Brad and herded everyone into the back yard. I unlocked the gate and helped Lindsay up the ladder. She was the first one to christen the new pool, and she did it with a cannonball which would put Greg Louganis to shame. I followed her in, then lifted Tyler over the edge. He had those blow-up water wings on his arms. He couldn't swim yet, so I held him until Cali got in to take him from me. Mags was next. Brad hesitated, then climbed the ladder in his swim shorts. He wasn't ready for the Speedo in mixed company yet.

The water wasn't very deep for the adults. I'd filled it only to the point where Lindsay and Tyler could touch bottom with their heads still above water. Still, it was a bit frightening for Tyler, especially since he couldn't swim. I hadn't known that when I invited them.

Brad took over immediately and took Tyler from Cali's arms. He held him and showed him how to move his hands in a ‘dog paddle' stroke. When Tyler had the movement down, Brad put his arms under Tyler and set him belly-down into the water. Tyler panicked at first, but quickly came to trust Brad. He moved his arms as he had been taught and, when he had the strokes down evenly, Brad told him to start kicking his feet. Tyler did, and Brad moved in a circle, allowing Tyler to feel like he was swimming. The grins on his face and his squeals of glee were precious.

A half hour later, Tyler was ‘swimming' across the five and a half metre pool, laughing and giggling and dog paddling his little heart out. Brad walked with him and I could see that he was doing little more than making contact with Tyler's body. Just enough to let Tyler know that Brad was still there. Finally, as he was walking, Brad's arms dropped slightly. In his excitement, Tyler didn't even notice - and he was swimming all by himself. Brad kept his arms under him, of course, ready in case the boy panicked. Tyler didn't, and he grabbed the edge of the pool when he reached it.

"I did it, Mom!" he screamed with delight and Cali scooped him up and smothered him with hugs and kisses. "Start me again, Mom! Watch me!" he shouted. Cali started him out and Tyler began swimming again all by himself, his mother close to his side.

Cali was beside herself with joy and gave Brad a huge hug and an even bigger kiss, right on the lips. "If you weren't a man, I think I would have a hard time not falling in love with you."

Brad was smiling back at her, and then the funniest look came over his face. "Hey," he said. "Did you know you're Black?"

Cali chuckled as she looked down at her arms. "Really? I thought I was just getting a super tan."

"Oh, Cali, I'm sorry," Brad blabbered. "I didn't mean anything by it. I mean. . . um. . . I didn't even notice until just now."

Cali just smiled, then laid her hand on his cheek. "Don't you ever change, Bradley. You're much too precious to be anyone other than who you are right now." She turned to me. "Ted? Don't ever let this boy go. You'll never find another one like him."

If there really is a cloud nine, that's where I was walking.

    * * * * *

Lindsay was asleep in bed, thank God. She was exhausted after our day in the pool and fell asleep soon after Tyler went home. I put her to bed before eight o'clock.

Brad and I had the next hour and a half in the hot tub. It was still a warm summer night, but the tub felt too good. It was our new favourite night-time spot. We'd already finished one beer and I climbed out to get another for each of us. By the time I came back out, Brad was sitting on the deck again, his cock pointing to the stars and his hand was priming it to paint the stars white.

I stepped up behind him, still standing on the patio. I set the beers on the deck and wrapped my arms around his chest from behind, staring down at his cock from over his shoulder. My own hardening cock pressed into his spine. "Mmmm," I said. "That looks good enough to eat."

I watched him stroking for awhile longer, then moved my hands to his shoulders and pulled him gently onto his back. Brad's hand left his cock and found mine. A moment later, he was tugging me forward and I slid easily into his mouth. My own hand wrapped around the base of his cock and I leaned down. I'd never sucked him from this direction before and I was surprised how much easier the head fit into my mouth.

I started sucking him deeper, and Brad moaned as he always did. His cockhead touched the entrance to my throat and I gagged slightly, but it was different this time. I can't explain it, but it was different. The gag was more mental than physical this time. The angle seemed to allow his cock to fit better, and there wasn't the pressure and anxiety I had felt before. Was that the only thing that had been stopping me?

I moved down his cock again and it pressed against my throat. I held it there, fighting back the urge to choke. It was, indeed, my mind which was telling me to do gag. My throat wasn't objecting. I stayed there for almost a minute, my tongue teasing the ridge, as Brad continued sucking me. When I felt I was ready, I closed my eyes and pushed my head down.

Brad's cockhead slipped into my throat. It filled me and stretched me, and it wasn't there very long, but I had done it, and I knew I could do it again. Brad pulled his mouth away from me and started to sit up. I pulled him out of my throat and out of my mouth. He attacked me then, scrambling to his knees on the deck and picking me up in his arms and setting me on the deck in front of him. He was crying as he smothered my face with his kisses. His tears washed my face.

We didn't cum that night. We hardly even talked. When Brad was finished crying and kissing me, he took me back into the hot tub and held me. When we went to bed, he held me some more.

He was still holding me when we woke up in the morning.

    Re: Watching Brad

I am enjoying the story... but, I think I prefer Jason's story a little better.

I think my problem is how Ted treats Lindsay... he feels compelled to treat her like an adult and tell her that when the bedroom door is closed he is having grown up time or whatever with Brad... but then, he bathes her, including putting on her panties etc.... like she is an invalid.... it just has a tinge of impropriety about it...

I can't remember my mother bathing me and dressing me when I was 10... or reading bedtime stories for that matter..

So, other than that, I enjoy the story immensely, and I complement Neil on his strytelling abilities. You are quite gifted.

    Re: Watching Brad

Ted doesn't bathe Lindsay all the time, and he takes her to the bathroom only when she is too sleepy to do it herself. It's not something he does all the time. There's nothing wrong with him being a good father.

As far as treating her as an adult, she's 10 years old now. The Bitch treated Lindsay like a baby and filled her head with all sorts of lies. She virtually ignored her daughter. Ted isn't about to explain things Lindsay has seen by talking about cabbage patches and birds and bees. She's old enough to know what life is about, and she deserves to learn the truth from her father.

The situation is entirely new to all of them, and they're doing the best they can without any previous experience.

Personally, I had questions when I was 6 years old, and there wasn't anyone I could ask, and no-one would tell me. That's why I was 31 years old before I even admitted to myself that I was gay. I wish my father had been as honest and trustworthy as Ted.
