I am interested in knowing if there are enough JUB members in the Portland Oregon area who would be interested in a large group meet sometime in the near future???

I will drive down for that!
I live in Portland, and would find it hard to turn down a JUB party in my own backyard! Bring it.
I would love to meet others here in Portland. Count me in, If my schedule will allow. Please keep me posted.
Hey you! Just saw your thread and hope you get lots of takers. I will be there in spirit with you guys and I send my best wishes for whatever happens.Originally Posted by rr564s

Tell me everything please! Please?
Ramon,
I have removed the 3 uploaded porn pics from your post. The Meet Ups in this forum are not the kind where men throw off their clothes and nice erotic encounters happen. It's not designed as a "hot" meet up.
Think of it as a nice dinner with 5 to 6 people or more: You might have young or old, and girls and boys all having dinner together ... for example.
Thanks!!
Zeremonie (JUB Moderator) (aka Melody)
There has to be more than three of us in the Portland area!!!
Count me in!
Yippee!!! Shall we set a date and time guys?
Does anyone have a suggestion as for a place for this meet up?
A really comfortable bar/restaurant would be Hobos. But, I'll go anywhere.![]()
Hobos would work for me. Good dates for me would be like Tuesday May 30th thru Saturday June 3Originally Posted by danjjo

I could be up for getting together. My confidence in this business of coming/being out waxes and wanes, and right now it's pretty weak, but we'll see.
"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "![]()

I like June 3rd. Its just before my daughters graduation on the 6th, after that the next few weekends are taken up. So June 3rd works for me. One other note is that I work most every weekend, I don't get off work until 830pm. So I can join a party allready in progress, if one will go that late.
From the posts and pvt msg to me, it looks like a weekend works best. How about either June 3rd or June 10th. Those are both Rose Festival weekends here. the evening of June 3rd is the Starlight parade and the morning of June 10th is the Grand Floral parade.
I like the idea of meeting at Hobos. Maybe we could tie the JUB gathering around the Rose Parade weekends which might bring in more members from the Pacific Northwest.
Let's hear from you. !!
June 3rd works best for me, I'll be out of town on the 10th. I'll vote for June 3rd.
I'm in Seattle and my work sched would be tricky, but I'd love to make it down. Been to two meets here in Seattle and they were lots of fun just getting to know the of local members of JUB. And I am still trying to figure out how to download the few photos I took, but I think I am getting closer. Will try again on Tuesday when I have my next day off. Derek
Did we loose everyones interest in the Portland Meet?!! I'm still very much interested.
I'm still interested - I guess there aren't that many guys in the Portland area?
How about we set it for June 24th? that will give everyone time to plan, and maybe some more guys will see this thread between now and then.
The 24th works for me! Come on PDX guys!!! Lets do this!!
I still think June 3rd would be a fun day to schedule it with the Starlight parade that night!!Originally Posted by Zeremonie

Btw, it looks like this is a gay establishment - Just curious, is it like ALL gay, or a mix of straight & gay - the only reason I am asking is just that I am wondering, if a girl, such as myself, might be out of place there. Just checking. Thanks.

June 3rd is fine for me.
In answer to Zeremonie's question. Hobo's is a restaurant more than a bar. It has good food and drinks. Pardon me for using this word, but I'd call it "swanky". Anyone would feel welcome there (I'd happily take my mother in for a drink).
Let's all try to get the word out. Maybe we can get a crowd together...
OK, June 3rd at Hobo's. What times??? I won't be avalable until after 830p, and with the parade going on, might have problems getting into downtown.
June 3rd works for me too! Any time is good with me. It's going to be pretty busy in that part of town that night. I've never been to Hobo's but I've seen it. Most places in Portland are mixed, even if they're known as a gay place you'll still find a lot of girls there.
No one ever said it was going to be easy, they just said it was going to be worth it!
OK, I'm not sure how this is supposed to be co-ordinated. But before I PM or send comments to any and all, let's try to agree on some basics:
June 3rd
Hobo's (120 NW 3rd Ave)
Say, 7:00 or 7:30 PM (gives time for the late arrivals)
If parking is an issue, remember Hobo's is just 3 short blocks from the Skidmore Fountain MAX station.
Let's make this happen!
sound fine with me
June 3rd, Hobo's, 7-730p, Works for me! Although I have to work til 830p, but will go directly there when I'm off. Will anyone still be there??
I can stay at the "party" until about 9:45. I'll have to leave about then to get to my job.
Sorry for the delay guys. Forgot about this great idea. June 3rd would work for me also. Just beware.......that is Rose Festival Starlight Parade Night, and Hobo's is smack dab in the middle of the parade staging area. I am not saying it is a bad idea, as certainly the town will be festive. I am just warning everyone, especially those who don't know Portland as well, that there will be some serious traffic snarls, closed streets, etc. The parade congestion begins well before the meet-up time, with a run just prior to the parade start around 8:30 pm.
This looks like it is going to be great!! I'm still planning on being in attendance. I'm planning on driving down with Nate (Elworth).
So far we have:
rr564s
mercuro
danjjo
jester25
antdak
zeremonie
Elworth
Can anyone who knows the area provide parking tips?
Thanks.
Melody
I stopped by Hobo's yesterday and the staff seemed to think the place wouldn't be full on June 3rd, but to be safe they're reserving a table for us JUB-ers.
So. See ALL OF YOU there, I hope, at 7:00 PM or later on the 3rd!!!
There are parking lots throughout the area and street parking, but anywhere near the MAX line would work--the bar is only 2 blocks from a station (Skidmore Fountain). And, Max is free from the Lloyd Center area to the 10th Ave stop.

June 3rd... coming up fast. Like, where did May go, already?
<looks around, bewildered>
I've never been to Hobo's, never heard of it before in fact, but these two feet can follow these two eyes and get there. If I have to, I'll park in one of the residential areas near a bus stop... tho MAX is more fun.

Hey! I need help finding a hotel! I've been looking at info on Hobo's, the parade route, and MAX but I really don't know Portland and I need help figuring this out.
Hotel suggestions please!
Recap:
Hobo's
120 NW Third Ave
Portland, OR 97209
^ this Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
(Is that the right time?)

So we dine and watch the parade!
Depends on what price range: The Hilton, The Benson is nearby and has real character, embassy suites, Hotel vintage Plaza, Marriott, etc
I wish I could make this meet but I have too much going on right now. I hope you guys have fun.Originally Posted by Zeremonie

Wow, yeah. Have tons of good times guys!!
lost in thought...found in Christ
Hey all, I will be coming down from Seattle as well to attend. I do work until about 5PM, and will have to shower afterwards, but will then be heading down to meet you guys. If for some reason you leave Hobo's can you let the front desk or a manager know where you might be heading? I really would like to meet some of the Portland crew. You all will love Z and Ells, they are great people. See you soon, derek
That was a success. Hobo's had a great atmosphere. I met danjjo, Kuhlindar, RR546, and Nate and I were there, and then Petereater arrived later on, and the fun continued. Some how it was just a perfect evening of conversation. We spent like 5 1/2 hours talking over food and the evening still flew by.
Thank you everyone!!![]()

Yes it truly was a fun time. Depsite the fact that because of traffic issues it took me four hours to drive from Seattle to Portland, I still had fun. For those of you that attended and had to book it before I arrived, I look forward to meeting you in the future. The four of us that were there, I just want to say thanks for the conversation and waiting around so long for my ass. XOXO, Derek
Well, Derek, maybe next time! I'm sorry I had to dash off to work, otherwise I would have stayed for the fun and for a chance to meet you.
To all who attended, it was a night for converstion. And it was a nice relaxed, fun time, wasn't it?
Daniel
I had a blast! And Portland is city that is very easy on the eyes. I'll be posting some pictures as soon as I get a chance!

I too thoroughly enjoyed it though I had to leave early. Sorry, I missed you Derek. You guys will have to create a reason for us to come to Seattle (or was that West Hollywood). JUB members there last night know what I am referring too, is it West Seattle or West Hollywood.?
Take Care,
Bob

I had one of those days at work that went from bad to worse. To make a long story short, my sink faucet sprung a leak, water every where, and THEN the food disposal decided it would quit and start leaking.

So 2 hrs late, I just went home and went to bed. I fully intend to make it to the next meet. I'm so glad this one went so well, and everyone had a good time.
Glad you all had a great time!![]()

Hey Nate where are those picture you promised! Just be sure to crop me from them.![]()
Here are the pictures I promised. If anyone wants any of Portland, I took a few...
I have more pictures, but not enough time tonight. I'll post more when I get back.![]()
