Most DISTURBING movie you have ever seen?

Name a movie that you found to be so disturbing that you couldn't stop thinking about it for days and even now it still had an impact on you.

For me it was Requiem for a Dream. Starring Jared Leto, Ellen Burstyn, Jennifer Connelly and Marlon Waynes. It's about when the drug-induced utopias of four Coney Island individuals are shattered when their addictions become stronger.

What was disturbing was how you witness their lives just fall apart. Especially Ellen Burstyn's character. Quite captivating, ending is so despressing. Just disturbed me a lot. The imagery was intense. Very well directed. Dark movie

What movies have disturbed you and why?

Salo: 100 Days of Sodom by Pier Paulo Pasolini. It was Palolini's last film, before he was apparently beaten to death by a hustler. I can't describe the movie without collapsing into a fetal position, and sobbing uncontrollably.

Pink Flamingos, by John Waters, follows a distant 2nd.

I do not remember the name of it now, but I was in SFO and watched a movie about airplane accident. I was flying to Brazil in the next four days, so I was very nervous and frightened.

Seven: starring Brad Pitt, Gwyneth Paltrow & Morgan Freeman. Very dark, grisly and morbid for me. It disturbed me so much that i thought about it for days and days and that there probably are people out there that do such unspeakable acts of violance. There were three of us that went to the movie and after we got out, we couldn't even talk about it without feeling creeped out.

Silence of the Lambs....the part where Clarice is in the house alone with the serial killer. She cannot see because it is dark and he has on those night vision goggle and almost touches her hair while she blindly gropes the darkness with her gun.....creepy.

No matter how much you think about it... even tho the bad guy dies in the end, he really won in every way. It just messes your head up. I can't explain it any more if you didn't see it.

    Visitor Q.

I can gaurantee most people could not stomach this whole movie, if you ever get to watch this movie, you will never suspect how fucked up the movie really is. Alot of really really gross scenes, but in all I wasn't grossed out myself, just astonished on how bizarre a movie could be.

Another VERY hard movie to watch is "Baisse Moi" which starts off with a gang rape of two women who, in very graphic and violent Thelma and Louise fashion, take their revenge against anyone and everyone through to the gory climax. Sexually explicit and bloody movie. Recommended for those of you who are not squeamish!

It has to be The Deer Hunter. I saw it when it first came out and to this day I wouldn't see it again , even for money. The russian roulette scene was especially disturbing. Funny I don't see myself as a particularly oversensitive type either.

    Boys Don't Cry
Who wouldn't be affected by this movie? I'd never want to meet them.

    Spanking The Monkey
Humorous title. Sick, disturbing movie. He sleeps with his mother, for God's sake.
Someone asked me once how I could know that I'm gay if I've never slept with a woman. I've never shoved shards of glass into my eye, either, but I don't have to give it a shot to know that it's not for me.

The most disturbing movie I've ever seen would have to be IRREVERSIBLE... I get chills just thinking about it. It's a great movie if you can get past the first 45 minutes/hour.

Warning... It's a french film with weird camera angles that can make some vomit, and has a brutal 10 minute long rape scene.

Off the top of my head, one that comes to mind is "Soldier's Girl", the cable movie about the transsexual, where the military guy falls in love with "her".
The fact that it was true really hit me, at the end.

The one movie I can think of off the bat would be Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange"

This flick was extremely disturbing and violent, an "in your face" kinda flick.

You will never look at a clown again.

VulgarR, Comedy Drama, 1hr 24min2002Brian O'Halloran, Ethan Suplee, Scott Mosier ...moreKevin Smith co-produced this bizarre (and sometimes very dark) comedy from his high school friend and occasional acting colleague Bryan Johnson. Will Carlson (Brian O'Halloran) is a second-rate children's entertainer who barely scrapes out a living appearing as Flappy the Clown at children's parties. Determined to make a living and support his harridan mother through clowning, Will gets the idea to change his act, and starts hiring himself out as Vulgar the Clown, a cross-dressing gagman who performs at adults-only functions. Vulgar's debut performance, however, proves worse than disastrous; hired to appear at a bachelor party, Vulgar is gang-raped by three subnormal rednecks who were expecting something quite a bit different. Will's life seems to have hit rock bottom when he stumbles into the middle of a police standoff with a deranged father holding his children hostage. Will, in full Flappy the Clown regalia, accidentally saves the day, and soon the story of the heroic clown is all over the local media. A television producer gets the idea of building a children's television show around Flappy, and it looks like Will may have finally hit the big time. But just when things begin to look up, Will is informed that someone videotaped him being raped at the bachelor party, and a blackmailer threatens to release the tape and destroy his new career if Will doesn't pay up. Vulgar features supporting performances from several members of Kevin Smith's stock company and production team, including Jason Mewes, Scott Mosier, and Smith himself. The film underwent several attempts to secure an "R" rating from the MPAA

A great movie that NONE of you have ever heard of, let alone seen.

"H" is a Canadian movie about a couple, addicted to heroin. Its a story of their attempts to overcome their drug addiction, while living in a hovel. Not an action flick, its filmed entirely in this 1 room apartment, with only the two actors interacting with each other, and their drugs.

As far from Disney as you can get. I won't say more without ruining it for all!

Peter Watkins "The War Game" (1965). I saw it in about 1982, and came out white and shaking. I don't know whether I could sit through it again.

"Female Trouble" is disturbing, but in a totally different way.

VERY impressive Henderson! A true art-house film conoisseur aren't you?

The films by Bruce LaBruce are usually pretty disturbing. I particularly enjoyed the stumping scene from Hustler White. I laughed out loud when the elderly couple in front of me got out of their seats and huffed out of the theatre. I think they took the wrong turn, taking a left instead of right in Lion King.

LaBruce's Skin Flicks celebrates a gang of skin heads who have sex with men, but don't identify as gay. They terrorize a gay couple and have the tables turned on them.

Raspberry Reich sexualizes terrorism and Super 8&1/2 celebrates gay porn.

Haven't seen No Skin Off My Ass but I'm looking long and hard!

"The City of God" a basically true story about the child gangs in the slums of Brazil. As we left, I turned to my friend saying, "I never want to see that movie again."

He said, "Didn't you like it?"

And I said it was one of the best movies I've ever seen but overwhelmingly powerful. He mentioned a scene I found most disturbing--in which one young boy must choose what happens to his brother--and the amazing thing is, in that short a period, I had completely blotted it from my mind.

On another level, Gus van Sant's (sp?) "Gerry" in that I still don't know what it was about and have only found one other person who has seen it. One critic called it "Walking for Godot."

I laughed out loud when the elderly couple in front of me got out of their seats and huffed out of the theatre. I think they took the wrong turn, taking a left instead of right in Lion King.
OH MY GOD. I CANT EVEN imagine an old couple witnessing Hustler WhITE!!! hahahaha. That movie was fucked up. I felt sick at some parts because the people were so ugly looking (YES..even Tony Ward... didnt care for his jerk off scene) and the Amputee made me vomit. (Nothing against War-amps, i just didnt like him)

    Yeah hustler white sucked

I like that greg arakis? is that his name? He made that movie about two gay guys on a rampage. That was good. And it bothered the hell out of gay guys because it was a movie made by a gay guy that showed gays doing murderous things.

OMG!!!!! THANKS SO MUCH You totally reminded me of a movie. YES KIDS was very messed up. It seemed so real. Like a man just followed these teens with a camera.

But the same director later released a movie called BULLY. Definetley left an impresion on me. Just disturbing in every sense in this one Climactic scene.

Some of the cast from Bully
