Super Sentai, Power Rangers japanese older brother

Just want to see if there are any Toku fans here, anybody watch ToQger?

But first, Super Sentai? What in sam hill is that?! Well as the title suggests, what we know as Power Rangers is spliced together from a japanese show mostly using the fight and megazord sequences along with american actors. For comparison, what we know as "Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" is known in Japan as "Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger" roughly translated as "Dinosaur Squad Beastranger" I started watching some of the current series and they are so good! Fun and well written stories, great action, and people actually die in the show too! I started with "Kaizou Sentai Gokaiger" which is currently being adapted as "Power Rangers Super Megaforce", in the japanese version the pirate thing makes alot more sense.

The Power Rangers series is in my Netflix que of programs that watch in rotation a season at a time. As I go along I've been researching the Super Sentai series they imported each particular season from. I try to find some episodes on YouTube to watch to get a feel for it. This site (Ranger Wiki: Super Sentai, Power Rangers) has proven quite useful as it provides cross-references between the two series episodes.

I hope the upcoming Shout Factory Zyuranger DVDs sell well because there are a bunch of Sentai seasons that I'd like to see released on DVD; I've only seen Kakuranger (loved it), half of Zyuranger (thought MMPR S1 was better) and the first five or six episodes of Timeranger (thought it was as good as Time Force but they're so similar that I wasn't compelled to keep watching).

I've seen every episode of Power Rangers so watching the Sentai counterparts is still on my to-do list. It's just hard to find some series with subtitles, much less good subtitles. Watching Kakuranger as the subs were being made was excruciating because I'd have to wait weeks just for another episode to be ready. >_>

My fave is Dairanger, the origin of the White Ranger and second set of Zords. The theme song, the humor, and story are awesome. I want to see Jetman because that was originally what they were going to use to start MMPR.

^I enjoyed Dairanger, but I enjoyed Kakuranger even more, I felt like the cast had much better chemistry
