    Project Runway

Project Runway season 13 starts this Thursday on Lifetime TV. Hope they have more interesting challenges this season, since it's been on awhile and the show does get dull. They need to shake it up a bit. Hope they have some interesting designers.
Tune in and come back here and comment on it.

I'll check it out... I hope that it can stay interesting this time around. I will not, however, watch All-Stars or a Tim Gunn-headed side show, because it'll burn me out.

I'll be watching - wish Michael Kors was back on as I don't really care for Zac Posen. Nina is always good for a snarky comment or two.

I miss the old Project Runway....last time i tried watching, they had just moved Tim Gunn into a more prominent role and as much as i love him, they really should of just kept him where he's always been on the show. Also that last time i tried watching, none of the designers were interesting to me so i didn't watch further than the first episode. I'll try watching Thursday but it's a repeat of what i just wrote, that will be the only episode i'll catch...

    Re: Project Runway

Stop with the one day challenges already. Let's see Michael Kors do that. I used to watch this show because it was interesting to see the designers come up really great things based on their talent. Now it's a just a dirty little rat race.

It's just ca-ca. It wore me out.

I absolutely agree - Posen strikes me as a guy that either tries too hard, or doesn't try at all... no middle ground. And since he's been there, the guests have leaned more towards celebrities that are all too nice, rather than those that know something about the fashion world.

I love the show -- and I'll agree with the above regarding Kors -- also that it is CRITICAL that they have INTERESTING designers!!!

I agree I miss Michael Kors comments, but we still have Nina Garcia's snarky comments. I hope this season is more interesting than last season.

What did you guys think? Personally.....I think this is looking to be the worst season since the one in L.A. Look at the sponsors for crying out loud - red robin and best western? How are those fashion related? And the outfit that won was one of the worst! I wanted to throw something through my iPad at the judges.

Yes, I agree that dress was hideous that won the first challenge. This week's unconventional challenge, where they had to use materials from the movie theatre was interesting. The Asian woman needs to go. Her designs in the first two challenges were horrible. I think Mitchell's design was cool and interesting. The guy who designed a white dress out of CD's or DVD's was really interesting. I think there are some interesting designers this season. Also, I think his name is Hernan, he bullied the other two women on his team to come up at the last minute with the horrible dress made out of movie film. I thought he should have gone home not the woman who was sent home.

Too bad there wasn't a "Project Runaway First" when immunity (undeserved in my opinion) was revoked and no-talent cry-baby gets sent packing.

    Re: Project Runway

I have to agree that the dress from the first competition was ...................UGLY Looked like an old curtain. As the judges told her last week, it's a good thing she had immunity because her dress was awful.

After watching this week's show I can't believe the judges picked Sandhya's futuristic dress. I thought the dress looked very costumey. In the critiques this week the judges seemed divided on the contestants. as far as Angela being sent home, that decision I agree with. Next week's challenge with repurposing menswear suits seems interesting and can't wait to see what the designers come up with. Anyone else have any opinions about this week's show?

I don't get how Sandhya won, personally. I didn't find it to be the worst thing, but aside from the gold band, almost automotive tubing, it was just a long and strangely tight pink dress to me.

Angela going home? Eh, won't miss her. Thought they could have easily kicked off the guy who basically dressed his model in a shag carpet with faux-leather(or whatever that was) on the top.

    Re: Project Runway

After watching last night's show I think Amanda deserved to win. She repurposed the men's suit and it was totally unrecognizable. The fact that she was able to make that fringe herself was pretty amazing. I'm glad Hernan went home. His dress was horrid! He also had an attitude throughout the competition. One of the other contestants made a comment that off camera Sandhya isn't as nice. That she only appears nice while the cameras are rolling.

    What did everyone else think?

Next week's competition is that they have to create a red carpet look for Heidi to wear. This should be interesting.

I thought Amanda should have won too, but, I thought the black fringe was a little much, or maybe that was too much of it, and, I'm glad that Hernan is gone because he didn't know what the hell he was doing, and worse, he had nerve enough to blame everyone but himself for the piece of crap.

I also thought the purple motorcycle jacket looked like something that Elvis impersonator on season 3 would have made, only he would have embellished it even more.

Of all the episodes, as far as design, I thought this was the best so far.

^Well I guess you learned not to look at a shows' facebook page while the show is on.

I actually don't agree with the winning look - to me, the look was well done, don't get me wrong, but it made the model look a lot longer than she was, in a bad way. It may be just me, but the length of the dress made her look almost anorexic and elongated. As much as I didn't like Kini(or Kimi), I think his look could have won.

As for the losing side, I agree with everything.

I have to disagree with you. I liked the winning look. The blue fabric and the design with the fringe and the black at the bottom of the dress makes it an interesting red carpet unique look. I am also glad he redeemed himself from being on the bottom in the last two challenges.

As for the losing side, Kristine's dress was horrible and too much boobage showing. She deserved to go home. I thought Korina's emerald green dress was bad. The color was not great and it was ill fitting. I thought she should have gone home too. Mitchell's red dress was bad too. As much as I did not want him to go home, because he is from Ft Lauderdale, and I was rooting for my home team designer he deserved to go home too.

What Boggles my mind is Sandhya spent over $400 for the fabrics for her gown, which is almost double of every other designer, and she only was safe. Not that I liked her design at all. This just shows that she is not a great designer!

Anyone else watch this week's show? Any comments?

    Re: Project Runway

I don't know why Charketa agreed to Sandhya's yellow dresses idea. By going with the Tweety Bird Yellow it sent her packing.

As far as Sean winning over Kini I was disappointed. Kini designed his dress and Sean's pants. Sean only designed and created the top. I thought Kini should have won not Sean.

So far, in Season 13 Sandhya, Amanda, and now Sean are in the two-time winners club.

What did everyone else think of this week's show? Any comments?

    Re: Project Runway

The previous week's show was the Chopard Jewelry challenge. I was very surprised Tim Gunn used his save and brought back Char. She is a good designer but has never been in the top in any of the competitions so far. So, as good a designer as she is, she's not great and I don't think she should have brought back in my opinion. In fact in this week's competition she said she was glad to be safe. The whole idea of a competition is too be in the top and possibly the winner.

I was glad to see Korina win this week's challenge. I thought her coat and evening gown really highlighted the Chopard Jewelry very well.

As far as the person being sent home this week, Samantha's dress was safe and it was a bit sloppy.

    Re: Project Runway

This week's challenge was the avante-garde Rainway Challenge. I thought this challenge was the most unique challenge of the history this show!

Sean's dress that changes color was very cool and unique! I was glad to see him win again. Kini's umbrella dress was also cool and unique. I was glad that he also win this week. It was about time. He is a great designer.

Fade's dress did not connect to anything to do with rain which is why he was sent home.

I think the other designers need to step it up a notch and take some risks. It seems the same people are always in the top. If the other designers want to win they have to work harder for it.

Any comments? I would like to hear what other viewers are thinking.

Next week's challenge involves the American Girl dolls.

    Re: Project Runway

thought i'd gibve my two cents

overall i think the last couple of seasons as been lacking in orginality. the designers are referrencing way to much of other peoples work.

    about the rainway episode

Kini's dress the "umbrella" skirt has been done soooo many times. he is some very good skills but all of his work is referrencing somone else. like the judges said this look was a basic knock of the mcqueen fall 2009 . his diamond episode dress allthough it was pretty it was also referrencing very heavy the style of Dior especially the spring couture 2007 collection

Sean's was okay but very mcqueen.. he did that dress one collection that was all white where 2 robots sprayed paint on it on the runway but he took a risk and i applaud that

Fade's was actually a very nice dress but like the judges said where was the connection to the rain which i agree with.

SandHya < i really enjoy because her designs are orginal questionable sometimes but orginal she also the only one who has a really strong point of view.

Amanda i cant stand.. her interviews and her interaction is so fucking awfull her designs can be pretty nice though...

Emily needs to go, also Alexander.... looking forward to see what Char can bring...

I loved Kini's avant-gard design. I didn't care for the dress with dye packets sewn in.

This week's Challenge was the American Girl Doll Challenge.
    The Top 3: Korina
    Kini
    Char
I was glad to see Char finally made it to the top 3 after being safe in almost every challenge. Kini deserved the win I think. He has now won 2 in a row.

    The Bottom 3: Sean
    Sandhya
    Emily

Sean definitely played it too safe this week. Emily's design was drab and boring. Sandhya's design definitely looked like a onesie. I personally never liked any of her designs. Sandhya was sent home this week.

What did everyone else think about this week's winner and loser?

I think it was Sandhya's time - I didn't get the pink one piece, and finally, the judges didn't think it was an intricate masterpiece. Hwever, had Emily went home, I wouldn't have minded either... she did WAY TOO MUCH for that little girl. What's the rule about fashion, get dressed in all, but take one thing off before you go? Something like that. That silly ass veil didn't even need to be made.

Also, much as I didn't think I'd like Kimi much, he changed what he was going for at first and pulled out a WELL deserved win there - kudos to him for taking the almost invincible Sean down. I'm also glad that Char made it to the top 3 - the way she pulled off the fringe worked for the challenge, so hey, sometimes listening to your gut works. Now she just needs to pull off a win!

    this week:

i totally thougth Kini was a snoozed he just made a redesign of what the doll was already wear and put on a mini chanel jacket

Sean was just so boring aswell

i was very sad to see Sandhya go she was for me one of the orginal ones and i liked her onesize and think a more eccentric child would def wear it (and they do excist)

Char was okay.. Korine's was really badly made.....

Emily should have gone her clothes was just so boring all the time

There was a mouth hole, or are you wasting a perfectly good cocktail?

And, has Alexander been winning that? How... WHY?! He must have a lot of friend watching the show - I don't see him making it anywhere closer to the top 3(or four) than he already is.

And, has Alexander been winning that? How... WHY?! He must have a lot of friend watching the show - I don't see him making it anywhere closer to the top 3(or four) than he already is.
He must have lots of friends out there voting for him. I don't see him winning any challenges. His designs have not been that good.

I saw a Facebook post last week about New York Fashion week and the PR contestants showing there. I didn't click and read b/c I didn't want to spoil the finale anymore than the photo shown in the post already had, but if the three contestants it displayed do in fact show at Fashion week... let's just say someone eliminated is coming back. Otherwise it was misleading bullshit.

It's possible someone eliminated could be coming back. I have a feeling it was misleading BS.

    Re: Project Runway

This week's Challenge was to randomly select a Muse and do a Makeover.
    The Top 3 this week:
    Emily
    Kini
    Korina
I did not like Emily's dress. It was too costumey. I liked Kini's denim jacket and dress. I liked Korina's leather jacket and dress. She won this week! But I think she is getting a bit cocky!
    The Bottom 3 this week:
    Char
    Alexander
    Amanda
Char's red shorts outfit was horrible. I don't think she should have gotten an extra 10 minutes to replace her model's zipper. I understand why they did. They did not want the model to go out on the runway exposed and be embarrassed. Amanda's dress and vest were poorly executed. I did not like the fabric she chose for the dress. It was ugly. The vest was not bad. Alexander's dress was ugly. The fabric was terrible and it was not flattering on his model. Alexander went home this week! He deserved to go. As the youngest designer on this season's show he still has a lot to learn as a designer. This week Again, Alexander won Fan Favorite! He must have loads of friends that are voting for him.

I would like to hear everyone else's opinions and comments about this week's show. Let me know what you thought!

    Re: Project Runway

It was Alexanders' time... has been for a long time. But, and I think i'm noting a theme here, if Char went for that red mess of an outfit, I would not have been mad either - she deserved the bottom spot. Alexander made two bad outfits, so there was no saving him.

HOWEVER. I don't mind that Char had the extra time to put on a zipper, because that's ALL she did(had she added ANYTHING else, I'd say she should be disqualified). And I don't like how all the other designers decided to throw shade at a choice they could have said no to - if you thought it was a second Tim Gunn save, open up your fucking mouths and say no, she had all the time she could have had, just like the rest of you. Don't try and be all mad after the fact and say she shouldn't be here because of something that maybe she could have controlled better, or maybe was just the (bad) luck of the draw. I don't expect designers to be paragons of virtue, but damn, have a little class.

    Re: Project Runway

As much as Alexander deserved to go, which has been LONG overdue, Tim's critique was not at all constructive. He claimed to say it out of his responsibility to be honest, yet he totally bullshits Alexander at the end "you're one of the best designers we've ever had on Project Runway". No. He is not. Tim Gunn, you are full of shit. And so is the "Tim Gunn save".

Also I want Amanda to be my best friend. Her designs are okay and she is usually very smart in knowing what will appeal to the judges and what she can accomplish in time. But generally, I just think she has a delightful personality and sense of humor. I want to have drinks with her. That does not mean she should win. Sean should win.

Also, Sean is more and more attractive with each passing episode. Very cute.

    Re: Project Runway

Alexander < I actually liked his first outfit...it was so fun and so much better than the one he decided to show... also i dont get why the designers changed there whole design if tim dosent like it... step up and believe in your own designs and besides last episode Tim told sean & char to drop their fringe.. sean did it (and he ended up in the bottom) Char kept hers and was in the top...just saying...

Amanda< was so ugly and boring.. looked something you could buy at h & m..nice colors though....

Emily: loved her design.. the top was so nice she should have made the bottom more simple and slick....

Kini< for me he is more of a seamstress to me

Char< super boring .. also the other designs should just have said yes they had a problem instead that shady thingy they are doing to char behind the scenes also its funny how insecure most of them are inthem selves if you design is good its good dosent matter if char gets another 10 min or not....

This week's Challenge: team challenge of 2. Each team bids on a storage unit. Each team has to create 2 cohesive looks from found materials in storage unit.
Tim announces a twist that each team has to create a 3rd look using mostly material.

    The top team: Kini/Amanda
Kini is this week's winner. I liked his soccerball dress.
    Emily is in.
    Sean is in.
    Bottom 2:
    Korina
    Char
Nina makes a comment that Korina's look is her 4th Southwest design. Korina says it is not. She says she only had one Southwest design which was a winning design. Emily comments that Korina is resentful. I have to agree. Korina has a chip on her shoulder that she is the best designer. I don't think her designs are that great.
Heidi presents another twist that each of the bottom 2 designers have to create another look within 1 hour.
Char's blue dress with cape looked very nice and she won.
Korina created a black and white dress which she did not love herself. Korina was sent home.
In next week's preview they bring back designers to help the remaining designers with their looks. Korina gets paired with Char and she says she can't work with her and walks out. It just shows what a B-I-T-C-H Korina is.

What does everyone else think? I would like to hear everyone else's comments.

Char's dress was much better made than Karinina's was and it was much more stylish and presented the beautiful look on the runway she deserved to win.

She was just bitter and felt she was better than Charquita. Clearly she was not and deserved to go home.

    Re: Project Runway

I'll shed no tears for Korina and her bitchy smug attitude about Char - her(and her model) didn't deserve to move on with either outfit they made for both challenges. It was disgusting, and when she lost, she just got more disgusting trying to bring Char to her level, and then have the nerve to shush her when Char - rightfully - got offended by it. Again, class - Korina needs to find some.

Now, I just need Char to REMEMBER THAT SECOND OUTFIT - the first one(and that lamp shade one her and Sean made - ICK) was horrendous.

Kini's soccer ball(football) dress... man, if you make me a fall jacket like that i'd wear it til it got either too cold or too hot to stand it. That was awesome. Aside from that pimpette quilted jacket, he and Amanda were the front runners, and well deserved... EXCEPT that trash bag dress. I just didn't get it.

    Re: Project Runway

thank god she went out Korina. her attitude was so fucking off and its been like that for the whole season which i think is kinda funny when you at her designs they very relaxed but clearly she is not..got what she deserved..and thar whole remake about coming after char and then telling Char to be quiet its not about her...girls please....

the only thing with Chars design is that they are very now not very whats going to be....

I loved Kini & Amanda but i wished the fur jacket had been on the pink outfit it was sooooo much better

Korina getting sent off in tears: probably one of the single most joyous moments of Project Runway ever. I was afraid she was going to end up another Gretchen.
I loved Nina's reaction to that Carmen Sandiego look. But I can't say Emily's was really much better, pretty much just looked like a chair. At least Sean's lamp shade dress had an interesting silhouette.

Also, Sean's sassy jab at Char's sewing at the end of the episode was adorable.

Sean's lamp shade dress may have had an interesting silhouette, but it was unwearable. The model could not walk in it. I have to give some props for creativity. Emily's chair dress was also creative but Yes it did look like a chair. Next time the designers get creative they also need to think about practicality.
