    New shoes hurt like HELL!

    Hello Boys,
So I purchased a new pair of shoes (great sale @ Topman) and couldn't wait to wear them. Got dressed up for a day on the town to see a show and enjoy myself for a change. As I hit the streets of New York feeling fabulous, my confident strut turned to agony with every fucking step. After walking for fifteen minutes my shoes began to rub the back of my feet and hurt like a bitch! Rub and Burn! So here I am, looking good and ready to have a great day but walking like a teenage girl wearing her fist pair of hooker heals. Rub and Burn, rub and burn! Ouch! I actually had to go to the drug store and buy a box of bandages. So there I was, all dressed up, sitting on a bench, removing my socks in public, the embarrassment! The skin on the back of my feet actually peeled off and formed a blister! I fumbled with those band aids, WHY do the simplest things take so fucking long to do when your rushing? Not to mention the looks I got from curious passer by's ( the Horror). So I managed to cover my wounds with two fucking band aids, tied up my laces and eased back into my confident strut as best I could. Wound up having a nice day but my feet are scarred for life! Have you ever had blisters on the back of your feet?

If you buy insole inserts, thick in the heel. It may raise the heel enough to solve the problem.

You're supposed to try the shoes on and walk around for a bit first while paying attention to your feet to see if they'll fit properly before you buy them. Just sayin'.

I've had this happen a few times. I taped some gauze back there and tried not to wear tight shoes until it healed.

Topman shoes are the worst, imho, unless you have ridiculously small feet.

Dr. Scholl's Moleskin Pads should do the trick. You stick them to your heel so the shoe rubs against the pad instead of your skin. Or you could try praying to St. Blase, who is the patron of blisters amongst other things.

Moleskin Pads work great, but only if you know that your shoes are going to rub and you put them on your feet before the rubbing starts. If you put them on after the blister starts to develop it hurts like hell when you peel them off. I know form experience.

I hate shopping for shoes, I hate shoes. I walk everywhere so even when they fit they tend to fall apart fast so then I'm back to square one.

I can feel your pain I guess. I just bought new shoes for work because my old ones were worn out. I had to get some with a memory foam support to try to help the symptoms of gout I'm getting in my right foot. Hurts like hell. And the gout medication has horrible side effects. Ugggg.

I've been there too. Bought this great pair of boots and I swear they were trying to kill me. I learn never to wear your new shoes for the first time when trying to look good, my feet swelled up like watermelons and I could not stand the pain. I have heard that to avoid your skin being peeled by it rubbing against the back of your new shoes, you should apply deodorant to the area before putting on the offending shoes. Hope your feet feel better soon.

Yes, and plasters helped. It'll take a couple to three or four weeks to get it back to normal. I had blood on my socks and not walked in those shoes since that day

    And this.

I never buy a pair of shoes until I've walked at least a hundred yards in them. Not just walked, either -- bend, twist, step up and down, spin on the heel, stretch and stand on the ball and toes, kneel down, all the motions I might possibly go through with a pair of shoes. If you didn't test/try them before buying, my sympathy is limited -- consider it a learning experience and be smart next time.

I did once buy a pair of long-distance trail shoes that caused some pain on testing, but I knew from that testing where to put moleskin and that a simple sole insert reduced the issue. In a few hundred miles of hiking, they adjusted to my feet. You can actually help shoes adjust by using extra-thick moleskin to force them to stretch.

Long time ago I had bought a pair of spectacular boots and put them on the same night, going to the clubs.
After only 10 minutes it started to feel like torture, but I am hardcore, so I danced and danced until the clubs closed. Back at the hotel I took them off, only to discover that my socks were soaked with blood.
The next day I put some bandage on my heels and put the boots back on for an afternoon shopping.
Nothing and nobody would stop me from wearing those spectacular boots.

    Talk about masochism....

You're supposed to try on shoes before you buy them and wear them. I did have a pair of shoes which I bought that seemed alright, but must have been made of a material that made my feet burn after awhile. I eventually wore them only rarely.

Get a good attorney and sue the shoe company for 100 billion dollars. You may get lucky and collect 500 grand!

I prefer to buy 'classic' designs. Every time I buy fashionable shoes it's a terrible mistake. When I buy, I buy shoes that last for years if not a decade. I've recently inherited several from my late father and from my equally late boyfriend. Some come from the trash.
