Research survey of gay and bisexual men living in the UK
I'm currently completing a MSc in Statistics with Medical Applications at Birkbeck College in the UK, and for my main project I'm investigating sexual risk reduction strategies practiced by men who have sex with men living in the UK, as well as attitudes towards HIV.
In order to gather the data to analyse for my project, I'm conducting a survey of gay and bisexual men and other men who have sex with men in the UK. The survey asks a number of (non-identifying) socio-demographic questions, as well as information on sexual health and and sexual behaviour over the last 6 months. All responses are completely anonymous, and no information about your computer (such as IP address) is recorded. So it won't be at all possible to identify you from your responses. The use of this survey has been granted ethics approval by the Ethics Officer in my department at university.
In order to be eligible to participate in the survey, you need to be a male aged 18 or over, living in the UK, and have had sexual contact with another male in the last 6 months. All eligible men are invited to complete the survey, regardless of their current HIV status. You must also be happy for me to use your responses in the analysis I'll be doing for my project.
If you would like to participate in the survey, it can be found at https://www.esurveycreator.com/s/804a17b.
It should take less than 10 minutes to complete. I really need as many responses as I can get, so I’d really appreciate your help.
I should mention that one of the questions asks if you are in a committed relationship, and gives you three options 1) Yes, with a man, 2) Yes, with a woman or 3) No, I'm not currently in a committed relationship. I had initially wanted to give the option of selecting multiple responses, and allow for multiple male and multiple female partners. Unfortunately I had to simplify it somewhat, and so you will only be able to select one of the options. However, I would ask that if you are currently in a committed relationship with multiple partners, and at least one of them is male, then please select the option "Yes, with a man".
If you’ve any questions at all about my project, just let me know – I’d be very happy to answer them
