Andy Cohen has responded to the rumors that he is engaged to former NHL star Sean Avery via his facebook page. He screen shot the pic of him and his fiance/boyfriend Sean Avery together at a beach and said "How'd they find out". This rumor has circulated all the way up to Yahoo Sports
Someone on twitter later asked Andy if the story is true, to which he responded “ask @iamseanavery”. That tweet has since been deleted.
I think its pretty obvious the "how'd they find out" is a joke....
Love it as the two get engaged.
What a shame. Sean Avery seemed like such a humorless fuck on WWHL. You'd think Andy could do better
I don't believe this rumor. A guy like Sean doesn't marry a guy with a body like Andy's.
I believe the rumour people have talked about his for a LONG TIME. I think some people just can't or don't want to believe it because Sean Avery is so masculine. But just because a man is masculine doesn't mean he can't be gay or bisexual. Look at Darren Young and Wentworth Miller both those guys came out recently, they are very masculine gay men.
I think something is definitely going on between Sean Avery and Andy Cohen there are so many photos of them out and about on twitter. Now some people might say, well why can't a gay man and a straight man be JUST FRIENDS? But, if you look at the body language between Andy and Sean I sense they might be romantically involved. I don't get why Sean Avery just doesn't come out? Sean's NHL career is over he's retired, I think it would be good if Sean did come out of the closet.
Being a Jock , but not the American kind , never heard of them .
At first, I thought it was a joke, the gay rumour that former NHL player Sean Avery and Andy Cohen are dating and engaged.
It would certainly be incredible for the NHL if the gay rumour was true that Avery and Cohen are indeed a gay couple.
No man in the NHL history either retired or active has EVER come out of the closet and declared he is gay or bisexual.
The thing is though, Avery is retired from the NHL so, if he is gay or bisexual he might as well come out of the closet he doesn't have anything to lose now.
However, the story seems to be picking up steam although, Andy Cohen told TMZ last night he's not banging Sean Avery but he says he would like to.
If you go to Andy and Sean's twitter accounts there are numerous photos of them together. I've seen the numerous pics of Sean and Andy on various vacations and the intimacy of the photos indicate they are more than just friends.
Now, I know some people are going to say, why can't a gay or straight man just be friends?
I'm not saying a straight guy and a gay man cannot be just friends, but I do believe that in order for a real friendship to occur there can't be any sexual tension from the gay guy.
I hear that some straight men are fearful of having a close friendship with an openly gay male because they fear the gay guy could start to catch feelings for him.
Not saying that's what's going on in Avery and Cohen's case, but I don't think Sean Avery is completely straight.
But, I am inquiring, the gay guys that do have straight friends, do you go on vacations with them? Hang out at gay resorts with your straight friends too? Because that's what Sean Avery and Andy Cohen have been doing.
Avery's been silent he hasn't really given a clear answer, it just seems to me Sean could be deep in the closet and not want to come out.
It is strange now, that Avery doesn't want media attention when he is usually a publicity hound?
I remember a few years ago Avery got a lot of press for being an intern at Vogue, he went on and on about how he loves fashion. It just seemed like Avery was inching out of the closet.
On NHL sports forums a lot of the straight guys there seem convinced Avery is at least bisexual, and I think he is too.
I guess, we are probably never going to get an direct answer.

I think he's bisexual or deeply closeted...I had my speculations in 2008 after that debacle about Elisha Cuthbert (sp?), the whole 'sloppy seconds' bit. Who would say that? That's not only incredibly rude to the women (and the men they're with now), but it comes off as outrageously crass and self-loathing. Plus his unusual aggressiveness - both on and off the ice - would be explained by being in the closet. And didn't he work for Vogue?
I could be viewing him through rose-coloured glasses though, because next to rugby players, hockey players are the hottest athletes out there.
Yes, I also think Avery is at least bisexual and he's definitely deeply closeted. Sean Avery did intern at Vogue in 2008 I think he wrote Anna Wintour a letter asking her if he can write for the magazine. Avery does seem like he is over compensating like he's trying so hard to have this aggressive image that he's hiding something. Since Sean is now retired from the NHL he might as well come out of the closet. I think some people don't want to believe Avery could be bisexual because the NHL is so macho.
There are so many masculine gay male athletes out there, that could shatter all of these negative stereotypes about gay men in sports. All it takes is a couple of gay male athletes to come out and I think it would make a world of difference in terms of giving gay male athletes a more positive image.
However, over 600 men are in the NHL there is no way in hell they are ALL heterosexual that's impossible. The NHL is strange, they have this You Can Play program, they claim to be progressive about gay rights yet nobody has come out in the NHL. One would think the NHL would be progressive since most of the North American players are Canadians. Yet nobody has come out of the closet. Maybe the NHL isn't as progressive and this whole thing about being positive about gay rights is just for PR and good press?

I've gone on plenty of vacations with straight friends. But I doubt any of them (well, except maybe a couple of my straight female friends who are essentially gay men trapped in women's bodies) would want to hang out at a gay resort with me.But, I am inquiring, the gay guys that do have straight friends, do you go on vacations with them? Hang out at gay resorts with your straight friends too? Because that's what Sean Avery and Andy Cohen have been doing.

This hockey superstar appeared as a guest judge on Project Runway a few years ago, expressing his interest in fashion and design. This year he was a contestant on Dancing With The Stars (2nd to be eliminated, and in the aftermath he was shown in a selfie of him and his BFF Andy Cohen, the reigning queen of Bravo TV) .... So gay or not gay , that is the question lol ....
Adamiami, maybe this will help:
Welcome to JUB!
Well, I remember seeing him on Fashion Police last year, and because I have no interest in sport, I didn't have the faintest idea who he was, but he definitely set off my gaydar, so I think it's possible that he could be gay, or at least bisexual. Although my gaydar is by no means 100% accurate, so you may want to take my opinion with a pinch of salt.
