I can't stand media that have only 1 race in it

I really can't stand BET. Putting shows about all black people is just annoying. And then there's Bravo, which put out shows with all white people and one with all black people even one with all Iranian people.

I gotta be honest here, it's pretty annoying. As someone who's mixed race, I like races getting fair representation, not just having a show about all black people, or all white people. This is the USA where we have a variety of races, we should be celebrating that not excluding any race. To produce a show with just one race of people is incredibly unrealistic and causes a loss in how relatable it is for many.

I commend Disney Channel for including a variety of races in many of their shows. That's So Raven was a huge stepping stone, and to this day remains one of the best shows of all time. Disney also steps outside the boundaries, and produces shows like Jessie, which include a variety of races, as well as shows like A.N.T. Farm and Shake It Up.

TV is all money driven---lot's of research goes into what people want to see---and who they want to see on their screen---an old friend of mine had a TV commercial company and over the years casting went from white, to black and white--to asian and now more mixed race people get cast more then ever---as it covers all the bases lol--so your time is now.

Really, what kind of message is given to kids when they see mom watching RHOA and stuff like that? A message that a white person can't "hang" with a black person.

Also, mixed relationships are almost NEVER shown in any media. It's almost always a black person in a relationship with another black person or a white person in a relationship with another white person. Now that really sends a bad message to kids, that love stays within a certain race and that there are boundaries to love.

You are assuming that the "media" is there to give us all lessons when in reality it is a business and driven by $$$ and ratings.

KIDS don't know that. What kids watch can greatly influence them.

BET has The Game, which, like That's So Raven, was mostly black with white(and mixed) people in it. I can't commit on the others because I'm in my 20's and don't watch the Disney channel. And, in the case of The Game, you have a mixed race family and daughter right there. Funny how that works.

Housewives of Atlanta started with a mixed cast(don't know if that's true now, don't care because I hate the entire series), most of Bravos' reality series have had a mixed cast, etc. It's funny how you came so strong for BET, which was made in an era where it was NEEDED, but not the rest of Viacom for doing the same thing(MTV and VH1, though I can tell you there are some shows on MTV that are multinational and are NOT reality tv - like Awkward., - and some that are more than likely not, like Teen Wolf).

Mixed relationships are ALMOST never shown because people are stupid and freak out - remember the Cheerios commercial with the black father and white mother? It's not like that hasn't happened on tv before, but the moment it happened in this day people "freaked out", and Cheerios responded accordingly - by saying "fuck you racists" and making ANOTHER one. The latest show to have a mixed race couple is HBO's Looking. Before that, I believed it was Scandal on ABC(which I've never watched).

You have to know where to look, but it's more important if you stop trying to find the enemy all the time - that's why we can't have NEW things, much less nice things.
