I generally don't enter the bisexuality threads, especially with thread titles that are clearly ignorant and meant to bait people. Mikey3000, it would be a shame you to leave over that or any of the other asinine things that people post on here when there are plenty of great guys on here that post insightful and kind things.

Being on here has really opened my eyes the the gay male world. And I don't think I want a part of it anymore. There was a time when I considered calling myself gay, but not anymore. I'll stick to the more inclusive bi community. Obviously expecting inclusivity is not a reality here anymore. Got it.

JUB is just a collection of people who may have different views to yourself over things like sexuality, dont be surprised that on a pre-dominantly gay forum you will find some strong opposing views. I see that the main poster you clashed with and yourself are relatively new members of JUB I can tell you some years ago the response to some of your postings would be much more offensive ! By all means support the Bi cause but dont set out to try and convert other members , you wont win on a gay site. Have a rest and just scan the Threads for amusement and entertainment as others do. Best of luck hang in here.

I know exactly how you feel Mikey. Even though I'm not bisexual, I do understand what you mean when you talk about feeling victimized on JUB. I only joined this forum about 6 months ago, and almost every time I express an opinion on a topic, I am berated by others for having the 'wrong' opinion or made to feel stupid or inadequate for holding my personal views by some very condescending and arrogant individuals. I originally joined JUB to connect with other members of the LGBT community, in the hope that I would find greater acceptance among my own kind, but I have since discovered that there is as much hatred and discrimination here, as there is in wider society. To say my experience has been a disappointment and an eye-opener would be an understatement.

That's the elephant in the room. Most of us have no more in common than any other random group of people other than we all like dudes. That's it. Being gay doesn't make us all identical on anything else, not even our politics.

And what would be the fun of a site anyway if you went to it and everyone agreed with 100% of what you said on 100% of topics.

Bi-bashing and bashing of females and their genitalia is new here?

I agree that it's obnoxious, but if that's your major reason for leaving, I'm amazed you managed to stick around this long.

I'm not saying that all gay people should have the same opinion, I know it doesn't work like that, but what shocks me the most is the vindictiveness and aggression in the tone of some members' posts. It's like you can literally feel the hatred spewing from their lips. I mean, what is with all the nastiness around here, can't we all just try to get along? We are already part of a minority group that experiences a great deal of bullying and discrimination from society as a whole, and we certainly don't need it to come from within the LGBT community itself.

Dude not even everyone on this site supports gay marriage.

How do you expect this kind of solidarity you're implying should be here?

As the saying goes; "united we stand, divided we fall", and personally, I think that applies to the LGBT community as well. Whilst we have our differences, we should be able to put those differences aside and come together to achieve equality, and by not standing united, we will undermine ourselves in the eyes of those who wish to deprive us of our rights.

I agree with you. But I think the broader community should be able to say the same thing about fossil fuels and public healthcare.

    Unfortunately it's not that easy.

I agree with Rareboy, you have been on the receiving end of the benevolence of many JUBbers in the past. Count your blessings instead of offenses.

JUB is what you make it and a lot of that has to do with what threads you visit. Generally if I see a thread about race or about bisexuality I avoid it because I've already read what most people have to say about it. I stick to the topics that interest me or make my own if there's something on my mind. I usually stay away from the controversial ones, unless I feel I have something to add that hasn't been said and that I haven't said before in a different thread.

Hell, I don't even go to Current Events much anymore because the fighting over there got old.

Re: Not really comfortable here any more

I can't leave. I love this place and most of the guys here are truly amazing. Thank you so much for the kind words of encouragement. The PM's I got are so touching, I will try to learn from all your collective knowledge.

I can take the hetero and bi bashing threads, not everyone shares the same ideas and I'm totally cool with that. That's why I'm here, to gain insight. But I do not like the female and vagina bashing. Geez, all your mothers have one and that's how you got here, show a little respect. They are the most important half of the amazing human reproductive system. None of us would be here without them. Male or female, we are all human and deserving of a certain level of respect, no matter what your sexual preference.

But what I don't like the most is the petty intellectual potshots that go on. If you don't like their ideas, you have to immediately attack their education? Please. That is the cheapest of intellect around and I won't stoop to that level. You and I can waive our degrees in each other's faces and prove absolutely nothing. This is the internet. So yeah, I won't do that. If anyone with a PhD publishes a book on their theory, I will respectfully read it and take from it what works for me. I don't try to discredit their life's work. Another huge cheap shot, especially since "anonymous" you doesn't present a better option because you can't. You just spew your verbal diarrhea and shout insults the loudest to get them to back down. And, though I know this is the internet, might is not right. You just end up looking like an asshole. So to the "you" who keeps PMing me, FUCK OFF already. You're an asshole and and an idiot. Leave me alone. I actually think you're sick in the head for needing to be told you're right. You are not. You are a sad freak.

Otherwise, I ain't going too far. I'll take the other's wise advice and maybe just sit back and watch a bit, but I just wanted to say thank you for all the nice comments. Much appreciated.

    I'm glad you're not leaving.

That being said, this is a primarily gay site and if you post a controversial idea about what causes homosexuality, you have to naturally expect people are going to get heated.

I don't understand what that has to do with a discussion of what nature or nurture factors influence sexuality. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have anything to do with it.

You have been thru a rough period. Perhaps your new focus on your family has made you overly sensitive to the issues you mention. Take a breather - and remember that many of us have very negative recollections of mothering.

That, and for a safety net so he can make his lame arguments that homosexuality has no genetic basis without fear of being criticized by meanies.

Then you would have disagreed with Mikey in the other thread as well-- no one was bi bashing him but he did have a heated exchange with several members over possible causes of homosexuality.

So good job leaping into something where you had no clue what was being discussed and disagreeing with yourself.

And BAM! There he is. The retard who tries to belittle others to make himself feel important. Until you can prove anything, your opinion to anyone doesn't mean shit. So go back to your little arm chair, asshole. You are the main reason I'm staying. Just to piss you off at every fucking post you make. You have no back ground to prove shit. So suck it!

So you're calling people fanatical homos and retards now while saying we're all the ones who sink to some unacceptable level?

    OK.

Dude, it's you and your alter ego who want to drive others away. Not gonna work here man. Post all the hate you want. You aren't real anyway, and most know it. You need to show more love to your better half. He's hurting.

Mikey, you really should have taken some of the guys advise and taken a few weeks off.

This just looks like you intend to hurt and belittle other members before the mods kick your backside off the site.

Leave now mate and keep some of your self repect.

    Best wishes for the future
