Fraternal corrections is different from the act of judging another.

What a marvelously brief summary of credentials.

If says, get right with God yourself and then you will see clearly enough to properly correct your brother.

You have quoted correctly, if I may say so.

    Yep, if it matters.

But don't you think Pope's blurb is lacking in the qualifications-for-not-judging department?

That would depend on how one reads what is in the media, and how the Pope's words are interpreted.

My question refers to the article linked in the opening post, written by Monsignor Charles Pope.

Dr. Martin Luther's Small Catechism makes a lot more sense.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

    Any way in particular?

Do you mean that the essence of Christianity is in treating our neighbors kindly?

Or that we should gladly do good when treated poorly?

Is Christianity a religion of mercy? Or mercilessness? When and why was Jesus wrathful? etc, etc.

This is a lot simpler and plainer:

    The Eighth Commandment
You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour.

    What does this mean?
We should fear and love God so that we do not tell lies about our
neighbour, betray him, slander him, or hurt his reputation, but defend him, speak well of him,
and explain everything in the kindest way.
