Barbara Bush, the former First Lady of the United States, wife of former President George HW Bush and mother to former President George W Bush is in a Houston hospital for treatment of a respiratory-related issue.
Mrs Bush has been hospitalized frequently in the past. She was diagnosed in 1988 with an autoimmune disease...Graves Disease..... that affects the thyroid gland. In 2008 she had surgery for a perforated ulcer and 2009 she underwent heart surgery. And all this before the evils of Obamacare kicked in! I hope she didn't worry about the massive hospital and doctor bills that arrived in her mailbox.
Mrs Bush is known not only for being the spouse and mother of two Presidents of the United States, but for her compassion. She found the Barbara Bush Foundation for Family Literacy.
Thoughtful of returning soldiers, she commented: "Why should we hear about body bags and deaths? It's not relevant. Why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?"
Compassionate for hurricane Katrina victims housed in the Astrodome, she remarked many of the victims were underprivileged anyway, so this is working out very well for them. Also regarding Katrina, she welcomed the resettling refugees with "Almost everyone I've talked to said we're going to move to Houston. What I'm hearing, which is sort of scary, is they all want to stay in Texas."
However, when asked if her son Jeb should run for President in 2016, she replied "we’ve had enough Bushes.”. We couldn't agree more, Mrs Bush!
We wish you well and a speedy recovery Mrs Bush!
