Great win indeed. Now that I've calmed down a bit I see it perhaps just increases the odds of Rafa winning , but at least individually as a result it restored my faith a little bit that there may actually be some testicular fortitude on the tour. I hope Stan's win inspires a lot of players and that this isn't just a once-off.
Mmmmm Good job
Not a stan fan, but it should help rafa or andys chances. Don't want fed to win, hope murray routes him today but murray is a head case.
A long as Federer doesn't win I'm happy now. Sad for Novak but happy for Stan. I'm actually rooting for him or Berdych now, it could be their chance.
Ha ha @ no one wanting Fed to win. I don't like him because of the sports commentators. Even when he's losing he's a winner in their eyes.
Bummer for Novak but Stan is a class act and he came oh-so-close last year. He deserved the win. Rafa is the likeliest winner of this whole thing.
Simply red.....thats hilarious. I think all the years he was arrogant, very much like hingis was though not as brash as she was, that i just did not like him. Perhaps if i knew him personally i am sure that would change but he started to feel entitled to all GS titles which came to a head when he cried after losing to Rafa in the 2010 australian open final. When he cried cause he lost to rafa he said "its killing me" i just thought "that sounds like a spoiled brat. Imagine how roddick felt". What a baby!

As much as I would like to say that this could be a turning of the tides I remind myself that this is the tournament where flukes happen quite regularly...I believe this will be one of those years where a player will have a Clement year (AKA a Tsonga year or Bagdhatis you get the picture)
Here's some farewell pix of Nole's AO run (what was it 25 matches?)
ESPN@ didn't play any of the Dimitrov rd16 match but I'm assuming they will have to play this 1/4 final match...can't wait!!!
Fun pix of what I am assuming is a very disappointed David Ferrer (look @ the vein in his leg WTF!!!)
For fun here's a few shirt change pix where the face is covered...any guesses??
Some are obvious like this 1...one even I'm not sure who it is!??

Clutch match from Nadal just now. Clutch. As. Ever.
Some great signs from Dimi but he will have to continue to shore up his game if he wants to really make a dent at the majors.
That result has given me the push I need. Between me and tennis (and so this thread sadly), it's goodbye now until 2015. I don't think I'll even stick around to follow the rest of the AO. The odds of the only two players I want (Stan or Tomas) winning the title are almost zilch so there isn't even any point.
Will see lots of you around the forum in other places no doubt . Enjoy the season everyone .
I think he has officially arrived & when he gets over the disappointment he will feel very confident for the upcoming tournaments
Andy got farther than I thought he would
Gutted with the result but hopefully Rafa will get the job done against Fed otherwise I won't be bothering to watch the final. The commentators will probably have an orgasm if Federer is there and I'll just have to vomit.
Such farmers tan lol

Not Murray shirtless pictures.
thanksssss I love andy, is soooo hottttttt
^ I agree. Ferrer is a bully. I hope he falls out of the top 5 this year. Never thought he belongs there.
Why would he think he could use the linesman's chair for his filthy towel anyway?
I know right? I used to always kind of feel sorry for him but now, unless he has a good reason for what he did, that little hunchback quasimoto can go away for all i care. I know lines people do the best they can, and hawkye or shot spot is there to correct them, but never do they deserve to be physically harassed.
At the moment he's ranked higher than Federer, who is #6. The commentators still act as if he's #1. The reason is because they know more folks will watch if he's in the finals than if a unknown player happens to make it. I feel sorry for any new players moving up in the ranks because it's going to take the sports commentators to embrace them before they develop a fan base. Of course I don't allow the commentators dictate who I like.
I thought going into the match I was equally rooting for them but it didn't take long watching to realize I was totally team Stan...hope this isn't a single slam final career for him
Here r Berdych's AO pix
wowowo tomas, I like him, but wawrinka is so fat and so awful
Berdych has really baby blue eyes!

Gutted for Tomas but pleased for Stan. Surprised to hear those comments about Ferrer because I've always thought he was a nice guy. I didn't see the incident though.
Totally agree with the comment about pundits having favourites. Don't know what channel you guys watch but I'm on Eurosport and, apart from being a bunch of dinosaurs who talk rubbish, they clear favour certain players. It goes without saying they kiss Federer's arse but they also love Murray, Stan, Tsonga and are not keen on Novak, Berdych, gasquet.
In the women's game it's even more obvious. Always favourable to Serena despite some of her behaviour over they years, they love Radwanska, errani, Wozniacki. They clearly are not keen on Azarenka, Jankovic, Ivanovic - one of them called her dumb the other day - and Kerber.
They've ruined many a match for me, does anyone know if BT Sport's team is any better? For me the best team, surprisingly, is itv's for the French Open.
Stan couldn't that awful if He beat Tomas

Nadals Through! YEaH!!!!!!!!
That was agonizing to watch...
Stan is totally doing it for me. I'll be happy whoever wins the final.
What a match last night. Nadal is unbelievable when he is pushed to the max like that!

I don't often have anything good to say about the women's game these days because I'm convinced it was better 15 years ago than it is now.
However, Li Na and Cibulkova were a credit to the game this morning. Sill not the best match to watch but Li Na showed great character and produced the only winners' speech I've ever laughed at. Just shows you can say all the polite crap they all trot out and still inject some personality.
Cibulkova was also classy and smiley in defeat, something the likes of Radwanska and Wozniacki should take note of.
Happy for ladies & happy for the men's dub...great runs by all these finalists
Men's dubs champs Lukasz Kubot & Robert Lindstedt

Sacha looking quite good
I'm back temporarily, just to say how happy I am that Stan (at least momentarily) single-handedly halted the mind-numbingly boring domination of Novak and Rafa. I know they have lots of fans on here, but let's be real - the game was stale. Nothing exciting was happening in any important tournaments. Stan freed the AO from that fate, so thank you Stan .
At the same time I'm also really annoyed. I thought I'd completely had enough, so I didn't watch a thing after QF stage. If only I'd had a bit more patience (or faith, or whatever) I could've witnessed Stan's historic moment . But considering Stan had never won a set from Rafa, I could be forgiven for giving up hope by that stage I think.
I'm not ready to declare the Rafa-Novak era over. I think they'll both recover and justify my need for a break. But originally I said I'd take a break after this AO anyway. This was just my temporary return to say "well done Stan" and "those who want the odd surprise in tennis the world over thank you from the bottom of our hearts" .
yo, where are all the stan pics at?? so glad he won but it felt like i was more happy to win than he was... he probably just doesn't show much emotion. he has a nice ass too

Certainly no bad thing to have a new winner and really pleased for Stan. Sad the way it went, but hopefully Rafa will be fit again soon.
