@ the day and evening shifts at my store...
I'm fortunate that my immediate supervisor (night assistant manager) and I get along like 2 peas in a pod. But to the evening shift hourly assistant who tried to palm his work onto both of us last night - Dude, you know the store manager's gonna be back Monday morning. We've been pulling our weight plus y'all's for far too long, just because we're the last shift before salaried management comes in, in the morning, and everything's just supposed to be all done, and it just falls to us two to pick up y'all's slack.
When my immediate supervisor tells me you took a 45 minute break on the clock in the manager's office on top of your half-hour lunch you already get, I give you an F for FAIL!!!
My supervisor and I both agree - if it isn't done by 8am Monday morning, when the store manager walks in, it will be because you didn't get it done. In which case, let the axe of accountability fall where it may - right on top of your bald head.
With all of the drunks, drug-addicts, bullshitters, and hangers-on we see in addition to the shoplifters and trying to straighten 7 aisles apiece, and stock all of our own damn sections between us, my night manager and I have more than enough to do at night.
