Careful if you shave "down there"

At least according to this article, which says it's bad for your health:

Long ago surgeons figured out that shaving a body part prior to surgery actually increased rather than decreased surgical site infections. No matter what expensive and complex weapons are used—razor blades, electric shavers, tweezers, waxing, depilatories, electrolysis—hair, like crab grass, always grows back and eventually wins. In the mean time, the skin suffers the effects of the scorched battlefield. Pubic hair removal naturally irritates and inflames the hair follicles left behind, leaving microscopic open wounds. Rather than suffering a comparison to a bristle brush, frequent hair removal is necessary to stay smooth, causing regular irritation of the shaved or waxed area. When that irritation is combined with the warm moist environment of the genitals, it becomes a happy culture media for some of the nastiest of bacterial pathogens, namely group A streptococcus, staphylococcus aureus and its recently mutated cousin methicillin resistant staph aureus (MRSA). There is an increase in staph boils and abscesses, necessitating incisions to drain the infection, resulting in scarring that can be significant. It is not at all unusual to find pustules and other hair follicle inflammation papules on shaved genitals.
Additionally, I’ve seen cellulitis (soft tissue bacterial infection without abscess) of the scrotum, labia and penis from spread of bacteria from shaving or from sexual contact with strep or staph bacteria from a partner’s skin.
Evolution left us with hair there for good reason.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

I shaved my pubs once. I was freaked out by how large the follicles were. Never. Again.

shaving promotes ingrown hair which leads to built in pus.

I shaved mine off once in a fit of boredom. It looked ridiculous give I left the rest of the body hair intact It looked like a bloody window or a bald patch.

I shaved my pubes once when I was a teenager. It left a lot of little red bumps and it looked putrid... never again. I did it just for the hell of it. (although I don't mind shaved guys, I prefer pubic hair, especially if it's trimmed and cleaned up)
I am so lucky taking a shower after gym class was optional in high school... just change your clothes and you're good. It would have been beyond humiliating to show up in that condition in front of everyone. Some of the jocks would shower sometimes though, and I got a chance to see some of the guys I liked naked hehe... but I'm going on here.

I also shaved it off once in my early 20's. Damn, did I look stupid and did it ITCH! Never again.

Nowadays I don't even like men with no pubes. Trimmed is fine. Shaved just looks wrong on a grown man... I actually turned a guy down because he looked like an 8 year old child, instead of a man. Sorry, NO. (MY preference, so don't flame me for it)

Shaving is gross. Trimming is fine but a MAN is suppose to have hair down there. I find totally shaved guys an absolute turn-off...even in porn. It not only looks ridiculous but I want to see a MAN in bed, not something that looks like a supermarket plucked chicken. Sorry to sound so judgmental but I'll be glad when this shaving fad is over...and that's all it is.

I find pubic hair hot---from my childhood noticing it on a man---was hot---trimming is fine--but clean shaved is creepy---and I tend to agree with the article-----

Ingrown hairs can also lead to cyst-like growths that look a lot like genital warts.

It's a sign of sexual maturity. Shaving it off suggests you're trying to look like a little kid.

The only "shaving" I've seen on a guy that made sense was a college guy who used a fancy laser unit to kill all the follicles on his penis itself. He said his GF couldn't stand the hairs when giving head, so he spent a bundle to "clean it up".

Probably to you it does because you clearly have pubic hair fetish (and go as far to read studies about it to back up your preference) but to me it doesn't.

I'd post a picture of Zeb Atlas to show how childish he looks with his pubes shaven but it's Hot Topics.

He'd look sick, in need of psychological help.

And it's not a fetish to favor what's normal and natural and healthy.

BTW, your prejudice is showing in that wild assumption you made.

That's the result. Since it isn't about cleanliness or health, it's about how you look. And since the look is that of pre-pubescence, that sort of says it all.

How can an adult man look pre-pubescent just by shaving his pubes? Can you show an example?

I can't with pube obsessed people who think the more pube one has the more manlier he becomes.

Pubic hair is the sign of sexual maturity. Its absence is the mark of pre-pubescence. QED

BTW, would you mind constructing grammatically complete sentences? I can't tell WTF your second line is supposed to mean.

Suggesting that shaving means that you're trying to look like a kid makes you out to be an asshat. I do all three for different reasons - none of which is to look like an 11-year old.

The result is a pre-pubescent appearance. Anyone who likes men should be revolted.

And as it's unhealthy, it's a signal you're either ignorant or don't care about your body.

Facts don't need examples. The only time in life a human has no pubic hair is pre-pubescence. To remove the pubic hair, then, is to match the appearance of pre-pubescence.

Given your statement about bisexuals and agnostics, it doesn't surprise me you aren't following logic: you're wrong about both. You don't understand either. That means you don't actually understand sexuality in the first place. In fact, it strongly suggests that you hold the irrational position of the fundamentalist 'evangelcials' who clam that gays can be cured, because it's a choice.

So, when did you choose to like guys?

So 'facts' to you are things that you will never be able to prove. You won't show me the example about pubic hair.

And if I ask you to name your favourite female pornstars I'm sure you'll have to go to Google!

The two statements I've put in colored text are facts. The underlined statement is the logical result.

As for porn stars, I can't name any -- male or female. I don't know why that's even important to anything at all.

Now, how about answering the question?

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

I shaved my body before, much prefer my natural hair.

I love feeling the hair on me when I touch myself down there, especially around my hole.

I had a guy play with just the hair once and almost get me off that way. Hair is incredibly sensual, and anyone who takes it off, besides being unhealthy, is throwing away a delight.

Plus I think hair looks better on a man too, at least in the front. When I shaved my hole I liked the way it looked too, but it was itchy.

I've thought about that, and if there was a treatment to permanently remove hair, that's one of the places I'd have smooth.

What about guys who shave their faces?

Are they trying to look like women? Are they all cross dressers?

Or, are they, too, trying to look like little kids?

And, what about haircuts? I've seen a lot of guys with what I would call a little boy's hairstyle. But, is cutting it at all some sort of deception in the works?

And as it's unhealthy, it's a signal you're either ignorant or don't care about your body.

If you're going to point out such 'signals' here, you'll have to do the same elsewhere, won't you - to keep from looking the hypocrite? You know, when we talk about people who are even slightly over weight, boozers, butt-munchers, muff-divers, bone-smokers, rock climbers, sunbathers, people who swim naked in 'wild' waters, . . . busy, busy, busy . . . . you've lots of work to do.

Butt hair works well as a fart filter and muffler, too.

The hairless hole would have a tough time squeaking out a silent one, I should think, might even be painful.

Well, that's just not true. Ask Muslim men about crotch shaving, if you dare.

And, we've had several discussions on this board about after-pee drips. Some of us have confessed to using a bit of toilet paper to dab/wipe the equipment before it's put away.

I've never shaved below the neck. Can't imagine doing so either.

I like a guy with pubes, trimmed is o.k. but, shaved just looks nasty (not in a good way). I wouldn't go so far as to say it's emulating prepubescence, but it's not a good look, IMHO. But like anything else....to each their own.

    Understandable.

I feel the same way about cock-rings, dick piercings, and the circumcised.

Fortunately, we don't have to look at, or blow, every guy in the world, right?

And, I'll bet most folks' crotches are not too pretty no matter what they do down there. The phrase 'bumping uglies' didn't come out of thin air, did it?

Shaving may be a comparison to think about. Clothing is not part of the body.

Only the ones that are being done to your body would count. But for heavy drinkers and tobacco smokers, yes -- it indicates a lack of respect for one's own body. The same goes for exposing one's body to the sun merely for the purpose of exposing it to the sun.

There's no requirement for such. And while a first-millennium terrorist warlord may have thought it was hygenic, that claim is false.

Which has what to do with pubic hair?

Honestly, I'm too lazy to ever shave anywhere below the neck. It can get a bit wild, but I'm alright with that. I love being hairy.

BTW, would you mind constructing grammatically complete sentences? I can't tell WTF your second line is supposed to mean.
By inference, so is facial hair.

And then ZZ Top would win, over all mankind.

None of this is relevant- none of it matters - not even your opinion that the 'warlord's' claim is/was false.

What you said in your post #21
Since it isn't about cleanliness or health, it's about how you look.
What does matter is that there are indeed many who shave only because they believe that it is cleaner and healthier to do so.

And I'm reasonably sure that you would have a very hard time finding many Muslim men who will tell you they do it to look pretty.
