    OK, but I didn't say 'guys' so of the 'folks' I was talking about (bumpin' their uglies) you're still only at about 50% at best.

    I don't want to know if you like your beaver shaved or full pelt, but if you must tell us, go ahead, I can look away.

    LOL

    Effective point. But facial hair isn't universal among humans, so shaving could indicate just trying to look different.

    What does matter is that there are indeed many who shave only because they believe that it is cleaner and healthier to do so.

    And I'm reasonably sure that you would have a very hard time finding many Muslim men who will tell you they do it to look pretty.
    The practice is unhealthy, as indicated by the article. What those who do it believe is no more relevant than whether someone believes the world is flat.

    No it doesn't. It suggests you're tired of the hair for any multitude of reasons. I like it personally, because I like the feel of lips against the skin above my dick, without the hair filtering out the sensation. Stop making asinine, untrue assumptions.

    Ah -- finally a reason that makes sense: balancing health v sensuality.

    I can buy that one.

    Really? Then why did the author bring 'a few sociological theories suggest' up in the second paragraph of her article?

    In which, by the way, she offers four other possibilities/reasons besides 'a return to childhood'.

    And with only 'a few sociological theories suggest' she is still pretty much just giving it a guess.

    ~~~~~~~
    Also, I think the fact that she compares the old pre-op/prep shaving (someone is about to be opened up) to a healthy person without any other wounds in the area makes her look more than a bit silly - over dramatic - suspect - she probably has more of a grudge or agenda than she's letting on, here.
    She's guessing that it's unhealthy? Really? She referenced hard data.
    The only problem with the comparison to pre-op shaving and shaving one's pubes is that the former is done by professionals and the latter by amateurs. But that just means that any sanitary problems occurring during the professional procedures are more likely under the amateur.
    I have read similar articles in past few years where doctors are describing increasing infection rates and complications related to pubic hair removal trends.
    I'm afraid there will be a case where flesh-eating bacteria are involved.
    You are either stupid, or that's a poor attempt at a shifty lie/squirming. Either way there's no point expecting anything more from you, now. Squirm away.
    Of course there are reports of increasing infection rates. Just as there are/would be with body piercing, tattooing, rollerblading, or anything else as it has become more popular/frequent.
    You said she was guessing, in response to my pointing out that she said it's unhealthy. So I wanted to know if you meant she's guessing that it's unhealthy. Other than that, the rest of what you said was irrelevant, as motives have no effect on biological processes.
    So you concede that it's unhealthy.
    As to what that offering is worth, it demonstrates experience and expertise in her field.
    I think you should count your blessings if a bit of matted pubic hair is the only surprise you find in a guy's nappy.
    I shave my entire body when I feel like it. I get smooth ass a babies ass lol. But that's just a figure of speech. I like it because it makes me feel like an alien. It makes me feel sexy. A sexy alien. And the ones I get naked with love it.
    that article does not state an evolutionary purpose for a patch of hair there (to my knowledge, there is none - its just not harmful so it never got selected against either).
    what it does say is that ripping hair out, or scraping sharp metal against the skin, can damage the skin - shocker. but if done right, it wont. electric trimmers btw, dont cut the skin, they cut just above it
    but i shave my balls and never had problems.
    the reason they shave areas for surgery is because you cannot sterilize hair chemically - too many cracks and folds in the structure. so if some hair gets in the wound that will result in infection. so any site is shaved prior to incision. including the pubic area such as for a Cesarian in women.
    It most certainly does give one:
    Pubic hair does have a purpose, providing cushion against friction that can cause skin abrasion and injury, protection from bacteria and other unwanted pathogens...
    I learned early on not to shave even my legs, at least on the inside, if I was going hiking with bare legs -- the hair gives protection.
    Actually they can sterilize hair, it just doesn't leave it resembling hair too much (we studied this in chemistry [yes, I had an eccentric chemistry professor]) -- it ends up extremely dry and brittle, which brings its own problems for healing wounds. It's not exceptionally helpful to the skin, either.
    I think this is the first one attempting to bring science in on the matter.
