Poll: Obamacare support, Obama approval sink to new lows

While Obama's approval rating dropped to 37% in the latest CBS News poll, the ACA dropped it's lowest approval rating of only 7%.

Only 7% of the American people said to keep Obamacare the same (pretty much the general consensus recently in discussion in CEP), 48% think the law needs to be changed, and 43% think the law needs to be repealed entirely.

Obama's approval rating is now equal to George Bush's approval rating in the fall of 2005 -- also one year after he was re-elected.

Republicans famously "don't believe" in polls, so this poll should be unbelievable as well.

However, liberals live by polls so there must be deep depression at the White House tonight.

I can 'see' Obama taking with Lincoln's ghost.

That is definitely not the consensus among us, and it wasn't when it passed. The US needs a public option like every other developed country.

It is interesting that more people, including myself, want it changed than repealed entirely, which the Tea Party was willing to risk the credit of our nation for.

you guys are against everything because you are anti-american---and just want power---everything you were for has been a disaster and everything you are against has passed the test of time like civil rights, gay rights, SS, Medicare and Medicade---you are useless in the grand scheme of things---always proven wrong--the only thing Obama did was try to help people not loose everything when they get sick and not die due to lack of health care which an independent research has proven in the USA someone dies every 20 minutes from lack of health care---this was a gop plan---in that sense not too good--this will eventually lead to single payer--because useless poor white trash republicans who can't afford health care---don;t want it--they want to go to emergency rooms when their fat asses get sick---so we all pay (socialism)---they don't want to step up to the plate and pay a dime--because the rich get rich and the poor get poorer but these dumb assholes still vote for the gop even though the gop doesn't want to pay them a living wage---it's all a joke---and unless you are willing to shut up and die if you get sick and not have the gov pay for your hospital bill you are a hypocrite.

The main reason the ACA needs changed is that it was taken from a right-wing think tank and is designed to funnel profits to the insurance companies. It ignores various possible market-based means to make medical care more affordable and available.

In other words, it's corporatist, not free market.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

Over and over again in CEP I was told that that the ACA was the law of the land and did not need to be changed.

Your post reminds of another person who said repeatedly "if you like your insurance, you can keep it ... period".

Obama (I hope) has found out that repeating a lie many times doesn't make it the truth.

By people who wanted a public option, and no I have not seen a consensus that the ACA was 100% perfect.

Substandard insurance drops was not a matter of policy, but was a policy oversight. You have to remember, that the ACA and its advocates are making a good faith effort to improve public health. It is going to be harder to achieve that with bad blood.

F in reading comprehension. The first part is true, but the second is false -- very few, if any, have claimed nothing needed to be changed; what has been said, that I think you're misrepresenting, is that you don't go changing it until we see it in action and can actually observe what needs fixed. Yet more than a few of us have said from the outset that it missed some very basic measures needed to make the whole medical care scene in the US work better.

I suspect you're claiming that it actually wasn't taken from the Heritage Foundation, when that fact of its origin has been thoroughly documented -- so you're just repeating your falsehood.

Or are you asserting that the ACA doesn't ignore market-based means of addressing costs?

Or do you think it's not corporatist?

Or is it that you think it's a free market approach?

Actually, I suspect it's that you aren't actually reading and thinking, just skimming and throwing out a knee-jerk response.

The latter is a bold faced lie and has been reported. Absolutely nobody here has claimed the law is perfect and doesn't need changing. Perhaps you need to see someone about this inability to face reality...

If he has, that would put him a step ahead of you then.

When will you compute that nobody here is impressed enough with this particular "lie" of Obama's to actually bother arguing with you over it?

Many people here said that the law was fine the way it was and didn't agree that the mandated purchase should be changed or eliminated.

CNN has Obama in his lowest approval rating ever.

NSA spying, IRS treatment of conservative groups has grown his disapproval rating.

Expect more wag-the-dog scenarios to change the subject from the Obamacare disaster.

I am sure he cares deeply, now that he is about to run for reelection... oh wait.

But I understand. You lost everything. Your party got nothing. Again and again. All you have is a wagging finger and an "I told you so!" Except, nobody is interested.

What Happens When You Fact Check Fox News
Fox blames Obamacare for fictional layoffs at Cleveland clinic.

    November 26, 2013 |

Fox News reported that the Cleveland Clinic was instituting "massive layoffs" due to the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, but when asked about the reports, a Clinic spokesperson told Media Matters, "We're not."

On November 25, The Daily Caller published an article titled, "Top U.S. hospital laying off staff due to Obamacare." On Fox Business' Markets Now, host Connell McShane reported on the "massive layoffs."America's Newsroom host Bill Hemmer claimed that the Cleveland Clinic was going to "shed workers." Later, during the America's News HQ, Fox reporter Chris Stirewalt claimed that the layoffs "rocked the community there in northeastern Ohio."

Here's a real source ... not a web site setup exclusively to harass Fox News.

An early retirement package will be offered to about 3,000 employees by late October, Sheil told the Beacon Journal. Any possible layoffs will be considered after January, she added.
    http://www.usnews.com/news/articles/...rns-of-layoffs

Ask anyone who was offered an early retirement package whether they see a difference between a layoff and an early retirement.

Administrators at the Cleveland Clinic announced on Wednesday that the health care giant would be cutting as much as $300 million from its 2014 budget, and that the cuts will likely include layoffs.

"Health care reform has really changed things, and the burden of cost is going to be falling on patients," spokeswoman Eileen Shiel told The Plain Dealer. "We want to make sure we can keep care affordable."

Obama approval rating is 34% in Ohio -- home of the Cleveland Clinic.

    His disapproval rating is 61%!

The first month of Romneycare only had a hundred or so subscribers... and those are only the most proactive and successful ones. The numbers are starting to accelerate as we pass two months.

He won't implode -- the MSM would never let that happen. They've already started to push positive stories about Obamacare -- which they now frequently only call it the ACA.

The back in your rear will continue.
