    80's music

I am an 80's music fanatic for those who don't know. My parents exposed me to all sorts of singers/bands from that time period, too many to count. My parents had joint custody of me as a child, so I would get a good dose of music from each. My dad always played The Cars, Billy Ocean, Prince, Billy Idol, Chicago, KISS, The Cure and all sorts of rock singers/groups. My mom played a lot of Madonna, Cher, Gloria Estefan, Donna Summer, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, etc.

I have even started liking singers/bands from back then that my parents never listened to, like Siouxsie and the Banshees, The Smiths and all the underrated singers/bands. Where had that music been all my life? I haven't really listened to much music in awhile but when I do, it's always something from the 1980's.

    Show me your 80's colors!!

If you like 80's music, I also highly recommend the stage musical 'Rock of Ages' - but make sure you see the stage production and not the the awful, awful film.

One of the funniest most energetic stage productions I have ever seen.

Your mom is one lucky woman, millions of women were after Duran Duran and Billy Idol in the 80's. Some of those guys are still sexy, namely Billy Idol.

Jody Watley is a sweet person. If you've ever joined her official Facebook page, she runs it and posts almost all the time. She is still singing and has retained her beautiful looks. Jody is an uncrowned diva but she is great.

herry1, such an 80's guilty pleasure overload. I love most if not all of those you listed. I saw Depeche Mode in August. That concert was electric and hot. Dave Gahan is still sexy at his age. When they played "Policy Of Truth", he bumped and grinded the microphone stand. He got quite an ovation. They sung a collection of new songs and bits from the 80's and 90's as well.

"Automatic" is one of my Pointer Sister favorites and fun to dance to. My brother got embarrassed when I started dancing to it but I don't care, I love it. Always have loved PSB, Spandau, ABC and Human League too, 80's British gold right there.

I know and have CD's of most of these. If I were wealthy and healthy, I'd go to more concerts. I didn't get to see Aerosmith since the concert I was supposed to go to was cancelled because Steven Tyler broke his shoulder at a prior concert. I was too sick to see Whitesnake but I heard the show I was supposed to see was good.

Here is all the concerts I've attended or was supposed to:

July 22nd, 2006 - Def Leppard (with Journey)
July 7th, 2007 - Def Leppard (with REO Speedwagon and Styx)
July 18th, 2008 - Crüe Fest (Mötley Crüe, Papa Roach, Trapt, Sixx A.M. and Buckcherry)
August 30th, 2009 - Was supposed to see Aerosmith and ZZ Top but it was cancelled because Steven Tyler broke his shoulder at a prior concert
August 9th, 2010 - KISS (with The Envy)
August 12th, 2011 - Def Leppard (with Heart)
November 9th, 2011 - Judas Priest (with Thin Lizzy and Black Label Society)
February 22nd, 2012 - Van Halen (with Kool & The Gang)
    July 6th, 2012 - Heart
July 19th, 2012 - Iron Maiden (with Alice Cooper)
August 24th, 2012 - Def Leppard (with Lita Ford and Poison)
July 12th, 2013 - Bon Jovi (with J. Geils Band)
July 19th, 2013 - Was supposed to see Whitesnake but I didn't feel too good that day
August 24th, 2013 - Depeche Mode (with Bat For Lashes)

Looks like you went some great concerts

I'd love to see Judas Priest or Depeche Mode
I really don't do concerts though - far too expensive for me (and too loud LOL)
Not really a concert since its just a few songs, but I did see Martha Wash (from the weather girls) at pridefest this past June

and ug... how could I forget to add
Bon Jovi & Heart to my list above
