London electronic producer Actress has announced a new album, Ghettoville. The triple-LP release is out January 28 via Werkdiscs/Ninja Tune.

Ghettoville follows 2012's R.I.P., but according to a press release, it's really the sequel to Actress' 2008 debut, Hazyville, "sharing a similar rugged style." Hazyville will get a remastered vinyl release as part of the Ghettoville box set edition, which also includes a 32-page art book.

The Ghettoville press release includes a statement suggesting this may be the final Actress album. "Ghettoville is the bleached out and black tinted conclusion of the Actress image," it reads. "A fix is no longer a release, it's a brittle curse. Zero satisfaction, no teeth, pseudo artists running rampant, but the path continues. R.I.P Music 2014."

    Ghettoville:

    01 Forgiven
    02 Street Corp
    03 Corner
    04 Rims
    05 Contagious
    06 Birdcage
    07 Our
    08 Time
    09 Towers
    10 Gaze
    11 Skyline
    12 Image
    13 Don't
    14 Rap
    15 Frontline
    16 Rule

I'm super excited for this. Definitely one of my favorite bands.

Domino is proud to present the fourth album from Wild Beasts, Present Tense, released on 24th February 2014. The album opener, Wanderlust, will be released as the first single on the same day.

No title or release date yet, but Mew has said their new album will be out this summer.

Their website leads to an app that uses samples of new recordings and feels kind of gimmicky. They have also released a new song on Spotify called "Making Friends". I'm not fond of it, reminds me more of Frengers, but apparently it is not the version we will hear on the new album. I've loved their past two records and I'm looking forward to hearing more.

The War On Drugs 'Lost In The Dream' out March 2014 on Secretly Canadian. Looking forward to seeing these guys here in March.

I always heard a bit of Bob Dylan and Tom Petty in their work. This is strikingly more Springsteen-esque. That isn't something that would normally appeal to me, but I like this.

One of my favorite bands, Elbow, releases their new album 'The Take Off and Landing of Everything' March 2014.

    Here's the first single/video.

Album title seems pretentious, but this song sounds great. I'm glad it to hear something different from the orchestrations so prominent on the previous two albums.

"Keith Morris’ punk supergroup OFF! will release their sophomore album, Wasted Years, on April 8th via Vice Records. Our first taste of the 16-track album’s “thematic darkness” comes with the pleasantly-titled opener, “Void You Out”. Though their output’s always distilled hardcore to its very essence, they’ve managed to fill the spaces with even more angst and outrage, growing angrier and scarier with time."

    Wasted Years Tracklist:

    01. Void You Out
    02. Red White and Black
    03. Legion of Evil
    04. No Easy Escape
    05. Over Our Heads
    06. Hypnotized
    07. It Didn’t Matter to Me
    08. Exorcised
    09. Death Trip on the Party Train
    10. I Won’t Be a Casualty
    11. All I Can Grab
    12. Time’s Not on Your Side
    13. Meet Your God
    14. Mr. Useless
    15. You Must Be Damned
    16. Wasted Years

Blondie celebrates 40th anniversary with new album, greatest hits collection

Debbie Harry’s 68 and Chris Stein’s 64, but Blondie’s 40. To celebrate, the legendary New York outfit has put together a special double-disc release and slapped on a confusing title: Blondie 4(0) Ever.

Due out May 13th, the collection bundles new recordings of their past hits with their tenth studio album, which is actually dubbed, Ghosts of Download. If you recall, Journey marketed the same package deal back in 2008 with Revelation, but don’t fret if that doesn’t ring a bell.

Recorded at New York’s Mercy Sound Studios, the followup to 2011′s Panic of Girls comes stocked with 12 originals and a cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s big hit, “Relax”. Last year’s single “A Rose By Any Name”, featuring Gossip’s Beth Ditto, also joins the bunch.

Right now, the album’s available for pre-order via iTunes, which includes a free download of new song “I Want to Drag You Around” upon ordering. Diehard fans should recognize the tune, as the band’s performed it live in recent tours.

    Greatest Hits Tracklist:

    01. Heart of Glass
    02. Dreaming
    03. Tide Is High
    04. Maria
    05. Sunday Girl
    06. Hanging on the Telephone
    07. Rapture
    08. One Way or Another
    09. Call Me
    10. Atomic
    11. Rip Her to Shreds

    Ghosts of Download Tracklist:

    01. Sugar on the Side
    02. Rave
    03. A Rose By Any Name
    04. I Want To Drag You Around
    05. Winter
    06. I Screwed Up
    07. Relax
    08. Take Me In The Night
    09. Make A Way
    10. Mile High
    11. Euphoria
    12. Take It Back

    Frontiers - White Lights

Featuring former members of Elliott and Mouthpiece. I'm not so familiar with Mouthpiece but I am with Elliott and this band is more in tune with earlier Elliott, but a bit expanded upon that sound if that makes sense. Real good stuff.
