Dear GOP, here's how you change a law, by kos

Kos explains how the Congress is supposed to do to kill a law. The ACA is the law of the land a/o 10-1. It is apparent that you cannot defund it as you have proved 42 times. I think that figure is correct. But anyway here is Kos and his explanation.

    Dear GOP,

For a crowd that loves to bray about the Constitution, it seems you have misplaced your copy. How else to explain your bizarre efforts to destroy the world unless you get your way?

You don't like the Affordable Care Act. You've made it obvious. But it was passed the correct way, in a Congress that generally doesn't pass shit. It made it through the House, and it made it through the Senate. It wasn't passed in the "dead of night", nor was it "rammed down" anyone's throat like you jokers like to claim. It passed only after an excruciating 14-months of debate and negotiations. But all your hysterical shrieking about death panels and communism couldn't stop it. Finally, the president signed it into law.

It is evidence of dysfunctionality that the Republicans want to eviscerate a basically Republican health plan.

repubs are just making it worse for themselves and their backers, seeing how long it took to pass this bill and how much the GOP was wrong to oppose the will of the American people will only make future laws that much quicker to pass.

gop cannot complain, they did it to themselves.

You gotta dumb it down for these right wingers to understand anything.

Even then it doesn't guarantee they will.

he stated the next issue, in 2016 when the repugnicans take control again..they will repeal all of it and leave us back at square one, no health care and broke, just like they want us so that we HAVE to depend and be grateful for the pittance they dole out to us...the odds of it being another democrat in 16 to keep the plan moving forward is pretty much zero according to history.

The chance of electing a black man was definitely zero according to history.

Our political context is not currently predictable.

The voters don't have long enough memories to really hold the Republicans accountable for this idiocy. At the same time, the Republicans aren't likely to grow up and actually govern. So we'll just have to wait and see.

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

In the alternative, China and others will at some point stop loaning money to the US and health care in the US will collapse. The Constitution requires that all bills for raising revenue originate in the House, which is fighting to defund Obama care before the Chinese do it, after we have come to depend on it.
Most Americans polled say they do not want Obama care, and the 2014 and 2016 elections will fall while Dems are struggling to correct the defects.
Democrats cannot claim the high ground in the Constitution. They deliberately appoint Justices who will impose the Democrat agenda by authoritarian decree, subverting the democratic process. Nothing in the Constitution gives a right to abort children. It was a bald faced lie, and only one of many.

Be honest: while polls asking using the word "Obamacare" show that people don't want it, when they're asked about the things it does without the name, far more people are in favor of it.

As for China, if we had actual conservatives in Congress instead of today's Republicans, we could eliminate the deficit in a single weekend of negotiations.

No, you mean if you asked them about the good things it is supposed to do, without the bad, many more would like it. No one knows what it "does" until it is fully operational. Even then, it's intended victims are not going to like it. The intent is to impose the burden of health care on a relatively small percentage of Americans. Those who can afford insurance will have to pay inflated premiums to give the gift of coverage to those with pre existing illnesses. Others whom the democrats deem unable to buy will get subsidies from taxes or borrowed borrowed funds. Those who own businesses or stock in them will have to pay for employees and their adult children under 25. Notice that those who own stock, pay taxes and buy insurance are intended to get stuck all three ways.
And no, "actual conservatives" do not believe in socialism or confiscatory taxation. We can never tax as much as the Dems want to spend.

It's amazing how you say this as though people who have a pre-existing condition are some kind of parasite leech on society.

That's exactly the way Republicans wanted it to be when the Heritage Institute wrote the original version.

Actual conservatives believe in paying the country's bills. They would be easily paid if we had actual Republicans again.

It is dishonest to pretend that some ideas of the Heritage Institute was "exactly the way Republicans wanted it". They never did represent the Republicans as a whole, or even a small percentage.
When conservative believe in paying bills they anticipate intelligent restraint in spending. Conservatives do not believe in squandering the nations capital to buy votes for the socialist party. It is absurd to think that the increasingly few income tax payers can pay an additional trillion a year in taxes without destruction of the economy. And the trillion does not include the vast new deficit from Obama care.

Am I to believe that "conservatives" would support a reduction in defence spending enabling a reduction in the deficit...or, is it reduction in spending on "social" matters that monopolises the time, and energies of "conservatives" towards fulfiling their goal of reducing the deficit?

Both. There is no doubt that our defense spending involves huge amounts of waste. And 47% of Americans receive some form of welfare, not counting Social Security and Medicare while we continue to import millions of more poor and unemployed people.

Defence spending is not just about waste, it is also about spending that fulfils the dreams of many "conservatives" wishing to restrain spending on "social" matters while, encouraging spending on defence matters.
