Sorry, I see who is pushing this insanity and the term "civil society" does not come to mind. Nor do the words "gay rights."

    Freeper comes to mind.

You can pretend otherwise but that doesn't make it so.

AND i'm officially done with the rant until the next avoidable tragedy bought to you by the letters "N," "R," and "A."

I'm just curious as to how this "personal responsibility" switch works as far as turning on and off. If someone walks into a public space where they are clearly making people nervous with a gun strapped on, they're just exercising their right and being responsible. If they surrender that gun to some random employee they don't know, they aren't being irresponsible?

This seems to shift based on what suits you.

Yeah, very weird, since - according to Kuli - letting any authority have your guns taken away for any reason turns you immediately into a sheep and a coward.

Nothing is shifting. Surrendering one's firearm to secure storage before drinking is responsible behavior -- and it's also a voluntary transaction between private citizens, not a matter of coercion.

    What "authority" is involved here?

"Thirty-one* states allow all qualified citizens to carry concealed weapons. In those states, homosexuals should embark on organized efforts to become comfortable with guns, learn to use them safely and carry them. They should set up Pink Pistols task forces, sponsor shooting courses and help homosexuals get licensed to carry. And they should do it in a way that gets as much publicity as possible. "

The bar. Making the distinction between "private citizens" and "government" is fairly flimsy as reasonings go. In both cases you surrender a freedom you have while using the services, provided by another. Whether it's a bar, or the government, the surrender of control over your own well-being is ABSOLUTELY the same.

Yeah I mean from other remarks I've seen Kulindahr make, relying on the police or any established authority for law enforcement or armed protection or whatever is irresponsible, stupid, shirking your responsibility as a citizen, etc. But letting a bartender cover you with no training is ok?

These are a series of rules that apply inconsistently. Which leads me to believe they're made up.

Actually Starbucks stopped short of banning weapons in their stores. They simply request people leave them at home.

Interesting police tip this week from the police chief. He pointed out that cars with NRA stickers are more often broken into to steal the weapon. Especially when parked outside of limited access places like schools and bars.

The conjecture is that with conceal carry so prevalent in the area, a NRA or "keep honking, I'm reloading" sticker is a like an invitation to be robbed.

The point is if I carry I have no reason to alert the guy I may desire to use it on.

The point is, the gunman is compensating for having a small "pee-pee."
