GOP Senator Vows to help people into Obamacare, GOP then votes to cut off their welfare.

Republicans seeking to cut it also represent vast numbers of recipients.
Among the 254 counties where food stamp recipients doubled between 2007 and 2011, Republican Mitt Romney won 213 of them
    Thats a 9 to 1 ratio.

Translation: Republican voters are the most economically disadvantaged class of voters in the country.

For a long time Republicans and right wing voters have been a majority of the recipients of food stamps and other forms of welfare.

Obama isn't the food stamp president. The GOP is the Food Stamp party, as we live in a era where Bushanomics are still being felt.

Earlier this year the GOP failed to pass a non-controversial farm bill because it didn't cut enough from Food Stamps.

This highlights the difference between the political parties at their core.

Liberals see welfare as anti-poverty measures.

Conservatives, like Senator Vitter and Paul Ryan, see welfare as a career choice.

When the economy is done with its re-alignment, we will be at the same place we are now with the Republicans still struggling to survive politically and economically and liberals doing what we have always done, not acted as if race-to-the bottom socioeconomics are the acceptable result of trickle-down-economics.

this is so true--this is how dumb, conflicted and hypocritical this country has become--at least poor people back in the 30's knew to vote for FDR during the last Depression---but today the red states consistently vote against their interests.

Wish I could remember where I saw it, but I once read a study that explained why seemingly fairly intelligent people vote against their own best interest. It has something to do with the "they can't be talking about me" syndrome. The need for people to always have someone that is in a class beneath them. For example when someone is "disabled" and draws a social security disability check from the government they deserve that money, but when someone is unemployed, even by no fault of their own, they don't deserve unemployment benifits because they are lazy. Go figure.

Thats a fair assessment, America as of late hasn't really lived up to its own expectations so we go into denial about what our country really is, that is the highest inequality most backwards western society in the world.
